- Welcome to The Happyhills Homicide, a game that takes a completely new take on the usual slasher formula we've grown used to in horror games. Usually, we're the ones having the run from the person out there, but in this game YOU play as the very person everyone is so afraid of.

It’s interesting how the game instead of just going full on the killers side, it also shows that he went on killing people who didn’t have anything to do with his backstory or did anything wrong showing he’s simply not stable going as far as killing the only one he liked, even tricking us with the first detective section thinking that he’s some vigilante.
@@MarkoIronFist unless I missed something I can’t figure out where the fisherman or the farmer fits into his backstory, and he did took out an entire gang and a bunch of cops trying to stop him
@@MarkoIronFist I’d have to double check that, even then he definitely didn’t have to go for the girl she didn’t even know he was on the fire from what we’re shown. It seems at most he blames everyone on the school for what happened
Just cause there's no crimes on someone's record doesn't mean they aren't a criminal they probably did something and he was the only one to witness it
@@red_reaper1729 that’d be complete speculation, this is very Slasher inspired, and as such nothing’s confirmed unless it’s shown. And from what the game gives us, some people are related to the school, while others aren’t. Until they decide to make a sequel to expand this is what we got

Also, the scenario in "No Loose Ends," the fact that Madison's last name is "Carpenter," her killer is a man in a white mask and blue boilersuit, and she tries to stab him after hiding in the closet is a dead ringer for Halloween.
This game is made up of horror movie references.
The killer coming back to life and disappearing at the end is also a reference to Halloween
@@nobodytheowl Though Elm Street and coming back to life after being burned alive by people related to a school is a A Nightmare on Elm Street ref (Freddy Kruegar), this game is a nice ref to slasher movies yes, obviously there's the Ghost poster referencing Ghostface from Scream, maybe the chainsaw one was a ref to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the traps could be a ref to Jaso Voores from Friday the 13th.... (Though ngl, having 5 traps in tape 20 makes me think of The Trapper from DbD (but he's based on Jason anyway))

This game is great. The references to movies, everything. They also included the Scary Movie mask at 14:38 ! You can tell it's that mask because the one inside the building has a much narrower, and longer mouth, while the one outside is much more rounded.
All the slasher easter eggs shows great love for the genre. This and lake view cabin are like the best pixel art slaher games there is.

This is probably the most unique horror/slasher game of the year and the story is just amazing and not boring like most horror games these days

@@arcticgem2800 It's the pacing and how it both takes itself seriously and has this beautiful "cheese" to it that makes it enjoyable. You'll be rolling your eyes, but with a massive smile the entire time, all while being intrigued because of the red herrings.

Love seeing Ryan playing these unique horror games.
I love how a lot of the sounds are from the source engine, mostly Left 4 Dead 2! The death sounds are from the 4 characters, and a lot of miscellaneous sounds like pouring gas and the cooking of the guy's face in "Medium Rare". The generator, fences, sounds of sharp weapons (especially the axe), chainsaw sounds, and gun sounds. Everything is just related back to Left 4 Dead 2, and it's nice to see that game get some recognition.
YES! I heard the axe sounds and my brain went straight went straight to the frying pan hit noise from tf2, which was also with source.

Another good horror game that you should play again is "Inscryption", you played it once and left a much bigger and more disturbing story, lore and secrets than this game, so you could make a new series with that game. If someone saw or played the game and liked it, like this comment so Ryan sees it : ) .

This was actually surprisingly good! But I want to know how this guy has lived being caught in a fire and getting shot multiple times. I did feel bad for him near the end though. But it was a nice change of pace!
If I had to guess he probably had some kind of bulletproof vest on or something. Maybe he made a hodgepodge one out of the debris from the school or something.

The part where the killer chokes the cop, either the cop is a hard sleeper, or the killer is extremely strong. It didn’t seem like the cop got choked long enough for death, but for someone to be knocked out for that long due to being choked by another person is insane..or they’re just dead.

This game is what Halloween Ends should have been like. Not to disappoint or anger any fans who liked the movie, but this killer gives me so many Michael Myers vibes. Also, I wished it had Michael go on a major killing spree and have Laurie think that she killed him only to have his body disappear like the ending from the first film.

Hey, Ryan. I know you wanted to go back on the scary games, so I wanted to recommend "Little Misfortune" as it's a cute game that a lot of people have been checking out lately (Though it's commonly classified as a horror game, it's definitely not like the scary games you usually play)

I think the point of this game was to emphasize just how vulnerable everybody is. I know for sure I looked over my shoulder a couple of times. It could literally come down to somebody just having a bad day and you being in the general vicinity for your life to really just get taken like that.

I don't feel too sorry for the Killer. He did after all, go after the kind girl and threw a bat at her despite supposedly not wanting to kill her. The fact that he was a janitor at the school, he was most likely an adult and she was a high schooler, and likely underage, so she was too young for him. His flashback about her, screams that he was gonna end up being a stalker , and would've attacked her anyway if she had rejected him like that teacher from the Misao game. There's also the fact that not all of the "victims" had a connection to the high school also means he killed people who had nothing to do with bullying him or the fire. Technically only the one football player caused the fire, the rest were just assholes.
But back to the kind girl, if he had no intentions of killing the girl, 1. he shouldn't have been stalking her, 2. he shouldn't have broken into her home, and 3. HE SHOULDN'T THROW WEAPONS AT HER!!! The only person who was kind to him, and he couldn't come up with a solution to contact her that wouldn't freak her out?

Really glad you enjoyed this one! I think you'd absolutely love the Serial Cleaner games. Rather than being the murderer, it's your job to clean up crime scenes while they're being investigated in order to remove evidence and clear the names of your killer clients. I highly recommend you check out the original game and it's spiritual successor!

It’s a full horror pixelated game as the killer that has a backstory so he had revenge and it’s a full commentary that has the blood, gore, and full graphics until you are now the detective gonna end this once and for all when in the burnt school filled with bear traps after the backstory.
the moment I heard the sound effects, I immediately knew it was using sounds from L4D2. It's easy to notice Nick and Rochelle screams.
