And it's also amazing all the original members are still happily married to their first and only wives. And these guys show the true meaning of brotherly friendship all these years- 59 years, maybe longer. They were very underrated.
Kristina Dospoy Ha, she’s a bit of a maniac. She turns up at their gigs, still seems to think they are friends. Colin and his wife are so nice and laid back they just basically ignore her.
That is a true rock and roll love story! Rod and Cathy! Now 56 years together! Married 51 years. Congratulations to both of you, God has richly blessed you both
In my opinion, The Zombies should have been even bigger, they were just as good as the Beatles! I don't care what anyone says or thinks, I've studied their songs and heard their music countless times, even their not so famous songs. The Zombies are more than Amazing and Awesome!!👍🏽👌🏽👏🏽🎶
Much deserved & a great mention for Jim Rodford. We were at Jim’s funeral...a year to the day after he died there was a tribute concert for Jim...all 4 living Zombies were there...Argent...they joined together in the finale...Jim’s widow & the whole family were on stage too. As a teenager l lived 150 yards from Rod...saw him often..a huge thrill for a 14-15 year old.
Thank God for The Zombies!!! Genius band.....Love and deeply respect everyone of them! Especially Rod Argent. When I've listened to Rod's speech, I just burst into tears.....Thanks a lot that they're exist. Always in our hearts.
It's fantastic they were inducted and they are such gentlemen. I modeled my own voice for years of practice after Colin and a chain of events in 1990 to 1992 changed my personal life forever. There have since then always been two favorite things in my life- hockey and 60s British music. I saw my first game on TV in 1990 and was stunned, but then a week later (I still remember it) we were in the car and "She's Not There" came on the oldies station- I'd never heard anything like it- shockingly emotional and ghostly. Then it was The Left Banke who were like our Zombies, and in 92 the iconic Oddesey. This wasn't an ordinary band nor was Argent or Blunstone's solo career- they left us a beautiful legacy of plaintive, evocative, musical gold!
The Zombies were giants above everyone else in music at the time. It was original, impossibly powerful and brilliant, and timeless. Yes they left us a beautiful legacy of musical gold. We are so fortunate that this legacy continues to THIS day, as they keep making more, new music for us. Their legacy goes on and on . . . for us and for generations yet to come. So lucky to be alive during the Season of the Zombies, 60-some years and still counting, with our love for them..
Just try finding an original mint copy of the Zombies' "Odyssey & Oracle" 1967 masterpiece on vinyl. If you do, it'll set you back $100-$200, likely more. Highly collectible because of the Zombies' musical excellence, vision and, of course, the brilliant "Time Of The Season" cut.
I am disappointed in the crowd not applauding what he was saying. The fifties were a base run for the hippies of the sixties. So much square Mc Carthyism to fight in America, and there were high school dances in the Midwest that were broken up by the police. We were L 7 squares in much of America in the fifites with only a few rebels and they had no cause. The Brits were ahead of us and inspired us in the sixties and seventies. I can understand why Elvis would have their albums
I always thought Paul Atkinson was the tall guy and Chris White was the little guy. They had very similar facial structures. Doesn't Chris White also looked like a British version of Roy Orbison back in the 60's?
@@mando8222 I think Paul looked almost like Buddy Holly when he was just 14-16 years old. Then he ditched his glasses for contacts later on, he looked really good without the glasses.

Colin did get married to someone in 70s who took him for every penny he had.
But after that his second wife is amazing!.
@@nick260682 very interesting!

One of the best bands ever! That's a fact!
Eternal thanks to The Zombies for so many good moments enjoying their unique music
Mr. Argent is a First Class Gentleman, and a hell of a songwriter!

Rod seems to be the most appreciative rocker ever!! I think Colin felt like he was on top of the world when they finally got in the Hall of Fame.
Happy 78th birthday, Rod Argent!! 🎉
All class these guys, love the jazzy touches to their music, doesn't date, just pure music.
Fantastic!! Rod Argent is beyond amazing!! Fantastic speech!
Such a great band, long overdue.
The British Invasion of America..........great great music and these guys were part of it........an incredible era in music.
My little high school band in 1965/66 covered the whole Zombies first album. We made them dance to Zombies. Ha!
yeah I tried metal militia in 88 and that did not work well. KKKK
LATE BUT NOT TOO LATE ! THEY REALLY DESERVE!
I LOVE THE ZOMBIES !!! 👍💜🎵. GREAT MUSIC ,GREAT ERA !! 👍☮️
One of my all time fave bands. So lucky to have seen them twice, they still blow me away.
You can tell Rod is forever grateful for everybody he knows
It's nice to see an old classic band that doesn't seem to carry any significant grudges or acrimony for a change.

Really a great speech.. I loved their music, Time of the Season a fantastic song. I own that 45.

Happy 78th birthday to Hugh Grundy yesterday! And happy 80th birthday to Chris White today!!!
Amazing delivery. Very Special!
Such a fantastic band!!
I can tell Chris White is forever grateful for the US. 🙂
Great part of Rock and Roll history!
Very well deserved!!!
Waaaaaaaay overdue!
Love these guys. Have been to many of there shows.
How about inducting Paul Revere and the Raiders before they are all deceased?
Sorry Paul Revere is dead died in 2014
@@jimvelie5654 that doesn't mean the band shouldn't be inducted.
Bill Murray must play Colin Blumstone in the Zombies movie
What??!! Colin B. was SO handsome when young... Pallllleeeezzz!
Rod with a full head of hair. lucky bugger.
I don't know if I could stomach one more mention of elvis. I am amazed at how these first three guys still have such a head of hair. Congrats Zombies!
Long time coming
Amazing band
They speak really well.
Happy birthday to Hugh Grundy and Chris White today and tomorrow!!
En México los adoramos ❤❤❤❤
Amazing Band.. what took you so long R & R HOF..
How did I miss this? Maybe I was listening to _Odessey & Oracle_ for the 300th time at the time...
Brooklyn yes sir mr argent
Zombies live on, and on, and on, and on, and on, .......
The Zombies should have been inducted in the early 90's.
Colin’s best song wasn’t even with the Zombies, that was “Old and Wise” from the Alan Parsons Project!
Great song!
It's a disgrace it took so long for a band who was there at the very beginning. Just shows how incredibly politized the R&R HOF is!
Awesome.
Rip Paul Atkinson.

@Kristina Dospoy
She is Paul Atkinson's widow, Helen Atkinson.
@@ElusvOptmst1 I wonder how long they were married before Paul's death in '04.
I initially thought she was married to Chris White
Is that Simon Lebon at 10:58?
I didn't remember a sixth member.
Go figure. Three hit songs ... two in my opinion ... Rock and Roll hall of fame. Maybe they were that good.
I wonder if any of them have grandchildren. I know Hugh Grundy has at least one.
Rod played guitar and sang on Hold Your Head Up, right? Not organ. Right?
Keyboards. Backing vocals.
Russ Ballard: guitar and vocals
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏼😎
❤
It's about time,. It should have happened in the 70's or 80's but they are to busy putting rap and country in the hall of shame instead
Rick Bayless’ British brother
Was long overdue should have been in long ago
Again long overdue this hall sucks where is benatar foreigner Nugent Tommy James to many to mention
The Turtles and The Guess Who need to be inducted.
They forgot Keith Airey
10:55
All the majors are already inducted, but they have to have one of these every year.
Rod Zombie.
The Zombies were active in the late 60s. And voted into the R&RHoF in 2109?
Bogus R&RHoF.

Why isn't ted nugget in the hall of fame is because of politics....i hope not

They should've been in there years ago
They stick anybody in there now. And also the Dave Clark? John Mellon fucken camp? Next will be the man Fred man earth band or
Were you born last year?
These guys are so old I think they are actual Zombies.
Zombies had a few hits but R&R Hall of Fame? Are you kidding?
Agreed.
The band was founded in 1958. They were a huge inspiration on a lot of bands....
Which is why they got inducted so late bc of people like you
Their album Odessey & Oracle is one of the most influential albums of all-time!!
