The algorithm was oddly insistent that I watch this video. I like your attitude. Honestly I don't really understand the small RUclipsrs who stress about pumping out content on a schedule. Like, you're small, have fun and grow organically. Good luck with your channel ❤

Thank you for taking the time to click and watch (and the algorithm for once pushing my content haha)! 💕 I think the big struggle for most RUclipsrs (including me in the past) is that RUclips supposedly rewards content frequency & consistency, and so we're baited into the false promise that uploading a lot guarantees success. However, if this system really was THE way for guaranteed success, everyone would be a big RUclipsr. This definitely makes a person crack under the pressure when they don't see results (on larger and smaller scales), which then can easily lead to burnout and even loss of interest in the content creation that once was a passion. I think it takes a lot of back and forth disappointment for small RUclipsrs to eventually consciously CHOOSE to make content on their own terms, and I hope my perspective on it will help others appreciate the good parts about being a small RUclipsr ❤

I completely agree with that. RUclips is all about having fun and I notice the big RUclipsrs who quit are the ones who became beholden to the algorithm, uploaded on a strict schedule, optimized their content, made what they thought the algorithm wanted.

@@AltoonaYourPiano Yes, exactly! I notice a lot of my favorite youtubers eventually tend to tweak their content to fit what the algorithm wants. I tried that for a bit too, and I think it took some of the fun out of the content I make. I'm currently re-discovering how to make my content not only entertaining, but also more educational, because I find a lot of meaning in making content that can help people in some way. :)

It's definitely fun for me as well being a small RUclipsr. I've been doing RUclips much longer, since July 2012, and at the midpoint of my channel's history (about six years ago) I had 170 subscribers and one video has been responsible for almost half of the growth since. I'm right now about similar size to you. I always get amazed the few times I've been recognized in public, part of it is that some of what I do is related to local events. For me the joy of what I've done is kind of brought different communities together and helped in interacting like the art community, the music community, vloggers, science videos. I still use my comment section like someone with 5 subscribers, having casual conversations with viewers and considering them friends. One thing I always tell people is "have fun", and I still hold to that. And I want to keep it fun for viewers as well. On a side note, I love your short hairstyle, it looks very pretty!

This is the first time I ever considered making a You Tube channel in seven years. The reason is because I want to connect with people on LinkedIn and college. I have ideas to write video essays while showcasing my public speaking skills. Therefore, I may have about a couple of niches over time. It may be the way to break the ice with being a new student and a Phi Theta Kappa member. I may even join another club in my college. This brought me to watch your video. I already like your voice and vibe. Thank you for the list that will inspire never getting monetized on RUclips. You earned a new subscriber!
