@uP-Andre why not buy the AMD 3600 for 200€. Literally just 50€ more but has 6 more Threads, in every Game more Fps, in some Games the CPU-Usage of the Intel is alrdy at 90% with less frames, while the AMD chills with 60% usage and more Fps. I would rather pay 50€ more and have an investment for the future, than save 50€ and probably have to buy a new cpu in 1 -2 years again.
@uP-Andre I see it for 209€ geizhals.de/amd-ryzen-5-3600-100-100000031box-a2064574.html You can also get a cheap B350 Mainboard for about 60-70€ and 3000 RAM you get 16GB for about 70€. So yes, in your comparison everything is a little bit more pricey, but it is also faster and you were listing really the absolute cheapest parts. Also the stock cooler for the AMD is better, which has like another 10-20€ value. At the end it is your decision, but I would rather invest a little bit more and be future safe. Look at this Benchmark comparison, where even the better Intel 9600k is used, it is so often at 90% Cpu-Usage with the same Fps as the 3600, which is only at about 60% Cpu-Usage. ruclips.net/video/Q0_DBUJrWl4/видео.html
I feel like in the gaming benchmarks a little performance can be gained with updates and optimisations. LTT went over how BFV was inefficiently using the CCX's on the new chips. So who knows might get a nice little performance bump in the coming weeks.
@uP-Andre the thing is...i5 9400f cost 150 vs a ryzen 5 3600 200, which is 6c/12t instead if 6 core only (and difference is now noticible, and it will be even bigger as time passes), and besides, on am4 it will be cheaper to upgrade in a future, cause the ryzen 7 and 9 are cheaper than those of intel.
@uP-Andre i didnt say intel have no upgrade path, i said the ryzen version will be cheaper, read my previous answer, and the higher price over there may be because of limited stock, it just launched, now i5 9400f its a nice cpu, and pretty powerfull, but i as i said the ryzen 5 3600 has 12 core, will you will need, so you will have better future proof, and 3600 is more powerfull than the i5 9400f, the intel version of the ryzen 3600 is the i5 9600 wich is also a 6c/6t.

first real review? I hope so! Edit: at all cores locked at boost speed, is that the best these chips can over clock? I don't really count that as a overclock. I never counted on the new chips overclocking well but i expected at least an extra 100-200 mhz increase. This is gonna be very upsetting.
Pretty much i mean looking at the past chips Ryzen OC's very poorly i thought it would atleast do 4.4 on most of them but i guess they are maxing out at 4.3 on average 4.4 might be a golden sample but they don't show much gain from OCing anyway unlike Intel Chips.
It would be interesting to see the performance comparison using the same ram with the timing tightened to C15 improves the Ryzen 2 gaming numbers. Tighter timings definitely used to make a difference in Zen+. Even if you tested with worse timings, say 3200C16 or 3600c18 it would show the memory clock and latency timing impact on the Ryzen 2 platform.
The 3900X is a beast. Even beats 2nd Gen Threadripper. Good review 😎👍 BTW the video was way over exposed. You can use a ND filter, adjust camera exposure, or reduce your lighting 😉

As a CG hobbyist as well as a Gamer I now have some serious thinking to do before my next upgrade. What's going on with Canon/Ice lake and intel's 10nm? Things still seem very quiet.
2022!?! Well, they must be struggling or have something very special up their sleeves. I wonder what we'll get in the meantime? 3900X / 3950X are strong possibilities, that's for sure. Not gone with AMD since Athlon and the 9800pro ruled the waves!
CPUs maybe but GPUs? I was really hoping they'd bring something to the upper tier but for anyone with a high res monitor you're still stuck paying the Nvidia tax.
The nice thing is that it used RDNA. An architecture has already been optimized decently well from the begining. Not as incomplete as the Vega driver at launch
@@breezyberwick1927 I guess price/perf could be considered a noticeable margin but it is still over priced right along with nvidia. One of the interesting things about the Asrock X570 Taichi is that it's the only T-topology motherboard for X570. If you populate all the memory slots, you'll get even better results.
So for gaming, the 3700X is the chip to get. Even overclocking doesn't make a big diff. I'll be upgrading to this chip very soon. Now to choose a M/B. The Z570 M/B is outside my budget, but what M/B to get? Another top video Brian.
RockManDo KeeperOfTheStones not many AMD chips level peg a stock 8700k but I was talking about gaming and an overclocked 8700k @ 5.2-5.3ghz. I don't personally own an 8700k as I chose the 9900k for my system. (And I don't use my rig for anything but gaming and updating drivers.) but the 8700k @5.3ghz actually gets better FPS in a lot of today's games than even a 9900k @ 5ghz. If I was to stream and needed a second rig yeah I might use AMD for my streaming rig as AMD isn't a bad brand by no means.
Tra1aW_PC idk what my friend did to his 8700k to get a clock speed of 5.3ghz but he sure does have it there. It does better than my 9900k @ 5ghz in the games we play. I'll ask him next time I talk to him.

cool to see amd finally being back on the cpu market for some competition. i still wont upgrade yet from my i5 3570k since it would be actually wasted money for my needs. Yep! I've not bought AMD since Athlon X3 beat Pentium 4s and the 9800pro ruled the roost for GPUs... but things do seem to be changing again.
Love the video. Thank you.
I am getting the 3900X. No disputing it, but may need to wait till I can afford it. It's crazy though. A board, 12c 24t CPU costs less than what Intels 8c 16t cost only some years ago. Thank god AMD came back and they came out swinging!
Always great seeing the "dadman ", loved the video and like you nice to finally see AMD give intel some real competition. I bought a used X370 (factory refurb ) ROG crosshair hero VI. Im probally getting the 3700x and im getting the Corsair Vengance Pro RGB 32 GB kit (16X2) PC-4 25600
first real review?
Good review 😎👍
BTW the video was way over exposed. You can use a ND filter, adjust camera exposure, or reduce your lighting 😉
Great vid!
thx for great review and your opinion. only thing left now is to test R5 3600. hope to see that in your channel too. In price/performance part, it should be super mega turbo great deal on older B450 Boards
I'm getting the 3700X for certain :) Thanks for the video.
As a CG hobbyist as well as a Gamer I now have some serious thinking to do before my next upgrade.
What's going on with Canon/Ice lake and intel's 10nm? Things still seem very quiet.
I'm not even sure if Intel knows what to do since 12 and 16 core parts are available on this generation of ryzen.
Intel's 10nm desktop parts will likely only come out in 2022. Bit of a wait lol.
What's to consider? :) hehe
3900X all the way! (or 3950X even!)
2022!?! Well, they must be struggling or have something very special up their sleeves. I wonder what we'll get in the meantime?
3900X / 3950X are strong possibilities, that's for sure. Not gone with AMD since Athlon and the 9800pro ruled the waves!
I saw notifications for the rest, but i'm here for the best. To the Yes Man for the lowdown on this showdown.
awesome channel
best regards from UA
this is the year of AMD they rock with cpus and gpus
CPUs maybe but GPUs? I was really hoping they'd bring something to the upper tier but for anyone with a high res monitor you're still stuck paying the Nvidia tax.
Navi is actually decent. The cards did win in perf/price by a noticable margin
The nice thing is that it used RDNA. An architecture has already been optimized decently well from the begining. Not as incomplete as the Vega driver at launch
@@breezyberwick1927 I guess price/perf could be considered a noticeable margin but it is still over priced right along with nvidia. The price difference is not that much while lacking some features all together and having a terrible cooler. Everyone is getting screwed in the gpu market regardless who they go with.
Can't argue with that
Watched a few reviews, just as good as promised so 3900x and a x570 hero ordered real fast
Why has no one looked at the 3800X? 4.4 boost sounds useful. Just curious - no one get review samples?
Yeah, looks like no 3800X review samples were sent, or they are being delayed for some reason.
GOT MY 3900x TODAY 😁 PUT IT IN MY GIGABYTE AX370 GAMING K7 AND ITS GREAT . CINEBENCH SCORE WITH A 4.3 GHZ OC GAVE ME A SCORE OF 7690 . TEMPS STAYED AROUND 75C ON STRESS TEST SOO IMPRESSED. NO NEED TO UP GRADE MY MOTHERBOARD !
One of the interesting things about the Asrock X570 Taichi is that it's the only T-topology motherboard for X570. If you populate all the memory slots, you'll get even better results.
If Dadman approves, that's good enough for me!
thanks for the review.
Great vid. I wonder why the difference between Davinci and Adobe btw, is Davinci just plainly worsely coded on encoding?
So for gaming, the 3700X is the chip to get. Even overclocking doesn't make a big diff.
I'll be upgrading to this chip very soon. Now to choose a M/B. The Z570 M/B is outside my budget, but what M/B to get?
Another top video Brian.
wait... so the new king is the old king 9900k and it's been here all the time! nice
Exactly if you game 9900K still holds the crown.
please bryan , do a video on the x370 using a 3600/3700 cpu
Thank you Brian👍
Why didn't you throw in a 8700k OC'd @5.3GHZ?
@Tech YES City Gamer's Nexus doesn't really recommend the 3700x vs the 9900K, but they do recommend the 3600 vs the 9600k.
I'm upgrading from an i5 3750k to a 3700X and I can't wait. Double the cores, quadruple the threads, kick-ass IPC uptick. I'm gonna get so many frames on Lego Batman!
5:36 Power consumption value on Zen 2
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for riding the Hype Train. Our next station is Guanghua Computer Mall for all your ...Ryzing needs. Mind the gap when exiting the train and remember that CPUs may look hotter than they appear. ;)
hi marco
@@djerinich Hi Darko!
I was hoping for 4.5-5Ghz but damn this launch is awesome
OC is really disappointing. was hoping for 4.5+, do you think with bios updates it will get better?
Wait for the next generation. Intel still kings right now in the game department.
I think 4.4 GHz more realistic right now to achieve.
I have a confidence that 3900х is the first top processor that worth all the money.
sometimes you had to pay too much for too little.
sometimes frequency is lower than in lower models.
sometimes numa-shmuma happens.
and you just sitting and thinking yea i want this guy but please push me someone im still not sure.
not this time. 3900x is a pretty easy purchase.
Worth all the money you sure? Its 620e cpu + 520e for motherboard. Total 1140e.
Good opening with the pinching yourself for AMD. LOL.
Good review, sir. Will you be doing comparisons with X58A, X79, or X99 parts? That would be fun to see sir.
I want the king. Thanks for a great review
I choose tech YES as my first review to watch, who is with me?
Looks like I'll replace my 2700x with a 3700x, but I'm kinda disappointed that all we could get is 4.3ghz all core.
Let's see if the enthusiasts on reddit can get any higher.
Equivalent would be 4.9 GHz for you to match since it’s 13% higher IPC.
Can't buy any Zen 2 chips here in the Philippines without also getting an X570 motherboard. :( So those who have B450's X470's etc can't upgrade. Sad life.
EDIT: We can now buy the CPU without the motherboard. Some retailers had a change of heart.
It will be available soon don't worry
@@techyescity i mean there are available chips but you HAVE TO buy it together with an X570 mobo. But yeah, maybe in a couple of months, we can buy separately.
Have you tested memory overclocking on b450/X470 boards? Is it the same as X570?
probably the same
most b450 boards only support up to 3466mhz, which is still pretty fast but apparently the sweet spot moved from 3200 to 3600mhz
@@lucahahn8134 there are reports of being able to overclock the infinity fabric aswell, meaning you can move the sweet spot further up yourself, while still benefiting! However at this point in time, theyve only managed 3733. :z day 2 tho... lol
@@lucahahn8134 some support up to 3600, like asus and msi pro carbon.
The New King in CPU's reviewed by the OG King in Hardware reviews!
Opened RUclips and picked the Yes Man among other channels for benchmarks.
With Brian being the budget performance king, I know you love the AMD chips.
can you do comparisons between the Ryzen 5 3600 overclocked to 4,3ghz against i7 8700k on 5ghz ?
@Shit Kicker gamer nexus benchmarked It
Shit Kicker
fucking tool
@Shit Kicker many people have already did overclocks on it to find out what the most possible frequency for a stable system is. If you´re lucky u might get 4,4ghz running stable but its most likely to be 4,3ghz all core.
Really nice and detailed review. Btw are you going to test the 3600 and 3600x later on? Seems like no one got review samples of those.
cool to see amd finally being back on the cpu market for some competition. i still wont upgrade yet from my i5 3570k since it would be actually wasted money for my needs. The things i do play contain games like league or destiny2 here and there and "older" games like that. i m not into super new AAA games. And i dont have any issues yet with needing more cpu performance.
Great video Bryan, but have a quick question. how will the 3700x run on my x470 Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 wifi board? Or should I just get an x570 board?
Good review, but as your second hand market search goes in the new market Australasia pays a premium over the US dollar MSRP. What are the downsides to buying new tech via websites given excellent reviews like yours and others to get at least MSRP product prices here?
Will defo be getting a 3700X for my Radeon VII rig.
I remember buying my San Diego 3700+ when AMD was on top. This was before Core 2 Duo so yes, I'm getting old lol. My first desktop PC was a Pentium 3 450Mhz, but my first computer was an Amstrad CPC 464. Oh how things have changed.
