I'm not sure what they're talking about. I just know they all be roasting each other and Kev points out his own physical flaws. But best believe Melissa loves every bit of what Kev calls his "bad built" body. When a man loves, respects and treats me well, he gets all the lovin reciprocated. Good character will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be more attractive than six pack abs.
Kev is cute. Melissa is beautiful. I remember when she first started doing videos with Kev. She was and still is beautiful, but she’s definitely been working those personal campaigns and it shows. It’s been a treasure and a gift to watch Liss’s glow up. She got me out here wearing makeup and doing personal campaigns. My current one is “Wake up, Makeup, Show up. Everyday. For myself.” And my mantra is “I am the reason and the occasion.” ❤️

Kev is partly responsible for it though. Not too long ago he made another one those "I'm so ugly/I don't deserve Melissa" joke posts and I commented that he should stop doing that because he doesn't have to insult himself to uplift her. They are both amazing people. They are both great catches. Someone (not him or her) responded to me basically saying I was wrong for even suggesting that.
@Shifting Mindsets with Shawnee 100%! Even man-to-man I took a moment in my comment love on him and list reasons he's amazing. After a while, the jokes do seem to indicate an insecurity. Maybe I'm too serious but I refuse to feed it by laughing along. And I stand on that.
I agree, all jokes contain some truth. Both of them are great and a very nice couple.
I think this hit different for Kev because in the comment they’re referencing the person called him corny, not ugly.
He’s a stand up comedian so it makes sense he would have a sensitivity to people calling him corny. He jokes about his looks/body all of the time so I don’t think that would bother him but I agree, he should stop being so self deprecating because he’s giving people the green light to diss him while “complimenting” Melissa.

The end of Love Hour?-Just want to say Melissa, even if this ends it wouldn’t stop me from “following” you because I feel that no matter what you do it’s always genuine and real. The episodes here are truly timeless wisdom and will be replayed for years to come.

I was just talking to someone about the Live Love Hour show I attended. I explained: She’s just as beautiful in person. I worded it that way to specifically indicate that I’ve always thought you’re beautiful. To see someone you admire in person and their attitude, personality and appearance is exactly what you witness online, it’s like oh....she don’t be fronting. This is her! More often than not, we get the opposite when meeting celebrities in person. However, I now understand how that could be received as a backhanded compliment. I apologize.

Regarding the Jim Jones conversation, it's important to note many of the people involved didn't commit suicide willingly. Some were shot when they refused to do as they were told. Some were able to run away and hide. I'm amazed that so many people of color followed and believed that man.
I can see "even prettier" both ways. I see the way Melissa takes it and I see how Kev and Josh take it as well. It just shows every one have their own perspective.

Allowing my son to have a voice eventually turned into constant questioning, talking back and thinking he knows better than me and voicing that. So while I wish I was allowed to have a voice as a child I see why it was better that I did not.

Yeah “so much prettier” doesn’t sound like a compliment but “even prettier” could be.
We took a class on micro-aggressions at work. It compared the "You're pretty for ... " we say often as compliments to ones more offensive like, "You're pretty for a black/dark skinned girl/woman." I learned that, "You're pretty for ... " will forever be a backhanded compliment for us women, because you can simply say someone is pretty or beautiful without the extra stuff.

I’ve loved the Love hour. It has helped me even before I was in a relationship. And I’m now engaged, soon to be married and have found your content very useful and knowledgeable. Thank you!! I really appreciate you, your work ethic, your heart, and the love hour podcast. Not that you asked for my opinion, but I’m gna give it! 😂 I think if you did a quarterly episode, I’d be happy. I wouldn’t want to lose the love hour completely, but I do understand burn out or feeling like you’ve come to the end of the road (cue the 🎶) So maybe a quarterly episode might work better? 🤔 or every other month or something? Just an idea to think about! 😁 You could also take current events for new topic inspiration. (Example: something a celebrity says about their relationship in an interview, or a tweet of theirs or something to spark a conversation) Not in a judging or condemning way (I know you wouldn’t, but just to open up dialogue). You wouldn’t even have to name drop the celebrity. Just take the scenarios into consideration. 😁
Oprah also puts these shows on her RUclips channel so you can actually go watch what Liss is talking about rn.

Seasonal makes sense. I'm accustomed to that format cuz a lot of my faves aren't consistent posters. They pop up when they pop up and that's fine. Kev and the crew just turned out to be the blessing that keeps on posting. But if you do decide to end it, do it. Shoot the ability to just say I'm done and leave a job/project whatever and know you're ok is a blessing.
Now as for the parenting, Im old school. I'm 29. I don't feel the need to constantly explain myself to a 6 year old. I do when the situation merits one. No I don't need a 6 year olds opinion or thoughts on everything we do or is asked of him, just do it. Again, I will decide if a situation merits an explanation. I feel like new age parenting teeters the line of being too lax/not parenting at all. At the end of the day every kid is different, you gotta parent to the child.
Kev is me. My parents have buttholes for neighbors and this one house has had about 3 different families in 3 years and all of them park their shit in front of or too close to my parents driveway....and my parents refuse to say anything to them. it drives me INSANE. Just let me handle it damn it. Call the cops. Do something. Let me borrow Dani man lol

Jim Jones’s story was wild. He was a preacher that had growing following that later became a cult. He is church was originally based out of Oakland or San Francisco i believe. Then he moved his following to Guyana. People that tried to leave the island were killed. It’s been a while since i saw the documentary on the ID channel.
Didn't they kill a congressmen and his staff when they tried to leave with some of the members because they had been passing notes that they wanted to leave?

Shoot before I had a kid I never understood moms obsession with target AFTER oh that target run be keeping you sane that late night bath and candles be keeping you sane 😂 it took me so long to figure out why I felt run down even after she was sleeping through the night GIRL YOU AINT LEFT THIS HOUSE IN 5 YEARS without a tiny human attached to you 😅 I have no idea couples wise but my only advice to people I know having a baby find your peace cause if you don’t you just goin wake up one day and not know why you feel so DONE
Finding the balance between new age parenting and old school lessons is HARD! Kids don’t understand nuance, context, or gray areas so it’s always a balancing act to teach them to speak their mind but be respectful honor their boundaries but be accommodating it’s ok to express their emotions but also don’t drown in them and also know the world always doesn’t care about how you feel.
It’s quite literally exhausting but also very worth it.
Liss, we love the podcast and it has changed lives! But like Kev said it doesn't have to be all or nothing. You could put out four a month and then nothing for a month, just do it as and when you feel. We love you!

There's a clip of that Jim Jones Jr. Interview with Oprah that I saw on RUclips a couple of weeks ago. Yes he's black and adopted and only lived because he wasn't there at the time. Very crazy story, and apparently a lot of black ppl were in this cult.

The Jim Jones cult did do suicide drills but there's recordings of the people trying to talk him out of the mass suicide and letting the kids live at the very least. It's such a terrible story but also really fascinating.

My cousin actually drank “the kool aid” and died. I believe she was 18-19 years old. Her mother put her in that church as a teen against my uncles will. So this was something that devastated my whole family at the time. They had a show about him on A&E I believe and her mother was on there. She was coocoo anyways. So basically her mom and one brother survived or dodged the “kool aid”
