- South Florida is still mourning the Miami Seaquarium’s orca Lolita, who died last week, and now activists are hoping her death spurs the release of the Seaquarium’s last remaining dolphin that shared a tank with Lolita.
The CEOs belong in Jail!!!
PLEASE don’t let this be a repeat of what happened to Toki.That would just be sad.

I attend UGA and Lolitas body is here. People in athens and atlanta Georgia are very upset by the conditions at this aquarium and are preparing for protests and rallies to demand these animals be released and a boycott of these parks.

Praying this awful facility makes the right decision & finds somewhere for Li’i before it’s too late for him. He deserves to be with his family! It took WAY TOO LONG for Lolita’s release and it’s 100% unacceptable💔

Humans delude themselves that wild animals love them and while that might meet the human's momentary needs there is no equivalent replacement for the social interactions of their own pod they stay with for life. The greater number of years beyond the horror of what they did in capturing those young whales should have prompted them to do something sooner but instead they served their own emotional and monetary desires at the cost of these animal's freedom. If you put those two in the open ocean at any point they would not swim back to that bathtub aquarium and beg to perform. They did what they had to do to continue eating and living from the only source available. That's not love it's survival. And if they cared so much why did it take so much public pressure for so long to even begin a freeing process?

Im confused as hell--why did they send every other dolphin to the sanctuary, and just left this one to rot in an old, unsafe tank?
It's not like he troublesome, bad, dangerous dolphin--they even said how playful and friendly and gregarious he is, and he is related to the other dolphins, so i genuinely ask: why the hell was he left behind in the first place? And why is it even a question if he should be transferred? Of course he should be with his family.
Who even still goes to this place?? What kind of people are like "hey let me take my kids to go see an animal who is in pain physically and emotionally in an unnatural habitat do flips for dead fish, that sounds fun!

We seldom realize the entirety of exploiting fellow animals will always involve harm and violence.
Whats crazy to me is the bond we develop with these kind of animals in the wild is pretty amazing. Why we harbor them in small cells makes no sense. I see videos of orcas and dolphins helping people, interested in people, and generally pretty good when people are around in the wild pretty often.
Every person who went a paid to watch this has a hand in it. I dont care if you loved it as a child or not. The people responsible for this today were empowered to act as such by you
I'll never understand how any human would condone any of this keeping animals in tanks. What's wrong with the human race? Don't we know right from wrong? Poor little fellow needs to be freed. Shame on any hand involved in keeping them captive. Shame!!!!

After looking up what happened to Li’i he was moved to sea world in Texas. I wish it was in Chicago with his companion Loki and his son but I am really just happy to see something was done to save him.

He was Lolita’s tankmate. Loke and Elelo were sent to Shedd before Lolita died, while Li’i stayed behind as her companion. He was finally moved to SeaWorld San Antonio today.

Update: Li'i, who shared a tank with Tokitae until her death in August 2023 is now being kept at the SeaWorld park in San Antonio, Texas. Other Pacific white-sided dolphins are also kept there, two of them were at the Miami Seaquarium together with Li'i in the past. This move happened in September 2023.
This is just wrong...I've always felt strongly about these aquariums keeping these poor mammals from be free and outnin their own habitat where they belong. This is so sad.😢
