Creepy Joe not being an actual creep, just awkward has got to be some of 2023’s biggest plot twist
It is a pleasant surprise, but the game does kind of foreshadow it. While his initial dialogue is off-putting, he doesn't actually hit on Suzie, unlike the creep at the doorway.
Reminds me of Lester from House Of Wax in a way
@@sxatcychan1988yeah and his initial behavior can be explained by him being drunk at the diner too
Reminds me of the creepy moped guy from Scooby-Doo, It's All Greek to Scooby, wherein the guy was yelling in a language they couldn't understand well what they thought was some sort of curse while chasing after the gang. Turns out he was actually just a elderly local, who only knew greek, and was trying to return Daphne's purse. The cursing was because Freddy mistook what he said and translated it wrong.
because the real creeps are the drag queen story time joes
Caleb giving her the umbrella may be a way to follow her in the rain and identify her more easily in the rain while following her home.
She was dressed in her work uniform though so not like she'd be hard to identify anyway.
@@zerrodefex A big umbrella is easier to see and follow in a dark storm than a little person. That is what the comment meant.
So the rain man locked the front door from outside? He must be aware of the spare key under the rock trope.
I keep asking "How?!"
Locking up from the outside would drive me loco.
@@magical-soap5359I keep asking *"how?!"* am I too damn stupid to just unlock the door
He's is her ex so he probably have a spare key
@@guhb1531Andy is the ex

I love how confronting the killer with the logic of his mother results in him throwing a tantrum of how you ruined the plot of the horror movie killer's motive and slumps away angrily. lol
@@joeyghostx “it’s MY homicidal delusion and it has to go MY way” 😤
Seems to me like confronting him with the truth shook him hard enough to snap him out of his psychotic state.
@@bluegirl278 "well It's unfun when you put it that way...☹️"
4/7 is by far the best ending, its the least where people die, andy proven himself and got to apologize in the end, and the killer “probably” didnt die.
5/7 also is pretty high on the good endings because again, very few people die and the killer most likely won't kill anymore.
5/7 could theoretically have the cop survive, but I doubt it.
i didn't read this right and thought you were rating the ending n i was like "dam that's a weird scale but alr"
5/7 has 1 less death, as Caleb himself dies and the detective in 4/7... Where 5/7 only has the detective die...
Thank you for playing my game! It warms my heart to read all the comments as well!
I will definitely make more games like this. Happy Halloween all!
Great game. Love the story
Keep up the good work 🙏
Your game is so interesting! Keep it up! :)
Interesting game but totally increase the gore . I would've loved to see the killer hunt down the none important characters. Like some of his earlier victims
Np! Its november though
I like how when Suzie gets outside it feels like we're watching her from a distance like a stalker/the rainman.
I didn't notice until you pointed it out. That's such a cool detail
I like how in ending 5 he is just like "damn, you just ruined the vibe! Go away" XD
I like this dev, 80's horror vibes are classic. They seem to put out stuff pretty quick, too.
I like this art style. The art style and the big trees everywhere. idk, it gives me those good halloween vibes that I've been missing in recent years.
I know right!!!, like this art style is a Halloween vibes i love, i see so much games like this and i just love seeing it, it's a vibe i enjoy the most so that's why i practicing to do pixel art and stuff to make good games like this
I thought you're me for a second.
“Woah there’s a person and they’re human!” Honestly me when I have to socialize
Rainman is absolutely killing me with his whistling on this Halloween.
Happy, happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
Happy happy Halloween, Silver Shamrocks
Er what?
It’s London bridge is falling down, a classic nursery rhyme about people drowning.
@@bahamut256 It's also the tune used for the Silver Shamrocks commercial from Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. Given the other slasher/horror movie references in the game, this is likely the intended reference (alongside the "creepy nursery rhymes" trope). 🎃
I think it's a double entendre, given the killer was drowned as a baby and drowns the main character during bad endings. So on the surface level it's meant to just be London Bridge, but a nice double entendre for those that know about Halloween 3.@@voidbreather7405
Man i thought it was London Bridge 💀
@@Gardeningismypassion833 Tbf, it is London Bridge. lol.
Ah I couldn’t have asked for a better Halloween upload, I loved Happyhills Homicide, cant wait to see what story this one has in store for us!
Perfect way to warm up is watching Manly play games after trick or treating.
REAL
Sounds fun
I'm late, but yep!
The slasher tribute was really great, I love the perspective of the multiple endings and how Suzie can (or not) become the trope of the "Final Girl", this one was very interesting!
I'd try to find an alternate path if all the streets I walked had names like "Krueger Pass." Feels like a bad omen. But it is Happyhills, so surely that's not sinister foreshadowing!
Funny how a screwdriver is a more effective weapon than a pistol (at least in that one ending). Also was there only 1 bullet in the garage? The gun was a revolver, I guess? Probably could have shot again otherwise.
5:33 "he could even be-" *boom*
"WOAH WOAH WOAH"
"What? It was obvious, he's the rainman, it's gonna stop raining any second now... any second now... see? Sun! Oh wait, that's a window"
“So, we still have problem,”
The little inclusion of Caleb whistling London Bridge is pretty cool
I like to imagine that the Blood in the Water ending where Suzie kills Caleb with the screwdriver has her enjoying herself a bit too much. He mentions that the rainman won't find them, and she kills him while saying something like "then, no one will find your body either".
I liked the varied endings. That's always kind of fun.
Lol Manly's "Ooh, I've been slapped" made me laugh so hard 😂😂
The developer is taking dumb teens in horror movies to levels never seen before😂.
Watching Suzi panic about being locked inside her house by the front door felt like seeing babies struggle with object permanence.
What do you mean The Rainman LOCKED you INSIDE your house from OUTSIDE the front door!? Girl, do you live in a shed!? How is that even possible!? JUST FLIP THE DEADBOLT OPEN AND UNLOCK THE DOOR!!!!
I was thinking this the whole damn time!!
What kind of door is this, if it can only be opened via a key...for both ends. Does this mean your screwed if someone leaves the key in one end, making it impossible to use yours from the other side? Sounds like a terrible design flaw, what is this door lol
@@adrianna8214European houses and older homes with windows near the door have this. Makes thiefs take longer getting out should they not have keys.
And then Andy opens the door from outside somehow, did they install the door wrong?
@@Wizard9621
No wonder these girls have been dropping like flies. Everyone has the key hole on the inside of their door.
@@adrianna8214 Well, a ton of older locks in homes here in Brazil are like that. I myself got locked out like that once
Slayaway Camp is another "play as the killer" game, just more puzzle heavy
I agree that Happyhills Homicide is better, but this is still a fun time. I'm surprised how many endings actually have you live, normally you get one at most.
For some reason there is nothing going on this Halloween, even stores and whatnot don't have typical Halloween ads or decorations. Probably because economy is so fckin bad here, but at least having Manly upload spoopy fun stuff brings some good mood
And it's cold as heck out tonight too.
nothing over here either, didn't have much of a halloween-spirit,
maybe next year will be better :3!
@@Konani_the_unicorn_queenhopefully 😭
This was a pretty neat game! I like that it’s not just “oooo scary killer man” but that we actually get to uncover the killer’s trauma and why he targets those specific girls. The branching endings are really nice.
When he started whistling London bridge is falling down it gave me chills
It reminds me of the dezzaired version
I’m really liking this dev. The games are a bit simple but the style is pleasant and the endings are cool!
my favorite part of this game is the not the usual name changing like "???" "*insert name*", like "rude guest" to "guest" and "creepy joe" to "joe"
Yeah that's very clever! I love little details like that
I loved all the subtle nods to horror icons, pop culture, and other indie games. I think my favourite was the reference to indie game Perfect Vermin (I believe that was the name?) in the news broadcast.
i like the perspective being behind the trees lol, makes it feel as though he's watching u the entire time or smthg
I was in the hospital from January 2023 to April 2023 and manlybadasshero got me through it. I'd watch all his videos all the time while I was in that place. I still watch his videos today and just really appreciate them. ❤
That's sweet, I'm glad you're doing much better now!
I keep hearing Rainman as Rayman.
I guess not having a new game in a decade will do that to you.
Lmao real
*hands you Captain Laserhawk with a smile
You can defeat the rainman with a rain dance off.
How do I do the rain dance?
@@UNSTABLEOTTERRRKindacraz-xi8fj
As a general guideline:
1. Never do a rain dance on a hill.
2. Make sure you have a lot of room so you don’t run into anything.
3. Spin around in clockwise circles.
4. Make up your own rain chant. It should be rhythmical
and easy to say fast.
5. Yell your rain chant while spinning around in circles.
6. If you are trying to get rid of rain, spin in counterclockwise circles and say your chant backward.
@@redundantfridge97647. Make sure your arms are perpendicular to your torso, so as to slap anything in proximity, & assume dominance over your opponent and the rain.
@@redundantfridge9764 Very cool explanation you guys! I was just saying something silly, but appreciate learning more about practices and rituals. Thanks for the info
@@scp-682-cu6don't believe everything you see. I don't know shit about rain dances, but I'm sure many cultures have different ways. Taking comments as fact without any research is why people put sandpaper on their windshield wipers and pour hot water on their icy windshields to defrost them. You'll need new windshields.
I like it how the killer whistles london bridge is falling down
I just love the art style of these games so much
I agree!
The perspective shifts are the unique flavor of the triple H game. Cool to see them make a more linear story tho, especially since the pixel art is clean.
I would like an aftermath of ending 5/7 tbh, I want everyone to be happy there 😭😭😭😭 same with Caleb.
Why do these never take advantage of 80s horror series progression? Rain Man, Rain Man Returns, Rain Man vs Happy Hills and then Rain Man in Space
Out of all the creepy whistle song the Rainman could've chose, he chose London bridge is falling down! Why not Rain, rain, go away or it's raining, it's pouring for the rain theme! If you're going to be a serial killer with a creepy theme song, at least make it thematically appropriate!
When London bridge falls people will drown because it’s over water?
@@maddieb.4282 a bit of a stretch but okay

I only found this channel about a month ago, but it's one of the few channels that I get excited about when they upload.
I have watched you for years, Manly. Thanks so much for being so consistently awesome all this time. You're the best man!
"That horror game with the slasher clown" doesn't narrow it down, there's been a billion of those :P (I do remember Happyhills Homicide though)

With that last ending, like I get she feels bad for him, but shes just doomed another (probably more) to death. He ain't stoping, he just didn't like she had figured him out.
28:58 Never heard Manly raising he’s voice until now XD
Should anyone tell this guy about "The Witch's House" playthrough?
I like that there's a true pacifist ending. And a Final Girl ending.

"Strode" street like Laurie strode , and "Craven" like Wes Craven
I have a feeling that Jason X'ed himself. All of that anger and habit/desire to kill those girls, I doubt he would let it go. I mean, that was kind of his purpose at this point. He was doing it for so long that it was basically all he could think about. To just give all of that up instantly would not only be hard, but be very depressing and confusing.
Happy Halloween, manlybadasshero, and to everyone else 🎃 👻 🐈⬛️
Love 80s horror movies! Great take on it.
I never thought I'd read "He's Inside Behind You" let alone as a title
we all love games like these, keep up the great work manly!
Am I the only one who thinks the Rain Man should've whistled "Rain, Rain, Go Away" instead of London Bridge? It'd sound creepier too. His whole shtick would be wanting to "play" with you.
And after giving him the talk-no-jutsu, he'd tell you "...But, I always come again.... *another day."* 💀😂.
probably because London bridge is a Lot easier to Whistle to
@@xboxoneyes7734 Nah, London Bridge has more syllables so I reckon it'd take more huffs of air to whistle.
@@spaghetto9836 Ok now that i think about it, That's kinda true
@@spaghetto9836just tried both, rain rain has notes that sound pretty close to each other so its slightly harder to whistle clearly but london bridge has lower notes that can be hard to hit
but both are pretty easy to whistle and about the same difficulty
Manly saying "wassssuuuuuup" made my day
I love all the cheesy little horror references like Strode st., Krueger pass, Mr. Craven, Mr. Loomis etc. 🤣 The devs must've had fun.
I enjoy this dev's works so much tbh
Caleb: “I will kill you and wash away my hate for mother!”
Susie: “… But I’m not your mother. I’m also sorry for what she did to you.”
Caleb: “**sniffle** That’s all I ever wanted to hear.”
Dunno which is scarier to imagine, being stalked by a serial killer or being stuck in a dead end diner job and living with parents.
at least the boss and his partner (?) are nice people!
The latter isn't so bad if your family is loving, supportive, and good, you're slowly working your way to something better, have a seemingly nice boss like the one she does, and you have a partner that would risk their lives for you.
It's not perfect, but it's not bad.

_London bridge is falling down_ ♫ ♩
The whistle was excellent - really unnerving because of that sliding around of the tune. This was pretty good homage to slasher flicks, with decent backstory for the killer, giving the rationale for his actions and timing of his attacks, and a good reason for the choice of victim. I liked the different endings that gave more info and different info each time, so it was worth getting them all to get the full story. I enjoyed it and it felt old school in the best way possible.

Man Joe is just the mvp of this game huh. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to hop in the van when he showed up, and whaddaya know, his lighter ends up helping in nearly every one of the good endings. He was a creep at first (and will probably remain one), but he's kinda chill.
Also, Manly, do you intend to play Little Goody Two Shoes? It came out today on Steam and I think it would be a great series for you to take on!
I really hope you play Little Goody two shoes!!! It looks like a really beautiful game!
With heavy rain and a in the rain killer that already killed a colleague, having missed the bus because of work, I'd wait for Dave to close up too, to ask for a ride home (or call a taxi).
so i noticed in the Happyhill Homicide one or whatever it was called, the street a murder took place on was called Elm Street. Just noticed in this one the street is called Strode Street. And then Krueger Pass.
