Exactly! Real people get freaked out and need to calm down before they can handle the adrenaline rush to think straight. I like that they're trying to be smart but need some reassurance and advice to get themselves safe; it's so realistic.

I absolutely love how far the game has come since its original state. They made the premise make a lot more sense, focusing in on the real horrors of living in a small town--nobody's prepared for something like this. I love how intuitive the cabinet puzzle felt; to me it made sense because he'd have to be close enough to lock that door quickly on the wary killer. I also note the ominous names of Roddy Snatcher's "I Will Find You"/"Final Breath"--makes me wonder if he's meant to be a red herring or even the killer! So many interesting elements.

I feel like Ryan’s ADHD tendencies make this game a poor fit for him. He can’t sit still and actually listen to the calls and choose the logical options. For example, he forgot that Maurice was in the boardroom (a fact that Maurice made sure to make clear), and then Ryan forgot that fact because he was distracted by several other things, and had to see the FAX machine on the building layout diagram to determine that’s where Maurice is, rather than just remembering the original fact. And then, even after Ryan determined that Maurice must be in the Boardroom, he literally forgot 15 seconds later. Later, Maurice had a plan to lure the killer through his own office into the secret archives to lock him in… and Ryan assumed the office NOT connected to the secret archives was Maurice’s office, rather than the office labeled “Editor’s office” (which Maurice earlier claimed he was the editor) All in all, Ryan gets distracted way too easily, doesn’t listen, and makes the worst decisions, so… HE’S JUST LIKE ME ❤
I was literally face-palming when he decided to call the archives room instead of the kitchen. Like Maurice had explained that he was in archives to get the radio, so the smart move would have been to lure the killer to the kitchen so that Maurice could then sneak to the editor's office, plant the radio, then have him hide in the boardroom and lure the killer.
There's something so captivating about this game that just makes me want to see more of it. It has pretty good pacing, and really good voice acting. Although I have to say that when I first heard the name "The Whistling Man" I kinda just laughed out loud 💀; the name's a little too on the nose, but I genuinely want to see a Part 2 on this because it has me hooked and I want to see what happens next..
40:33 wow i was thinking that the segment was heavily inspired by Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, nice to see that the achivement gives it a callout as well
As soon as the killer was locked into the archive with the radio, and Forrest started teeling everyone about that damn radio station like he does every bloody time, I knew it was going to come back to bite him when the killer slipped a very obvious tape under the door. Like bruh, if anything you painted the biggest bloody target on your back.
cant wait for the second part! glad it doesnt just end there. i am still a little skeptical about Peggy though. she might not be the whistling man, but somewhat associated in this entire mess.
When Maurice was at the kitchen was able to go to the archives secrets. I WAS YELLING FOR HIM TO THROW SOMETHING INTO THE ROOM THAT WOULD BREAK SINCE HE COULD ENTER AND LOCK THE SLAM THE DANG DOOR ON THE WHISTLING MAN
For the "trying to unlock the cell door" thing, understandable that the sheriff would have a skeleton key or a master key as other call it to unlock the cell door and other cell doors if the primary set of keys were lost/destroyed/discarded....the sheriff is like the "boss" of the department (Edit: I hate horror and got scared from watching the conjuring 2 Enfield hauntings and this game is going to give me nightmares)
