I finally caught these when they were on sale, and have had them for a week now. First thing I want to say, is that the sample track is not just a watered down, flat EQ and it actually doesn't sound bad without the personalization. At all. Even the 'neutral' sample track sounds better than most headphones I have ever used. However, these are not the kind of headphones you want to use for 'professional' audio engineering, or for that sound. These aren't that kind of headphone. The personalization does work, however. I tested it with my 3 family members. We all had vastly different settings, and none of us preferred each others over our own profile. In fact, we hated the sound profile of some of each others, and felt it sounded flat, or had a 'hiss' in the background. But to the person belonging to that profile, it sounded perfect. I didn't get these for the personalization primarily. I got these for the bass. I am a basshead through and through, and I am used to audio registers where the bass drowns out the mid and highs just a bit. I was a little apprehensive that these actually had enough bass, because every time in the past when someone says headphones have a lot of bass, I have been disappointed. Until I got my sony MDR-XB950BT headset, which was my favorite...Until now. The Nuraphones blow those out of the water when it comes to the bass, and all without drowning out the mids and highs, like the Sony headset does. Turning the bass slider all the way up is nuts. I usually have it just a quarter away from being at 100% (front row), and that's enough for me with most genres. Even at that setting, the ear cups literally vibrate. I can feel my glasses on my face vibrating. The bass is phenomenal. So, as Lou said, if you're even remotely a basshead, you need these. My only complaint is that the ear buds can start to hurt your ears after a while. Something I'll no doubt build a tolerance for. But if you're like me and you're not used to in ear headphones, it'll take some getting used to, which I'm already starting to do. Everything else about them is extremely comfortable. I even find them more comfortable than my Hyper X gaming headset, on my head and around my ears. Overall, I'm not sure if they're worth 400$. That price might be a bit steep, even for the technology these headphones contain. If I didn't get them on sale, I wouldn't have them right now. But, found a black friday sale, and got them as a christmas gift to myself...One I am very happy with. The bass is insane, and the sound, while not the best available, is still great. They are comfortable, the battery lasts around 30 hours, the personalization DOES work, and they are easy to use. The bluetooth works like a dream, and connects to all my devices very easily.
Nice review! Have you ever tried the Skullcandy Crushers? I currently have those but im looking for an upgrade, and I'd love to know how these actually represent the bass if you know what I mean. Do they just shake on your head or do you get that deep low freq "wearable subwoofer" feeling while listening to it. Are they comfy enough to be worn on like 12 hour flights? it just looks really weird lol
@Gabriel CENA Hey, I've had the Crusher Wireless and returned them for the Sony XB950N1 (which STARPHASE named in his comment). I can tell you that the Sony ones are way better than the Crusher. If the Nura are better than the XB950, they should be like two (or more) steps above of the Crushers. Hope this helps!
Yeah you say that, then you start doing some research into audiophile headphones... There are plenty more that will completely obliterate your ass hole and wallet in terms of price
just got these for Christmas. lemme just say, they are absolutely nuts. the bass response is absolutely phenomenal, the personalized sound is real, and even if you aren't a bass head the sound is great for indieheads as well. you won't regret it. phenomenal.
plus each cable is 20 dollars excluding the lightning cable which is 40. so unless everything you use comes with USB-A port (the cable it comes with) you'll be spending quite a bit more more than 400 dollars
Worn mine for 3 weeks, these are by far the best quality headphones in qudio quality and in actual build that I have seen or heard. It's all sounding like a gimmick until you play some high quality tracks on APTXHD or through the classic Aux cord. But trust me, there are slight flaws in the software, like how you can't tap the side buttons when plugged in, and how you can't force it to not sleep when using the aux cord after a while of no sound. By and far these will last you years.
I've had these headphones for about six months, and I love them. Not even the new Sony xb's are better than these. Everything is crystal clear and the bass is not too punchy.
Why tho? They have completely different purposes. Get the wh1000xm3 if you want the best noise canceling headphones. I own one and the anc is amazing. Get the nuraphones if you want immersive sound, personalisation and don't mind having 'in ear' headphones

qc35 is definitely much more comfortable if you can tolerate the nuras i would highly recommend it, the bose isn't too far off in overall sound quality but the bass on nura is just glorious. The issue with the fit is that the inner-ear portion of it doesn't fit into the canal like a regular in ear monitor, rather it sits on the outer portion of the canal and it can put a bit of pressure over time. In terms of sound, it has a prominent bass but one that is clear, detailed and well distinct from the mid-range so it doesn't muddy the rest of the frequency range. I beleive it's possible because the bass it actually coming out from the outer shell whilst the rest of the sound is from the in-ear portion. On moderate-higher setting you can actually physically feel the bass and its quite an amazing feeling that is unreplicated on other headphones. The rest of the frequency range is also very high quality (it has a signature that leans more towards fun rather than flat/neutral). As an overall headphone, i would prefer QC35 because it has better comfort as well as active rather than passive noise cancelling. The sound isolation on nura is no joke the best passive isolation i've experienced because of the double silicone layer, but obviously the catch is you can't turn it off which is why i prefer active nc. The fit on the nura also makes it unsuitable for exercising with lots of movement like running as the impact gets transferred right into your ear canals making it uncomfortable and unenjoyable to listen to. (i tried this and it was quite unpleasant). if you get a chance do try the nura and try it with the customised sound, it'll definitely blow your mind, but keep in mind how it fits, as the feeling in the ear doesn't disappear after a while like normal in-ear monitors.
rian x That's a shame. I feel like if they get it to be more comfortable, it'd seriously be one of the best headphones to date. Tried one from my friend, it was simply orgasmic.
rian x I do hope they earn a killing from this, simply because its one of the few pricey pieces of tech that I geniunely think justifies its price range. Hopefully they'll make a new proper version and fix the missteps here.
Yup. These are a BEAST! Love them. And check them out with an ASMR video. The immersion speakers have directional speakers. So you can feel touches to your ear. 😱🤯❤️
I have used both BOSE QUIET COMFORT and the Nuraphone. I love Nuraphones IMMERSION mode, on full ! But with the BOSE headphones volume full it’s sounds like the Nursaphone’s on low IMMERSION. Interesting innovation!
MR.FROST hey man, I’m a passionate tech youtuber and am trying to get further along in the tech community, can you give my channel a look at and subscribe if you like it?
I agree these headphones have insane bass, one of the best bass head headphones out of all headphones maybe the best bass headphone, i know because i own a pair of nura phones and the bass will blow you away seriously...i only recommend them to bassheads but at 50% immersion is all you need if you don't want the bass to drown out the mids and highs.

Found these at a pawn shop for 120 bucks. Best money I've ever spent. And yes the personalization works. Had my dad make a profile and when I listened to his profile it sounded horrific and he said the same when he listened to my profile. 10/10 would recommend.
I got these and they are nice but with two cons. They hurt your ears bc the ear piece is very hard and jab into the side of your ear canals. The second con is the portability. They aren’t big enough to wear around your neck but must be carried around in the case. I have to take a backpack just for my headphones. I love the bass and the noise canceling features tho.
with time i found the earpieces to become comfortable, i dont even notice that there are two prongs fucking my earholes anymore. with the portability factor i definitely agree, these arent foldable either. but then again these are designed for home listening and the entire premise of these headphones is sound quality.

rian x so you don't recommend them ? I have a bose qc35, have enormous differences between them ?
qc35 is definitely much more comfortable
if you can tolerate the nuras i would highly recommend it, the bose isn't too far off in overall sound quality but the bass on nura is just glorious.
Tried one from my friend, it was simply orgasmic.
if I could wear it longer without discomfort I would have kept them :/
rian x I do hope they earn a killing from this, simply because its one of the few pricey pieces of tech that I geniunely think justifies its price range. Hopefully they'll make a new proper version and fix the missteps here.
2018: This is a tremendous miracle, the best I've ever heard.
2021: The Nura-... what?
Expectation VS Reality
Yup. These are a BEAST! Love them. And check them out with an ASMR video. The immersion speakers have directional speakers. So you can feel touches to your ear. 😱🤯❤️
Edge of Awesome Can you play from Spotify?
Man, we miss those genuine reactions in newer videos :( 3:55
Yeah. That's what you said about nuheara ear buds also.
The worst purchase decision I've made in my life.
oh my...........?
I have used both BOSE QUIET COMFORT and the Nuraphone. I love Nuraphones IMMERSION mode, on full ! But with the BOSE headphones volume full it’s sounds like the Nursaphone’s on low IMMERSION. Interesting innovation!

Wow..
Very cool.. it is double mixing between over ear headphone and in earphone
10 000 000 subs is coming 😁
Samsung adapt sound does exactly that with any headphones. Gives hearing test and then boosts the sound to your exact hearing. Just saying.
Got a set last week, good God there special, Bose 25s and 35s are now sat redundant. Thee best headphones ever.

you're so good at selling products dude 😂
Found these at a pawn shop for 120 bucks. Best money I've ever spent. And yes the personalization works. Had my dad make a profile and when I listened to his profile it sounded horrific and he said the same when he listened to my profile. 10/10 would recommend.
Your using second hand in ear headphones.... Nasty
Unbox Therapy I watched this again with my nura and I have enjoyed it a whole new way
I got these and they are nice but with two cons.
Two strong reasons for not buying them.
Shit people actually bought them.
Com on just 15k more subscribers. Then we get to meet JACK
Look nic. I’ll stick with my bose quiet comfort headphones for now though.
This is the best headphones ever. Just got mine. R.I.P BEATS
