IDEA: I feel like the witch hat could be specifically for beginner witches, like a uniform, to identify that they’re new and therefor may be a hazard (hence candy corn for witch + traffic cone for careful) and more experienced or elder witches have the black hats!!
the white test hat she did first made me think that an elder mentor witch that dressed in all white would be cool. maybe theyre like tiers, with new witches having candy corn, experienced witches having black hats, and elder witches having white hats?

For aging paper, I have a tip! I went through a pirate phase when I was around 9, and aged paper to make maps. Soaking paper in coffee, and then trying it in front of a heat source is really good. The edges dark, and the paper yellows. Crumpling beforehand also creates pools that brown unevenly and sell the look. 🧡💜💚

This must be the cutest little witch ahhwww! I love the gradient on the skirt so much and the purple hair fits the color scheme so well! Also I am actually tempted to make candy corn earrings for myself now as well haha

2:33 this actually means a lot to me because I have that same nose. And a lot of people have made fun of me. Some even went as far to say it was a "pig nose." And it's always been one of my least favorite traits. But I've been learning to love myself, and this helped even though you weren't trying to. Thank you.

I learned that by mixing fabric softener with paint and then sealing it by ironing it, the paint won't stiffen the fabric when it dries. And it can water the paint down a smidge if needed. (for those who want to try this, it works the best with acrylic paint and a 1/4 ratio with any softener. and then to seal it, just iron it on a low setting after it dries)

Are there any side effects? Like, will the paint rub off or something along those lines, for example?
@@justlilli it might rub off over time or if the fabric gets distressed a lot but so far it’s worked really well for me! :D

I actually feel compelled to comment: this is the first doll video where I actually could see this creation on the shelf. Most art so pretty, but feel more artful, like statues. Key Wren has SUCH a good design and execution that I can see a whole doll line based off her. I think little girls would go crazy for her, I can totally see her sitting on a shelf at toys r us.

I am in love with her face!!! Purple in my opinion is such a classic Halloween color so I think it fit the design really well! Her outfit is adorable! Dollightful never fails to amaze her viewers and deliver spell-bounding (get it?) dolls!
The best part about doll clothing is that once you understand the conventions and basic parts, you can size it up for full sized garments and make outfits to match your favorite creation
Me: Yeah, reattaching the doll hands is a bit too trickey for me.
Dollightful: A *simple project,* no sculpting the body shape, face structure and joints this time.
(PS- I love the little skits you do at the ends of the videos! They're awesome!)

I love how cute her big eyes and big ears are together. It gives what otherwise could be a sinister spooky girl , a somewhat adorable and still childlike Wednesday’s Adams esque vibe. Super sweet !

She is so cute! I love how bubbly she looks yet those big eyes makes her kinda mysterious. She might be a witch in training but that's killer style! With the black makeup, it makes her eyelashes more fuller! So it gives her a more detailed appearance.

@@Wingedvictory267 so sorry, did see this! I'm using three colors of yarn from the same collection and they each have a main color and other colors in it. Maine colors are a purple red, a purple blue and a yellow/blue.
fun fact: in wiccan communities, "witches in training" are referred to as baby witches, which I think is very sweet!
Edit: realised this around the seventeen minute mark, but i also think it's rather fitting that i watched this video while getting viciously mauled by a tiny black kitten. (her name is squash and she was determined to step all over my keyboard so i'd pay attention to her. had to delete a bit of a /"""""""""""""""" from her attempts, lol)

Whenever I draw small pupils, I can never manage to get a relaxed look, they always looked like crazy eyes but you pulled it off perfectly!!
I've noticed, for me at least, it has a lot to do with eye brow placement
As Rae_Babes said, eyebrow placement is important. To add on to that, how much of the iris you can see and how heavy the eyelids are can affect the emotive feel of a drawing. I myself struggled with expressions(I'm faceblind, so it was exceptionally difficult for me, but you might have an easier time) once you get the hang of it, it'll come naturally. To avoid the crazy look, make the iris less visible(you can narrow the eyes for a scheming/bored expression) and avoid making the eyes too "empty". Too much sclera can give off crazy vibes. Mouth shape, placement, and the relaxing or tensing of the facial muscles is also key. It also WILL look weird while you're sketching. Sometimes you have to trust the process, and wait until you color/shade/both to get past the psycho stare. Hope that helps!

This came out just in time because I grabbed an Elissabat off ebay to give her a new dress and bought your steampunk pattern.
I'm head over heels in love with the color palette you've used for this character. The neon green accents and the orange gradient on the dress are my absolute favourite!

I love the sticky-outy ears. I’m tempted to make new ears for all my dolls because they’re so cute. Also from my experience relocating wolf ears, they’re good for hairstyles and hats, earrings show up better and you can make little face masks that actually stay on

Ahhh I love how much you've developed as a doll artist but I was nostalgic for a "simpler" doll transformation and this was it. No spoilers of course but that ending skit was magnificent, funny and spooky. My favorite parts was the Banshee's reactions and Ember being disgusted by pumpkin innards. XD

as a goth this is definitely not hardcore it’s very light and casual makeup
