It is a pleasant surprise, but the game does kind of foreshadow it. While his initial dialogue is off-putting, he doesn't actually hit on Suzie, unlike the creep at the doorway.
Reminds me of the creepy moped guy from Scooby-Doo, It's All Greek to Scooby, wherein the guy was yelling in a language they couldn't understand well what they thought was some sort of curse while chasing after the gang. Turns out he was actually just a elderly local, who only knew greek, and was trying to return Daphne's purse. The cursing was because Freddy mistook what he said and translated it wrong.
I love how confronting the killer with the logic of his mother results in him throwing a tantrum of how you ruined the plot of the horror movie killer's motive and slumps away angrily. lol

I like to imagine that the Blood in the Water ending where Suzie kills Caleb with the screwdriver has her enjoying herself a bit too much. He mentions that the rainman won't find them, and she kills him while saying something like "then, no one will find your body either".
The slasher tribute was really great, I love the perspective of the multiple endings and how Suzie can (or not) become the trope of the "Final Girl", this one was very interesting!

Funny how a screwdriver is a more effective weapon than a pistol (at least in that one ending). Also was there only 1 bullet in the garage? The gun was a revolver, I guess? Probably could have shot again otherwise.
This was a pretty neat game! I like that it’s not just “oooo scary killer man” but that we actually get to uncover the killer’s trauma and why he targets those specific girls. The branching endings are really nice.
