That’s great but even better news is to see her in the ocean. I hate these people for keeping her.

Her mom is waiting in the Salish Sea, in which her daughter Tokitae (Lolita) was stolen. She is over 90 years old & her Indian name is Ocean Sun. Tokitae has her own netted enclosure set up in the bay already. She can come and go as she chooses. She’ll always be fed fresh fish since her instincts to hunt have been taken. More than likely she’ll hang back with her mom, who is usually seen traveling by her lonesome, sometimes seen with another orca from her L pod. We have learned a lot of things to do different this time- since the release of beloved Keiko.
Keiko’s pod could not be found in Iceland & that was a serious setback. Keiko could not hunt, a detrimental factor in his release. Keiko was denied human interaction, something we now know he shouldn’t have been denied of. We can’t expect a captured whale to automatically harness forgotten instincts, or even think we can teach her how to be wild.
What we are doing now- if I gather everything correctly, is try and repay her for what’s happened, & bow in her favor of course. All while continuing to work hard in changing the laws on obtaining whales & dolphins. Also releasing the remaining ones into sea pens, like Lolita.
