My friend works for the TSA and finds them all the time. The scanner can pick up the blade when you put it through. He tells them to put it back in the car or ditch the knife part.

Any good lithium battery powered device does the same thing, and it isn't bad for your battery. They all stop at 100% and then trickle charge to keep it there. I leave my phone on it's docking station for most of the day, and ever since doing that battery life has gone up.
If that flashlight is waterproof and floats you should have it on your boat or when you go fishing or whatever else like that so when you drop it it doesn't sink like a stone and get lost!
