This game is unintentionally hilarious. 💀 Ashley sassily swinging the trash bags down the hall before just full on slamming them into the dumpster like she had a personal vendetta against them killed me harder than the entity.
The way Ashley power walks/sprints with conviction and throws away the trash, I was lowkey hoping she'd be able to have that same energy fighting back the cryptid
I got in trouble in my younger years and had to do community service as a janitor's assistant at school and the courthouse. Janitors usually have a cart that they can load all the trash at once into, so not to make so many trips. I have yet to see a game actually incorporate that.
I've seen those even in other places. Worked in a few offices where a guy would come by with one of those cart things to collect everyone's wastebasket. Its not some novelty, its a common thing and yes should be in the games! Have you ever played Viscera Cleanup Detail? you have to grab each individual piece of trash one at a time and walk over to an incinerator...so inefficient!
I like how this game uses the fixed camera angles to play with dramatic irony. In a first person or more traditional third person game, when something scary happens but the player character doesn't react appropriately (i.e. immediately getting the hell out of there), it can weaken suspension of disbelief and take players out of the story. But when the monster is only visible to the player, while the character they control is clueless, it avoids that problem while also making you feel utterly powerless to prevent what you know is coming. Works well in this game, and I'd love to see more games play with that sort of stuff.
@@Chae_driatic maybe, if you're talking about the definition as it is applied to literature? But when talking about video games specifically, "third person" pretty much exclusively refers to how the camera functions, which is what I meant in my first comment. I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to a game as having a "second person" camera, nor can I really imagine what that would look like off the top of my head. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong though

This game looks pretty well-made, all things considered. The animations are a bit janky (Especially the walk cycles); Even old PS1 games had at least decent walk cycles. But the voice acting, particularly Ashley's, is _on point._ Towards the end, it really does sound like she's scared out of her mind. The sound design seems pretty good, and the PS1-era art style does wonders for the horror. (Spoiler warning for the "read more" section) What I think is most disturbing about this entity is the fact that it's essentially doing this for sport. _Purely_ for sport, too; judging by the bodies left behind, it doesn't eat any of its victims - hell, it doesn't even seem to try. Which implies that it doesn't require food in the traditional sense, so the only thing it stands to gain from this bloodbath is the pure enjoyment. Monsters killing people is nothing out of the ordinary in the horror genre, but usually the monster is either mindless, or only as smart as an animal. But it's crystal clear that this thing is pretty damn smart. For one, it actually seems to _like_ the fact that an organization is tracking it, as the game straight-up says it "permitted" the cameras to continue rolling. Second, it knew how to pick up and operate a telephone, and did so with the express permission of distracting its victim. It was also able to cut the power to an entire building, while somehow leaving the security cameras operational. And then there's the threatening email about Ashley being its "happy place", complete with a creepy face. Doing this didn't distract or even hinder its victim, so it's yet another indication that the entity *LOVES* what it does to people. And given the rampage it goes on near the end, it seems that it could've killed Ashley and her co-workers whenever it wanted to, but deliberately delayed the payoff so it could savor the mounting terror and desperation of its prey. Seriously, this thing is on _Freddy Kreuger_ levels of pure fucking evil. And the Crisis agents somehow manage to be just as evil as the monster, if not more so, as they knew these people were in grave danger, and just sat back and watched. Hell, the agent posing as a 911 operator deliberately blared a sound that she knew would get Ashley killed. Granted, Ashley was probably doomed anyway, but the emergency noise didn't help matters in the slightest. And then there's that agent casually having a smoke as he listens to the workers getting torn to shreds. And lastly, the Crisis agents portray Ashley as a mass shooter - Ashley was not only a mother, but a _single_ mother, so just imagine what her kid(s) would go through. Going into foster care while being convinced their birth mother was an unhinged psycho. Am I reading too much into this? Eh, probably. But it's what I'm here for :P
You’re too reading too deep into it at all, stuff like this makes these short games great. Stuff like the agents being just as bad as the monster when they could probably take it down with a .45 or two and save all those people, or how the public will view poor Ashley.

Ashley is a prime example of someone who values their workplace way, WAY more than their workplace values them. The end result is pretty much what you'd expect. All in all, though? While a bit tropey, and a bit on the frustrating side? This wasn't bad, especially when compared to that awful dumpster-fire Pinocchio game.
@@DigiYF More "injury/dismemberment/death as a result of poor workplace safety," and people are monsters more often than not these days... So, yeah, kinda.
A huge improvement over the first game. I think the fixed camera angles work a lot better with the premise, they add to the clinical, neutral observer we know recorded all of this. Pretty brutal too, especially their cover story.
Hoodie guy was in the first game. They say he's insignificant but I'm actually pretty sure he's our whistleblower (this was mentioned in the first game that if Valerie isn't found more tapes would be released.)
I really like the lighting and shadow rendering in this game. The highlight reflection on the ground is pretty realistic. And the win 95 desktop brings childhood memories.
This game perspective is SO unique, being a 3rd person point of view watching yourself walk around knowing what’s going to happen to your player character eventually. You know this character is doomed, and has been from the start, but you don’t know WHEN that doom is coming.
Her quick walk looks like someone just accelerated the footage, she dunk the trash like an angry teen forced to do chores, I almost expected her to throw the plates ultimate frisbee style XD The entity's just having fun. Imagine it taking selfies like "B*tch didn't even see me lol" "Felt spooky, might clap some guys later." The more I think about it, the sillier it gets 😂
The responder knew what was happening. She said 'should I do this' before making loud sounds on the phone to lure the monster to kill Ashley. Well, I wonder if she can live with what she did.
What I don't get is that prior employees are willing to tie the bags for you but not take them out, and that seemingly a regular office employee is in charge of clearing said bags. The office space is so orderly to do that but cannot hire a dedicated cleaner? I get that this is probably intended, but no one including the employee questioned this?
🤔 Maybe they invented some bullshit, something like they lost the contract with the cleaning company and it'll take them a while before getting another one. Then they asked Ashley if she wanted to do the work to get more money, since she is a single mom in need of money, she obviously said yes. Since it wasn't her normal job, her colleages helped her by tying the bags. It's my headcanon anyway
They really need to make this into one long-play game. Different entities and different scenarios. Maybe nonlinear and keep the hybrid second-person/third-person POV. PS: Without giving out specific names, you need to tell us of those true stories about your friends who worked alone and it ended violently.
Soon as I heard call center I knew it was gonna be a horror story. I like this arg series just like fears to fathom with them being created based on stories from reddit both real and fiction.
15:14 has got to be the funniest moment of this for me 😂 thank you for making horror games feel safe to watch while never disrespecting them and the craft, Manly, I love that about you
Motherfucker that scare got me good, I thought the creature was gonna rip through multiple people at once but turns out it decided to say “wassup chucklefuck”
Voice acting for Ashley is absolutely primo. Great idea by this author! Can't help but feel that it might have been a better animation than a game, though. Still, terrific work and I loved it.
Right at the start when the main character is walking around reminds me why I love fixed camera games, it looks like the main character is a roomba moving around the office. So goofy and I needed this chuckle today
The cris*s actor angle is definitely an interesting twist on this genre. The powerful imagery of all the office workers doing their jobs right besides a bloody corpse reminds me a lot of Brazil with that kind of bureaucratic apathy. Or even Scanner Darkly. This idea that you're a cog doing profoundly evil things whose machinations are opaque and uncertain. Although the story itself fails to embody that theme of paranoia and resentment of authority which the Scanner Darkly movie pulled off so shrewdly and is arguably the emotional core of the cris*s actor trope itself.
Considering the lady didn't know how to stack 3 plates let alone carry 4 bags of trash, it's no wonder she was stupid enough to go for the phone instead of the door. Unintentionally hilarious game
You most likely won't see this but I wanted to say that it's been a long while since I last watched Manly, although just a few months but still he publishes a lot. Due to being busy with college and other projects but coming back to finally sit back and relax to watch your videos are an awesome feeling after a long month even if now is just my only time to relax till I get back to college tomorrow.
As someone who used to do after hours cleaning let me tell you that it was a really comfy job for someone who love working alone. As long as you did all the obvious things like emptying the garbage cans no one would complain if you didn't vacuum that day. Lots of time to sit on your phone looking at memes.
_MBH gives a little laugh with the creature jumpscare_ You laughed, but I jumped for sure! I thought the creature was very freaky walking on all fours. I liked the use of the cameras. I wanted to have even more 'under the table' or odd angled cameras to catch the creature watching the victim, stalking them. I felt really bad for Ashley being blamed as a psycho killer of everyone else, but it's not out of the realm of possibility somehow. Well done and look forward to more creature features!
Nervous laughing is a kind of defense mechanism i guess, i assumed manly also jumped a bit before the laugh, I've seen him jerk the mouse when getting jumpscared which what I do too.
@@cataclysm7256 I think he was more amused by it, not nervous. It was a big jump scare right 'in your face' - you'd have to be completely dead not to react. But he remains unphased and never really scared. Typical of him to just give a chuckle lol!
Really feels like using the undisclosed women's bathroom camera to reveal the entity watching Ashley from just underneath the other bathroom stall would've been an amazing usage for it.
@@ShatposterSupreme Something like that, yes lol. Bathroom cam actually put there by entity would have explained it in a funnier way vs making company creepy watching people wash at sink -- entity likes to stalk prey.
i believe those 2 guys left working in the end was just a bug bcs even their seats werent under their butts, probably models stuck\glitched or something
Damn McDonald's and a nightly manly video??? Life is good ❤. P.s 100% agree about taking the fear away that's why they shouldn't reveal that part till the end.
Hey Manly, I told my mom on you and she told me to tell you that you're grounded for 2 weeks. So hopefully you use this time to reflect on what you've done and pursue the betterment of yourself. I'll see you back on RUclips in 2 weeks, so long as you've learned your lesson and stay out of trouble.
Gonna be honest, I never really like these kinds of games where the protagonist dies like how they do in this kind of story. Where the person just happens to be unlucky and thrown into a test a group for some reason is doing.
Going to say, the only weird thing left at the end of a day is usually me, full pelt singing through the halls, no promises of how good the singing is.
the thing is imagine if Ashley went full ominid/cave-man on the cryptid and bashed its torso multiple times with an fire extinguisher after blinding it with the foam in a adrenalin burst she could have survived in a non cannon(?) secret ending i say this because in real life a mother lifted a car(partialy )to save her kid from under it so ashley swinging a extinguisher like it was a cilindical base ball bat wouldn't be too out there
That monster was lucky that Ashley got distracted. Had she gotten a hold on it, the crawly boi would get smacked against floor harder than those trash bags. Talk about cleaning crew after that
I've been the last one out at work to close up for a holiday (a large supermarket, not an office building) a few times and it's not anywhere near as scary as these games try to make it seem. The building is your turf, if someone or something broke in you'd be at an advantage. Now leaving and crossing an empty parking lot in a sketchy area with drug addicts and actually dangerous mentally ill people, that's the scary part.
24:20 i just wonder why would any entity care about attacking an security camera, like "i really need to vulgarly display raw agression toward theses god damned LENS"

Y-you expect to have monsters set on you by the government if you like your job disproportionately to how your employers treat you?
@@DigiYF
More "injury/dismemberment/death as a result of poor workplace safety," and people are monsters more often than not these days... So, yeah, kinda.
@@G0thCrayon I'd rather the SCP honestly, make it a bit more exciting, but fair.
@@DigiYF
Agreed, at least then my death could be the inspiration for a rad horror game.
@G0thCrayon What do you mean "poor workplace safety"?
A huge improvement over the first game. I think the fixed camera angles work a lot better with the premise, they add to the clinical, neutral observer we know recorded all of this. Pretty brutal too, especially their cover story.
Hoodie guy was in the first game. They say he's insignificant but I'm actually pretty sure he's our whistleblower (this was mentioned in the first game that if Valerie isn't found more tapes would be released.)
If only Ashley had saved her pent up aggression, she may have been able to fight off the entity.
How sad that she released it all on those trash bags.
Good ol’ Manly, always releasing a video before I go to bed!

I really like the lighting and shadow rendering in this game. The highlight reflection on the ground is pretty realistic. And the win 95 desktop brings childhood memories.
With the strength she had dunking those bags she could have easily punched the monster XD
Night 2: *finds menacing note newly written on computer* *doesn't call police or leave* *investigates power outage rather than getting out*
Yeah, figured that out, too. This game only gets dumber the more you think about it.
This game perspective is SO unique, being a 3rd person point of view watching yourself walk around knowing what’s going to happen to your player character eventually. You know this character is doomed, and has been from the start, but you don’t know WHEN that doom is coming.
Manly can map the backrooms like a pro but forgets where cafeteria is 😣
i love how the entity is smart enough to open ms paint and draw a threatening message
Being smart is one thing, but capable?
With those spider legs and claws, how tf was it able to draw that?
Man's played SO many horror games, he is JADED to them all. Nothing scares him anymore. Not even clowns
You somehow make horror games 99.9% less scary 😂
Agreeddddde
Her quick walk looks like someone just accelerated the footage, she dunk the trash like an angry teen forced to do chores, I almost expected her to throw the plates ultimate frisbee style XD
The entity's just having fun. Imagine it taking selfies like
"B*tch didn't even see me lol"
"Felt spooky, might clap some guys later."
The more I think about it, the sillier it gets 😂
"Why do men only go for regular bitches?" *Wipes tears with disembodied arm*
Yeah, this game is kind of dumb
The responder knew what was happening. She said 'should I do this' before making loud sounds on the phone to lure the monster to kill Ashley. Well, I wonder if she can live with what she did.
She wasn't asking because it was immoral, but for her cue to do it... She was perfectly fine with it.
@@senpyrothewizard8172 Oh, I thought she was doubting herself.
@@zyc6153 it's just my theory, since she didn't hesitate. It could be interpreted as asking her superiors if she should, rather than herself.
What even was the logic behind that action? Seriously, are these people untrained Homunculus?
True ending: Ashley just slams a trashbag on the monster and breaks it in half
Lego brick noises
I was half-expecting Ashley to slam dunk the dishes into the sink like she did with the trash bags
🤔
Maybe they invented some bullshit, something like they lost the contract with the cleaning company and it'll take them a while before getting another one.
Then they asked Ashley if she wanted to do the work to get more money, since she is a single mom in need of money, she obviously said yes.
Since it wasn't her normal job, her colleages helped her by tying the bags.
It's my headcanon anyway
When I worked as a janitor it could've been possible for the workers to take out their own trash they just didn't
"Are you the entity or are you just a guy with a poor fashion sense?"
DAMN
They really need to make this into one long-play game. Different entities and different scenarios. Maybe nonlinear and keep the hybrid second-person/third-person POV.
PS: Without giving out specific names, you need to tell us of those true stories about your friends who worked alone and it ended violently.
First five minutes this lady got to take you out more than any of your fans. Heartbreaking.
Soon as I heard call center I knew it was gonna be a horror story. I like this arg series just like fears to fathom with them being created based on stories from reddit both real and fiction.
I was so focused on the bugged-out office workers at the end that the jumpscare caught me completely off-guard
I don't know if it was intentional, but the potential characterization through animation was great! She really doesn't like her job lol
The government wanting to use a giant, unsubtle monster will never not be funny.
Love your videos manly. Your voice is so calming.
I love how the fixed camera angle lets them scare the player without scaring the character so you can keep working without it being a weird idea
15:14 has got to be the funniest moment of this for me 😂 thank you for making horror games feel safe to watch while never disrespecting them and the craft, Manly, I love that about you
The presentation of this game is so solid
Motherfucker that scare got me good, I thought the creature was gonna rip through multiple people at once but turns out it decided to say “wassup chucklefuck”
24:26
THAT JUMPSCARE SCARED ME SO BAD I THREW MY PHONE , I'VE NEVER BEEN THAT SCARED
Its night and i almost screamed
*startled
I can't get over how she slam the trash bag so violently
Voice acting for Ashley is absolutely primo. Great idea by this author! Can't help but feel that it might have been a better animation than a game, though. Still, terrific work and I loved it.
Not enough ppl are talking about the damn feet cam footage in the women's bathroom! No one leaves their phones running for no reason 💀
Are you seriously censoring the word "crisis"?
Manly, knows how to make a horror game more funny and fascinating ❤
Considering the lady didn't know how to stack 3 plates let alone carry 4 bags of trash, it's no wonder she was stupid enough to go for the phone instead of the door. Unintentionally hilarious game
And how instead of fighting the monster with that Strenght just died dude
Yeah, games are only as smart as the people that make and play them.
Being a janitor myself, I have needed to fight something else other then a third leg.
I paused right before the jumpscare to see if the living employees were bugged and then unpaused and immediately got jumpscared. God damnit lol
Manly makes the best bedtime videos
As someone who used to do after hours cleaning let me tell you that it was a really comfy job for someone who love working alone. As long as you did all the obvious things like emptying the garbage cans no one would complain if you didn't vacuum that day. Lots of time to sit on your phone looking at memes.
Love you manly. Love your once a year community posts. You are truly the best kind of youtuber
_MBH gives a little laugh with the creature jumpscare_
You laughed, but I jumped for sure!
Bathroom cam actually put there by entity would have explained it in a funnier way vs making company creepy watching people wash at sink -- entity likes to stalk prey.
i dont have to wake up early to work tomorrow, i can watch as many manly videos as i want, lets gooooooo
with how ashley treated those trashbags i'm amazed she didn't beat the entity within an inch of its life
When Manly said "Ashley Johnson" I literally rose from a dead sleep and responded "A family company" according to my wife.
I am broken. Help me.
I was wondering why that name sounded familiar.
Also she’s a prominent voice actress from Critical Role
*Unholy creature of hell terrorizing people*
Those dudes who were still working: "These bills ain't paying themselves."
Tbh, looking at this thing, I can't really imagine it killing off an office full of people. You get one person per leg and just pull.
I don't believe ashley didn't survive. Look at that power walk. Look at the way she throws the trash. She's the real powerful entity here
i believe those 2 guys left working in the end was just a bug bcs even their seats werent under their butts, probably models stuck\glitched or something
Damn McDonald's and a nightly manly video??? Life is good ❤.
P.s 100% agree about taking the fear away that's why they shouldn't reveal that part till the end.
Im sorry but 23:28 made me laugh my ass off so much. From the strut down to the pose and scream, it looked like a comedy bit.
4:13 everytime manly makes a joke like that i get a little sad, you're not trash manly
Ain’t no way they had a live feet cam in the women’s bathroom 💀
Im sorry, but the thought of pastyface mclonglegs drawing on ms paint is just too funny to take seriously 🤣
The real cryptid is the chunky controls and the way she just sort of moonwalks and slams into walls.
Every time, Ashley is like, “FUCK these garbage bags!”
Lmao what
I told my mommy on him too, he’s actually grounded for 3 weeks and he needs to do chores. I truly hope he can reflect on what happened.
@@shell_razorthey’re referring to 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵
NOOOOOO
Gonna be honest, I never really like these kinds of games where the protagonist dies like how they do in this kind of story. Where the person just happens to be unlucky and thrown into a test a group for some reason is doing.
Yay no night feels complete without a Manly video
So uh? Are we gonna blame the crisis assistant bc she made an alarm that attracted the entity or...
Going to say, the only weird thing left at the end of a day is usually me, full pelt singing through the halls, no promises of how good the singing is.
the thing is imagine if Ashley went full ominid/cave-man on the cryptid and bashed its torso multiple times with an fire extinguisher after blinding it with the foam in a adrenalin burst she could have survived in a non cannon(?) secret ending
i say this because
in real life a mother lifted a car(partialy )to save her kid from under it so ashley swinging a extinguisher like it was a cilindical base ball bat wouldn't be too out there
She could have also just left.
That monster was lucky that Ashley got distracted. Had she gotten a hold on it, the crawly boi would get smacked against floor harder than those trash bags. Talk about cleaning crew after that
This is why you don’t be the last one at the office
I've been the last one out at work to close up for a holiday (a large supermarket, not an office building) a few times and it's not anywhere near as scary as these games try to make it seem. The building is your turf, if someone or something broke in you'd be at an advantage.
Now leaving and crossing an empty parking lot in a sketchy area with drug addicts and actually dangerous mentally ill people, that's the scary part.
"i dont see the entity stalkin-" Continues to start fully sprinting
Once again, the true horror is how shoddily this business is run. Also the sus camera placement.
24:20 i just wonder why would any entity care about attacking an security camera, like "i really need to vulgarly display raw agression toward theses god damned LENS"
You had me at woman's final moments
Every time she smashed those bags, i played nuke sounds on another tab on my pc.
