- Today I installed new el wire to my car!! This is a super easy and cheap upgrade to make your car or truck look awesome!! The lights go between your trim and glow when powered during the night and I have to be honest this is one of my best upgrades so far!! PS I also have foot well led rgb lights on which also makes it looks super awesome i hope it doesnt have too much rice ;)

Hey man. I do similar things with my car lighting projects. I found a way to do under car lighting for like $20 that doesn't require any modification of the car whatsoever.
It's made from 2 6.5 ft led strips from Walmart, pipe hanging metal strips, phone wire, a modified standard fuse, a dollar store usb car charger, and zip ties. It holds up to the elements and looks professional and even. The modified fuse can be put into the fog light circuit slot on the fuse box so that you don't have to run wires inside the car to switch it on and off.

Can you hook up a nine volt battery if you wanted to use these strips on office chairs or costumes (clothing)? I was thinking of using a switch with a battery pack and have the battery pack installed underneath the chair . But I wanted to know how much voltage is required if I just use a battery without the converter.

did you know about those but RGB? i want it changeable. Now i bought a kit that had RGB but works in another way they had LED CANNONS to lights up, and it get weaker with the distance from the cannon, soo after a little the colour is not that good

you can cut the wires and have them connect to some other light that lights up so it doesn't take up the cigarette slot

Maybe you could try hooking it up to your fuse box, shouldn’t be that much of a hassle with some fuse taps, looks way more clean that running cables under your mat

I have an Opel Astra H 2006 budget friendly car with huge potentional to upgrade.
Was looking into these but are they not super bright and distracting while driving at night? And is there a reflection on the windshield at night?
They aren’t too bright many cars have them in as stock and I was able to jam my lights far enough that they don’t reflect on the windshield

Is there a high pitched buzz that comes out of the EL wire when it's on? I always had that problem whenever I used it in the past, it was so annoying that I had to take the wire out

Definitely possible, but you'll have to look up how to do it for your car
One of the fuses in your car may have that capability however not all fuses can be split without causing electrical issues to your vehicle. You’re better off asking a certified mechanic for your car brand like someone who works at a deapership

My lights are bright on one side and dim on the other, it’s all one strip idk what to do
So EL wire is DC based, it has a single high output LED that puts a large amount of light through a fiber optic wire inside the wedge shroud. Because the shroud is clear the fiber optic wire emits the light put through it
No. It’s not a single high power led. The whole string is an led. It is made with two semiconductors that glow, then they use phosphors and pigment to color the outer jacket. What you’re referring to is something else. Fiber optics have nothing to do with el wire.

Yeah its awesome but did you know, that there are el wires that connect directly to the dashboard lighting of your car? So it switches on with the lights and you dont waste your cigarette lighter

@@JosephGoesHAM Well you needbto know which wires are responsible for your dash lighting (can be found on google and where they are). You cut the dash lighting cables and connect the positive from the el wire with the lighting wire and the negarive to ground. Put them back together and thats it. I can send you a link but i dont really know how to be honest😅
