I gotta admit my favorite shot of this doll is at 21:56 - it just feels so realistic, like she actually has been out at the beach all day, got sunburned, and now is just chilling in her beach towel, with her swim-messed hair
Seriously. It makes me want to set the picture as my computer background for the sole purpose of the feeling it gives me. It makes me feel like I've just come out of the cold water, it's hot out, the breeze is picking up, I'm still getting sand out of unwanted places, and someone's lighting a campfire to get s'mores started. It makes me want to go to the beach for a week

Mai Tai is that girl who looks super intimidating but would make an offhanded compliment about a stranger's bathing suit without expecting them to hear it before heading off to do a photo shoot. Gorgeous, cool, and effortless. Great job!

There was a moana doll video that i watched that did that so badly she looked straight up white 💀 it's lazy and just not a skilled way of making faceups and it's not very inclusive. Katherine knows what's up
one of my favorite dolls that she made, she kept the black heritage of the original doll and that’s really a cool. a lot of artists tend to make characters like that white (or make them appear white)
She can draw, sculpt and sew! As well as being a great commentator and respectful to other cultures! I’m so happy I found her channel 💖

I've seen 90% of the videos from Katherine's channel and Mai Tai is my absolute favorite custom. Being from a tropical area myself her design and colors makes me feel so nostalgic and at home. Watching all the tiny adorable pieces come together made me nearly squeal!!!
I think a low-ponytail is more casual than a high-ponytail anyways, which suits the relaxed vibe this design has. She came out great!
I'm not sure if you fixed the head problem or not, but wrapping a few rubber bands around the neck peg usually helps

I think the only thing that could get me into doll making is the fact that I'm an illustrator first and foremost and I could distract myself with drawing when I'm not working on dolls.
I don't think I'm ready to start making dolls anytime soon, but it's appealed to me for YEARS, so I know I'll pick it up one day.

There are some waterproof acrylic paints if you do plan to use them for doll clothes that could get wet, like bathing suits and such. The only problem I can think of is that they most likely are super expensive and out of the budget of casual customizers.

For painting acrylic on fabric you can get fabric medium that you just mix into your acrylic instead of water, I have some and it works amazingly, stays solid and bright even after going through the wash multiple times

Even four years later, Mai Tai is still my favourite doll that Dollightful has ever made. She's part of such a wonderful collaboration, and she's also got such a gorgeous face. The sunkissed look really makes this doll so beautiful, especially in combination with the makeup and overall colour scheme. I always return to this video so I can see the process all over again!
