🦐NO FILTER nano tank for Shrimps with an ABANDONED Chevy truck. 🦐

- The idea has been brewing for a long time, but I finally made it happen. An old rusty, long-forgotten Chevy pickup in the forest. A tiny 12-liter nano aquarium for my shrimp. It turned out to be a fantastic atmospheric aquarium. Check out how I built it. It's a small aquarium, but it took a lot of work. Was it worth it? 🚘

The original lost world tank you did blew my brain! I’ve copied it myself more than once, and had lots of fun doing it! There are some scapes that are all natural, like hills, jungles etc that are all great and I love them too, but these small tanks you’ve done with models, take my imagination somewhere else entirely, it’s more than a scape it’s a living story! Congratulations on this one, for me it’s phenomenal… and yes at some point I’m going to emulate something similar👌
Thank you my friend! 🤩🙏
What do you think of the aquarium? Was all the effort worth it? I simply adore it, the atmosphere is stunning. And I still love the shrimps. An update video is coming soon.
Great use of a really tiny space. It look's a lot bigger than it really is.
Absolutely worth it. Great work.
fascinating Bro! Worth all that effort, and that prawn coming thru the car window, epic, thanks.
This is amazing! So beautiful and somehow so disturbing. I think it’s a masterpiece!
Derek Bieri of ViceGripGarage RUclips channel would surely approve the "patina" that you applied to the truck!
I'll write it again. You create the most beautiful videos about the art of aquascaping. They relax and inspire - nobody can do it better. Great job! :)
Thanks a lot mate! 🙏🙌🤩
Absolut!!!❤
Pozdrawiam i " keep the good work"
I love scenes where nature reclaims the things we leave behind. A wonderful scape!
Thank you! 🙌
@@TheCineScaperWhat type of paint did you use for the rust effect? I’m not sure how to identify aquarium safe paints.
I like the concept, but did you have to put any sealant on the truck so it does not harm the shrimp/plants?
I was going to ask exactly that! Ide love to know!
I painted it with waterproof paint. It's been soaking for a while now, and so far, there have been no issues with it. I will report back later on my experiences.
@@TheCineScaper The problem is you just painted rust on the exposed die-cast metal bits. There's still a fair bit of visible die-cast alloy in the shots we can see. Without an actual full enamel or 2-part aquarium safe epoxy coating you are going to wind up with the metal from the die-cast alloy leaching into the water column. Die-cast metal alloys basically always contain either lead or zinc, in order to conform with the mold, neither of those is aquarium safe. It isn't the sort of thing you can use the general aquarium tests for, because it isn't going to show up on an API test kit. It's not nitrites or nitrates, etc. It's just toxic heavy metals. So the longer it sits in there uncoated, the more that stuff is going to build up in the water and on every other surface in the aquarium. It may take 6 weeks to build to toxic levels, it may take 6 months, but it almost assuredly will. Getting a full water-tight seal all around is also non-trivial with a pre-existing model, especially after distressing it like that.
Consider Zamak 3, which is by far the most common die-cast alloy in the US. It is used for all Hot Wheels cars, and is probably used in the little Maisto brand Chevy die cast car you have there. It contains mostly Zinc, with middling amounts of Aluminum, Copper, Magnesium, Iron, Lead, Cadmium, and Tin.
On its own the zinc is already toxic to everything in the tank, but Copper is toxic to crustaceans in particular and the aluminum is toxic to plants in particular. You get a couple of items in the win column, but nowhere near enough to counterbalance, magnesium in trace amounts is at least mildly beneficial. Iron same. Then you wind up with lead and cadmium bringing up the rear, which are very bad for everything you want to keep alive in the tank.
Thank you for the detailed information! I'll be honest, I didn't think about it this deeply. I'll monitor the water parameters, and if anything seems off, I'll naturally remove the fish immediately. I think it would still look great even without it. I'll keep you posted on any developments.
@@TheCineScaper Again, keep in mind, nothing will show up in your normal water parameters using an API test kit - a standard aquarium test kit won't show anything. You can buy one of those wildly inaccurate 16-in-1 drinking water test kits and that will show a few of the metals, but make sure to get one that tests for zinc levels, because that is the dominant metal in die-cast alloys. Unfortunately, those don't come with a test for the cadmium in the alloy, which is toxic at way lower levels. You do you, but this really isn't a question of if, but when it will go wrong. If you keep it, when it does go wrong, please post a followup video so that other people don't do this. The only reason I know any of this, other than being a massive chemistry nerd, is it comes up over and over in fancy tank forums which is how I knew exactly what to look for in your video.
You can easily kill fish with a single diecast hot wheels car, let alone something that size, given time.
Love it, it has depth. Love the mystery of the old van possibly got there, how long ago. Well done.
Perfect like all the other tanks that you make, always a story behind them. The details are splendid
Thank you! 🙏
I really think this is one of your best designs! The shadows you were getting with the natural sunlight was amazing!
🙌Thanks!
Beautiful 😍
Thank you 🤩
Beautiful!
Just Perfect!
100% awesome!
This is absolutely amazing !
Beautiful tank 🎉🎉
Dude....This is your best design yet! Thanks for sharing as always. Too bad you are not in California. I would contract you to help me design a tank in a heartbeat. I love your work.
All the best to you, Tom San Diego
Thank you my friend! 🤩

it works....😊
Love your videos!!!!
That's great news, good to hear! Thanks mate!

You create the coolest scapes, I have ever seen. Greets from Germany!😊
Thank you! 🙌
Love it!
Beautiful Diorama! I live it.
LOVE this, different and creative. Thank you!
Thanks! 🤩

Juste sublime.
Bro drove his chevy to the levy, it wasn't dry
Super !!!! Un grand merci pour la vidéo!

Nice theme🎉
I love it too 🤩
Soooo good the car 👌 tops it off great idea the videos you post have got me doing my first nano tank the work you do is so inspirational 👍👍👍
🙏Thanks mate!
that is the coolest thing I've ever seen!
🙌
Wow 🤩, sieht klasse aus 🫶
Wow
This video was great and I love the old aged look, looks like it has a story behind it too!
Old truck maybe abandoned reclaimed by nature.
Absolutely amazing .
Also, will we get a review of the fluval bio co2???
Thanks! Bio co2 overview is coming.
Once again a very inspiring video from you. Regarding aquascaping and your film making style!
Thank you! 🤩
One more masterpiece by CineScaper. Amazing. There's a many great aquascapers, but you're my inspiration.
Thank you mate!🤩
Nice tank and beautiful detailing on the car! I do think it's a bit too large for the tank, but you made it work :)
I didn't know they make brown colored silicon glue. It's so much better to use it to glue stuff together than the usual superglue. Brown goes well with the wood and you can more easily take the scape apart later on as compared to those that use superglue.
😍Awesome Bro 🔥....
Thank you!🙏🙌

Very artistic… try a sunken boat next?
Yes, this is a great idea!
Thanks :)🙌

Amazing idea! That car figure, isn't it going to alter water parameters because of its metal parts?
Love your work! I’m wondering about how the metal of the car or paint that was used to age it will affect the water, or does that not happen? Thank you!
Absolutely mind blowinggggg...just a little curious to know, how will you manage rust on the car?
Thanks! I painted it with waterproof paint. It's been soaking for a while now, and so far, there have been no issues with it. I will report back later on my experiences.
Beautiful from Bangladesh
Thanks :)
@@TheCineScaper give your fecebook id..i Will contact you
Hello man, your work is incredible. Ask me a question, can the metal of the cart and the plastic harm the parameters of the aquarium? thanks
❤ beautiful 🛻 🦐 🦐 🦐🦐
What kind of paint did you use on the truck? And did you have to water seal it afterwards?
I have recently caught the aqua scape bug!! Love your work…. How do I find what glues/silicones are safe to use?
Thanks mate! Almost all silicone is safe after drying!
Amazing tank sir! Really mind-blowing. One question though, I have a similar-sized Betta tank with fewer plants and is not CO2 injected. So to what extent does CO2 improve the overall quality and growth of the plants?
Thanks mate! There are only a few plant species that don't grow without CO2. In my experience, plants look nicer with CO2 injection. They are much more vibrant and full of life. Of course, they still work fine without CO2.
no worries about the metal of the truck rusting in the water and affecting water quality? Thx!
Do you like the fluval system? recommend it generally? troubles with it, or things a person who hasn't done Co2 yet should know going forward?
I really like this system. Easy and safe! The installation process is so easy. I will share my review video about it soon.
@TheCineScaper question: did you seal the car with any kind of topcoat?
I painted it with waterproof paint. It's been soaking for a while now, and so far, there have been no issues with it. I will report back later on my experiences.
how will you prevent components leeching from the truck?
How long does your scape to cycle?
Stunning! is that just a diecast vehicle? I'm never sure if they are safe in aquariums, so I hope it is as that would answer my long standing question :)
Thank you! I really hope it doesn't cause any harm either. Luckily, I can easily remove it, maybe it will still look good without the car :) I'll keep you updated on any developments, even if they are negative.
@@TheCineScaper thanks I would really appreciate that. I've been dying to do a car scene :)
Diecast models aren't aquarium safe, unless fully coated in a water-safe resin or epoxy.
@@ekmett hmm epoxy isn't aquarium safe either. Polyurethane is. I'll have to experiment
please do reef tanks!
Reef tank is not my cup of tea!
@@TheCineScaper too bad! Really like your videos!
@@kevin916587 Thanks mate! I don't rule out trying it someday. Currently, my knowledge is incomplete, and it's even more costly.
How is the fluval bio Co2? Is it easy to set up. Is it worth the money?
Yes, its really cool. My setup video is coming soon.
Hi, what kind of material is the Buddha made of in the lost world
Brother please update this tank after a month when plants will grow fully
Okay!
Szóval most vegyesek az érzéseim ezzel kapcsoltban.
A barna sziló milyen gyártmány?
Ne sajnáld. Nem tetszhet mindenkinek minden akváriumom. Másnak tetszik, köztük nekem is. Ez ilyen. Soudal a sziló.
@@TheCineScaperKöszönöm
when i die i wanna be reincarnated as a shrimp in this tank.
May I ask how do you intend to keep the temperature of the water constant around the year?
I know it will be room-temperature automatically acclimated water, but won't you have too cold water temperature during winter days & nights?
( or do you run your Home on permanent A.C. controlled temperature though out the year? )
Huuummmmm.... I wonder
Hey! In winter, I heat with air conditioning, and in summer, I cool with air conditioning. It's always a fixed 23 degrees Celsius in the studio. There is an aquarium where I also use a heater.
@@TheCineScaper Thank you for clarifying.
Again, awesome work, congrats.
Thanks for caring, and for sharing...

How do you know if the truck is safe for the tank?
I painted it with waterproof paint. It's been soaking for a while now, and so far, there have been no issues with it. I will report back later on my experiences.
3:50 cannot watch without tears. It should be better to use allready damaged old toy car, which can be easily find for free.
Moss hater! 😆
It hurts when you drill the truck 😅
😅

isnt the car going to leach stuff into the water?
Merci !
Thank you! 🤩
Tu fera attention, tu as fais tomber une voiture dans l’aquarium
I was expecting some country music with this set up
I like your vision🤌 I hope the driver is doing ok
