Oh my goodness, you are so lucky! I wish the Aldi stores in my area in the US carried a fraction of these items. I would tell them but I'm not sure they care anymore. Their customer service seems to be going downhill and they've been phasing out their cashiers in my area leaving crazy long lines and encouraging self-checkout from what I heard. Thankfully I always do curbside pickup only. I remember when it was a joy and a pleasure to go into Aldi and I would have the nicest conversations with the sweetest elders then things changed and it wasn't so pleasant anymore. Too many people and all in a hurry. Now they're phasing out the cashiers so maybe they should just be online only? It's sad. I miss my nice, old Aldi.
That's dreadful to hear!!! You'd have thought that at least with self-checkout the queues would be goind down not UP!!?! Fortunately Aldi in the UK has really stepped up over the last year, their stores are very clean and modern, and they have a mix of the normal cashiers and self check outs speeding things up. I REALLY hope they take these learnings over state-side for you!! Or you just need to book a trip to UK to fill your suitcase with vegan goodies! haha
Same experience here in California - watching this video and I’m like…I haven’t seen a single one of these products. I’d love for this to come to the ALDIs in the States!
Thank you for a fantastic video. I don't know how l have never seen this channel before. You got a new subscriber I don't want to miss the reviews on those products.
That's a really good shout, it's the same with the Boursin?! I do like the mix of own-brand cheap as chips and then premium brands, still at a discount! And it sounds like I need to get that bar!
A fantastic video but not seen any of the brands in my local Aldi just in the local Tesco Extra & Express stores. I mainly shop in Tesco with the occasional Aldi or Lidl shop. Another awesome video Vegan Food Explorer and love 🥰 it.
OMG I wanted to start my new year diet .. but now that you showed what is new in Aldi I am not so sure any more!! yum yum thanks for making this video :)
@FamilyFourExplore yes of course you're right. Because there is more demand in January. But Aldi are profit driven and if we buy enough of a product collectively then they will adopt it into their main stock
I know what you mean but from my experience they throw everything at the wall and keep the things that sell! Which actually is a great and hopefully sustainable strategy for such a new market as vegan meats/cheeses etc. It's also fun as they make some really whacky things 😂
Breakfast-themed perhaps?! Not sure there is method to madness in Aldi though, or indeed Lidl. But fab range and prices so it's all good @YourVeganFoodExplorer
Agreed!! I think the innovation is top tier, even beating some of the big brands at their own game! I agree I’m hoping some of them join the core vegan range!
I laughed when you said about the salami and the black bits in it I really can't do stuff like that I will literally stare at food before I buy it and see if there's any funny bits reminds me of dead ants 😅😅
Dead ants 🤣🤣🤣 haha I love that - and that’s pretty much where my head was at too!! I was like ‘I wish I’d filmed another pack’ haha but someone did say it was pepper so hopefully our fears can be soothed!
Thank you!!! I love your comment! Now that is a hotly debated question, from my experience they make a lot of vegan products for January, and then trim back. Some people see this as ‘removing them all’ but that’s not true, yes they don’t continue some products but still each year their core range grows. - which is a good thing! And I would assume they are ditching the stuff that doesn’t sell as well, so must be very sustainable for them too. ( I could be wrong but that’s my take)
@YourVeganFoodExplorer we have tofu and veggie sausages in aldi here but anything else vegan friendly is just your normal accidentally vegan foods or fruit n veg ect
Ah that’s a good shout! First they conquer vegan and then I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they conquer gluten free 😲😲 You’re right though on still lacking some very specific things, we cook a lot of Asian food and it was always hard to get more exotic ingredients but they are now massively improving on that so hopefully the same with gluten free soon.
I went to my Aldi today 20/1/25 and unfortunately they had very few of these items. I was not surprised as last January was the same. The ice cream bars I found were vegetarian, not vegan sadly. No pepperoni slices, no salami slices, no corn dogs, no caramel cake slices, etc etc. So I bought just a few bits and left. Lidl on the other hand had more stuff, again, not everything in your videos but had more stuff overall. I need to move where you are! 😂😂😂
Oh dear, I am sorry to hear that. But this is the current situation with Aldi and Lidl - inconsistent! Not just the time of year but different locations too. My local Aldi is very good and still stocked high, but my local Lidl was in my opinion dreadful for vegan food offerings, however one in the next town was so good which is where I filmed my Lidl vid! Currently if I need consistent offerings I go to Sainsbury's, but Aldi is much better for vegan offerings than not that long ago, so change is happening - hopefully it speeds up! :D
I'm only vegetarian, not vegan anymore, but it's interesting to see what your UK Aldi has to offer. Not quite the same in our local Aldi here near Toulouse France... But they do stock a few things..l even found vegan mayo a few years back...never saw it again. Veganism hasn't got a huge following here, but it's getting there...another 10 years maybe ? I've never been a meat eater or lover so l wouldn't buy the stuff that's supposed to taste like chicken or beef etc, no thanks ! ! Nice to find some butter or cheese substitutes though for real Vegan friends... Thanks for showing us this.
You are very welcome!! That is very interesting indeed, we are in France for winter holidays and laugh at the lack of vegan options, but like you say they are growing slowly but surely and I think of the quote ‘Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year and underestimate what they can achieve in ten years.’ - hopefully it’s true of veganism in France!
It’s a great point but from my experience they throw everything at the wall and keep the things that sell! Which actually is a great and hopefully sustainable strategy for such a new market as vegan meats/cheeses etc. It's also fun as they make some really whacky things 🤣 And every £ we spend is a vote for us wanting it to stay!!
So I went to Aldi yesterday. They had several of the fake meat products and the ice cream (though some malicious carnist shit had put some chicken in the cabinet with them), but that was about all. No cheese, sweets, croissants or pains au chocolat. They did have vegan apple strudel.
@@YourVeganFoodExplorer - Yeah - fairly sizable store - I they stock for the demographic of the area - obviously very few vegans in my area. Subscribed!
Oh dear!! Only a few years ago we were also lucky to find plain tofu in Aldi!! But they have really turbo charged their offering here. Fingers crossed this makes it over to you guys ASAP!
I just went to Lidl and it was AWFUL! Hardly any vegan items, and I have to agree with you I’ve not been a fan of Vemondo. It feels like Aldi has totally pulled away as cheap, but not forgetting the food still needs to be good!
Hey Freddie - Better late than never! If we lived in your world where we stopped innovating in the 17th century when the Croissant was made we would have missed out on quite a lot. You may be happy living the 17th Century peasant lifestyle but I enjoy 2025 things like pain au chocolat, medicine, planes, central heating, and now vegan croissant :)
Hey FreddieAi, thanks for reaching out! Have you seen what’s in actual salmon? Farmed salmon often comes with antibiotics, PCBs (industrial chemicals), dioxins, and even traces of mercury. Wild salmon isn’t off the hook either-mercury and microplastics are a real issue there. Suddenly, a bit of paprika extract and konjac gum doesn’t sound so bad, does it? 😉
Thanks for reaching out Susan! But what’s your point here? These are mainly vegan equivalents of ‘ultra processed’ non-vegan items, so it’s unreasonable to expect them to somehow not be processed don’t you think? Even so, there are benefits to the vegan items over the non-vegan equivalents, e.g. processed meat is a ‘Group 1 Carcinogen to humans’ according to world health organisation. Other inclusions in the Group 1 banding are plutonium and Diesel engine exhaust!!!!! So I will stick with the vegan one :)
Maybe ultra processed food either vegan or not should not be promoted as a part of a healthy life style, emulsifiers are proven to damage microbiome, a healthy vegan lifestyle should be promoting PLANTS! The foods you're promoting are not healthy or nutritious.
This all looks great , I am vegetarian and I won’t buy any of these , I eat vegetables , fruits, nuts ,seed and legumes and make all my own food, cheeses, burgers, sausages, kefir, cakes, bread, milk, butter. There are just too many chemicals in these foods the list just look even longer. Unfortunately the food manufacturers are doing to vegetarian food what they do to all the foods, this is just another isle I won’t be going down, this may be vegetarian and vegan but definitely not healthy food. Just a lot of profit for the food industries to try and capture a wider audience. I will stick to the real food section and the Health section.
GREAT comment!! This is a really great way to live, and I see studies showing the more you eat like this the better it is for the body. However I do always think 3x things: 1: To make the world go vegan you must fight fire with fire, if people are being seduced by meat burgers, pizzas etc then we need to battle with even better vegan options!! Also a lot of people go vegan for the animals as opposed to their health and surely eating vegan processed food is better than non-vegan processed food? 2: I try to eat clean a lot, but I still love that I can be vegan and eat a really delicious burger and pizza etc whenever I want :) 3: This is why I love to share and promote these foods as they offer another exciting and inspirational angle of veganism.

Ahhh great shout! Delicious peppery flavour for the salami 😋😋
Which branch of Aldi is this in? My local one in Birmingham (Newtown) was very disappointing bar the frozen section.
This is in Kent!
What’s it all made from?
Hey, well they are all made from different things e.g. a croissant is very different to a block of cheese.
Hydrolysed proteins, yeast extracts, motor oil, Maltodextrine to name a few 😀

We definitely dont have all that in Australia!
Fingers crossed it’s coming!!! 🙌

That variety and the prices are shocking. Genuinely haven't seen those kind of prices since pre-covilina
I totally agree it’s like stepping in a vegan price Time Machine - back about 10 years ago!
They won't have any of those in the Southend branch.
Why not??! I agree Aldi’s do seem to be different but I’d imagine they have a fairly decent range - if you are able to go let us know!
