In todays Beating Grandmasters With Stupid Stuff we play mass gateway units without researching warpgate. A recipe for disaster especially when we meet a cannonrusher. Can our hometown hero take home the mmr?

personally, I would prefer that you dropped the challenge when canon rushed and just win.
I agree. If they cheese beat the ever loving shit out of them. New challenge becomed hand them the most brutal and sole crushing loss possible

Even when doing the challenge, it should be allowed to get at least a warp prism for transport and an observer for detection. Would love to see DTs dropped in oponents main base.

Wild Card challenge:
stargate units only, you can build 3 cannons per a base.
if someone cannon rushes you, you're allowed to make dts
if someone proxies you, you're allowed to make disruptors
if someone plays standard, you take their 4th or 5th base as your second or third base.
Did you know, that when you are a cannon rusher, your parents are 17 times less likely to love you?
I dislike this change. It used to be parents love you 85% less, now it's rng whether you get all the love or none. Bring back the consistency.

New challenge : Social Distancing - Warp Prisms can only carry 1 unit each, or warp in one unit per prism or pylon. You're allowed to use the pylon / prism again when the unit warped in moves out of the field.
Who wouldve thought after the first teo games that today is finally the day with a victory over a Zerg in BGWSS :S

Liked for your gg in game 2. Was fun to watch you try to counter mass immortals with stalkers in a 1 base vs 2 base. That's a tough spot to blink micro your way out of.

Two challenge ideas for the captain:
1. Cannon rush challenge: Build gateway, forge at home, then cannon rush. For each cannon you build, you have to build a core on the same pylon field the cannons are on. The idea is to demolish a GM with a bunch of cores in their base.
2. Challenge 2: Build all your tech at opponents 3rd or 4th.

I think for your next challenge you should play off race and use your least favorite strategy of that race
An extension of this build: mass gateway units with no warpgate + multiple warp prisms. You can make either colossus or disruptors (closest things to siege tanks), but not both in any one match. Templar and archons are allowed but no storm. Maximum 1 observer for defensive purposes. Stargates are allowed after 5 minutes but only for phoenixes (closest thing to vikings) and oracles for revelation only (closest thing to ravens/scans). Tempests are allowed after 15 minutes. If you're going to cosplay Terran, you might as well go all the way.

Challenge 'The floor is lava, the air is ash' - You can't make units that fly, and you can't make units that touch the ground (so no units with legs).

Against that particular canon rush, void rays and bateries would have been enough

How about this: aside from probes, you can only build units which are spellcasters (including the Disruptor)
but if you include the disrupter, wouldn't that also include stalkers because of blink? or void rays because of prismatic alignment?

during the 2nd game, if you'd run away with that probe and expanded, I think you might have been fine, I don't think they would have noticed.
This is how I played Protoss when I first started playing SC2 lmao - my logic was that cos I could queue units, my macro was better without warpgate (crying emoji)

I think the protoss oponent core is very delayed but, he has access to long distance mining a third geiser so he can support 2 stargates, it is unbeatable if you could not stop the batteries from going up. You need him to fuck up the micro and free lose a couple of voids to have a chance

Flood your opponent with Zealots. Support them with dark templar and Archons.
If it is not enough bring in the Golden Armada.
Allowed Units: Zealots, dark templar, Archons, Void Ray, Tempest, Carrier, Mothership & Observer
PS: If your opponent plays a canon rush, hit him with the might Hammer of Harstem - no Rules - no Limit.
Sounds nice. I would add stalker, sentries ja immortals to the list, though.
I think having observers is always fine no matter the type of BGMWSS
i know it' frustrating to lose to this cannon rush follow up and it's ridiculously hard to beat this without warpgate and stargate but you could have won both games ^^. in game 2 you had a stalker just chilling on the map for like 8 minutes that could have easily scouted the hidden base and then you could have denied it, for example
I think you could have ran past him with your first 4 stalkers.
Terrans complain about it a lot, but that's mainly because solo warpins (warp-gating a single Protoss unit) just as much as solo production timings (units popping out one after the other between buildings) is nearly always bad. Macroing isn't too bad for Terrans mainly because you are going Mech or Bio, you don't go both except in early games generally.

IMO it's more interesting if you don't stick to the challenge 100% if you get caught out in a weird situation.

It's not really fun watching Harstem getting beat the crap out by a cheese only becuase hes on a challenge. Perhaps Harstem, you could concider dropping the challenge in special circumstances for the viewers and for your own sanity.
If you get repeatedly cheesed just destroy them and forget about the challenge
is warpgate really even necessary. i used it like one time. its great in a pinch i suppose but i prefer the terran style of unit production.

@@petercriscuola IMO cannon rushing is lame as hell and doesn't lead to a fun game for anyone, it's a cheese way to get a quick win. To know that you're going to use this strategy but still give a "glhf" seems really weak. If you know you're going to cannon rush, why even bother saying anything.

When you realized its the exact same play as last game, i would have supported just getting void rays first and killing him. challenge is nice but don't waste your time letting bad cheese get wins.
Your voice audio was a bit quiet, maybe turn your voice up/game sound down
Challenge: Put all your pylons in one spot and only power your buildings with warp prisms

If he sniped the prism without losing too many stalkers, the game would have been different. It gave so much highground vision

IF it says "MASS Gateway units NO WARPGATE" wouldn't you still be allowed 1 or 2 Stargates and/or 1 or 2 Robotics Facilities? Need some air. Warp Prism, Observers.... don't have to MASS those units tho… just toss in a couple?
I think not building Stargate units was the right call, as it would kind of defeat the spirit of the challenge. Observers should be totally fine. Not being able to pump out Immortals with that Robo is already a good incentive to delay or skip the Robo if Detection isn't a big issue. I do feel like they're mandatory against Zerg, because they'll paint the map purple if you let them.
Personally, I think the Warp Prism is fine as well, but if Harstem feels they're too OP, he can limit himself to 1~2 per game, which would make it very painful to lose them. It's worth remembering that Immortals benefit the most from Warp Prism micro. Stalkers are already pretty mobile on their own, so I think Harstem would mainly use it to ferry Zealots behind enemy lines and for Archon drops. I'd say Storm drops, but in this video, Harstem already said he doesn't feel like he should use Storm in this challenge.
