3:23 "The whole statement that there's no such thing as a nice t-shirt I have to morally object to" I was thinking exactly about a really nice t-shirt I've seen Mark wearing a few times; it kinda looked like he was wearing a painting (the brand was called Illusive (London)). That being said, I'm like Wade: I'll just wear whatever I have around (which was bought by my parents).
Wade is definitely a dad who was smokin Bob is this big tall imposing thing. Who is now a modern dad who is still out of touch with things And then there’s Mark…. The crazy uncle who shows up to parties we’re not sure who he’s related to. But he got “discovered” and is following his dreams.
I understand Wade, I'm a college student and I don't really have a taste in fashon so I just kinda wear things they bought me. I am the kinda guy who'd wear an oversized hoodie and pants when everyone goes for something slim like torn jeans or something, when I "finally get" what people my age are wearing, it's already too late for me to try that, cause it's cringe and outdated
Isn't both Wade and Bob very, very tall compared to Mark and Ethan? I think Tyler is tall too... that would really impact their choices in off the rack clothing stores. I'm just speaking from helping friends find nice clothes for special occasions.
Mark, 5'10 and Ethan 5'8, vs Wade and Bob who are both 6'4. A lot of clothes for men are adjusted to them being taller where clothes for women aren't. 6'4 can be a bit difficult though. Wade having been within a normal weight and have been shorter as a kid means he had opportunities to get into fashion and he just didn't. With Bob being a larger guy it can make looking for clothes harder, I am not as big as him, nowhere near as tall, but I'm fat enough to have a hard time finding the kinds of fun pants I like so I can imagine he's not had the chance to gain an interest.
I'm with wade on this. Clothes are SO EXPENSIVE. I have never in my life gone and bought myself a new wardrobe because I could never afford it. Just buy one thing at a time and wear it until it's covered in holes.
I may be weird but I've always loved wearing cargo pants or shorts if it's nice out, it gives me extra space for everything I bring with me on a daily basis. Nice to know someone else dresses similarly and I'm not alone and weird 😂
@iGYL You're not alone & weird. I wear cargo pants pretty much every day, because of the reason you listed but also because they're part of my work uniform so I get a yearly clothing allowance.

i love that bob knows that nice tshirt are just not a thing to us. my man literally believes he has normal tshirts and nice tshirts and ?? theyre literally all the same theyre tshirts 😭
I am 25 and have never once gone out to shop for cloths. I randomly pass the cloths and pick a shirt or shorts, but have never been there to build full on outfits. Most of my cloths are from Christmas gifts. Wade is right. #JusticeForWade
I definitely think there are "nice" tees that can even be worn with "formal" outfits. How many times have we seen a celeb in just a black tee with a really nice jacket or blazer over it? A fancier shirt would distract from the overwear, a simple tee is perfect for that and it looks sexy and badass. Just because you can't hang a tie off a shirt doesn't mean you couldn't pull it off. Also certain colors of tee, solid colored tees are perfect accent for an outfit and come in millions of colors across the spectrum. I also appreciate variegated thread shirts, this being the striping on Wade's sleeve panels that he called "tiger stripes" lol, a variegated tee is so nice because it creates an illusion of solid color from far away, with texture when viewed closer up. Shirts with buttons and collars are nice, but if you're trying to show off your jacket, or pants, go with a tee, just do it, a fancy shirt just makes it loud and you don't always have to be loud, we're not Victorian England over here, formality as a whole has shifted, a plain black tee is the epitome of style and has been for decades honestly. It goes with literally everything and you can't go wrong unless you're like, going to court and required to wear a suit and tie.
1:11 all throughout middle school I made no decisions about my wardrobe. It was probably about Junior year of high school that I figured out my mom would buy me anything, and that's when I started experimenting with different clothing. The BX had all the trending brands, like Baby Phat, Roxy, all that shit that costs way too much for what it's worth. Then we'd shop at Jusco, which is a department store in Okinawa. Some of it, I still fit into, some of it, nope. I was Itty bitty, about 120 lbs, eating disorder along with substance abuse and always going to the gym because it's free on base

I love showcasing my interests or having something that is funny or whatever. I'm dressing so I don't cause mass harm by people seeing me nude. I'm not dressing to impress others. If I have to "dress up" for me to be worthy of being around a person, odds are I wouldn't want to be around that person.

graphic tee-shirts are useful they let others know what you like and make it easier to connect.... theoretically, i do not the fashion, at all, my preference for clothing is comfy clothing, and a blue hoody thats about it.
It's not really that kids buy their own clothes, but they 100% want to be involved in the choosing and shopping process and pick their own clothes. So ownership of money aside, kids would definitely prefer to shop for their own clothes, whether you give them their own money for it or take them to buy it for them. I think the only "old person" factor to this is the discipline of forcing yourself to go shopping when you DON'T care about or want to shop for clothes, because as you get older you learn that you have to force yourself to do things you don't enjoy or they'll never get done. And also SOME kids do like getting clothes as gifts, it completely depends on how aware your parents are of your style and tastes. I liked picking out my own clothes, but I also liked my mom giving me clothes for birthdays and Christmas because she always picked something I would actually like and wear, and she still does now in my thirties. It's usually that stereotypical movie-family that perpetuated that, kids whose parents are totally out of touch with their kid and get them knee-high white socks and tighty-whities knowing their kid wears sporty socks and boxers every day, like just out of touch. Buying them a polo shirt when they know their kid only wears band tees or graphics tees, that's when kids hate getting clothes as a gift, when someone who doesn't take the effort to know them truly, just dumps what they want them to wear on them, and calls it a "gift" and you'll never wear that thing just because they got it for you hoping you would change your style or something. My parents never had that issue so I loved getting clothes. My christmas socks were always fly af, a few years ago my mom got me socks with weed leaves and joints all over, I love them, favorite pair of socks besides all the Batman ones she got me.
I mean...until i was like 17 I didn't care what cloths I wore. My mother would take me cloth shopping and i literally was like IDC. So, I just wore whatever she bought and was like alright. Even today my SO shops for my cloths and just says this looks good and I'm like Okie dokie.
No seriously, Wade is right. You know you’re starting to get old when you go and buy yourself new clothes that aren’t just basketball shorts and graphics tees. I used to HATE getting clothes for Christmas as a kid and now I literally ask for it because jeans are like half the price of a Nintendo switch for a single decent pair lmao.
I feel like mark somehow has not realized that the reason so many men (and even women) seem to have no sense for what fashion is and what their own personal style is is because Wade’s experience is actually pretty common. Some people just want to be clothed and that’s It Lmao It’s not actually that weird of a concept for someone to only truly go clothes shopping for themselves waaaay later in life than maybe someone whose always been expressive of their own style
Not true. My son loves getting Cloak stuff every year. Birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentines, St. Patrick's, Labor Day, Memorial Day. Any other day he can possibly think of, and also just because.
There should be a CLOAK X Wade collection designed by Wade that would be an interesting collection 😅
Stuff that’s long instead of regular because he’s tall
Would buy them because I'll be honest? I have Wade's fashion sense lmao
A middle aged dad fashion line… I’m sure the cargo pants would pop off but idk about the wifebeater.
