From Clint Eastwood comes “The 15:17 to Paris,” which tells the real-life story of three men whose brave act turned them into heroes during a highspeed railway ride.
In the early evening of August 21, 2015, the world watched in stunned silence as the media reported a thwarted terrorist attack on Thalys train #9364 bound for Paris-an attempt prevented by three courageous young Americans traveling through Europe. The film follows the course of the friends’ lives, from the struggles of childhood through finding their footing in life, to the series of unlikely events leading up to the attack. Throughout the harrowing ordeal, their friendship never wavers, making it their greatest weapon and allowing them to save the lives of the more than 500 passengers on board.
The heroic trio is comprised of Anthony Sadler, Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, and U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Spencer Stone, who play themselves in the film. Starring alongside them are Jenna Fischer (“Hall Pass,” TV’s “The Office”); Judy Greer (“War for the Planet of the Apes”); Ray Corasani (TV’s upcoming “The Long Road Home”); PJ Byrne (“The Wolf of Wall Street”); Tony Hale (TV’s “Veep”); and Thomas Lennon (“Transformers: Age of Extinction”). Paul-Mikél Williams plays the younger Anthony, Bryce Gheisar plays the younger Alek, and William Jennings plays the younger Spencer.
Eastwood (“Sully,” “American Sniper”) directs from a screenplay by Dorothy Blyskal, based on the book by Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone and Jeffrey E. Stern. Eastwood also produces the film, along with Tim Moore, Kristina Rivera and Jessica Meier. The film’s executive producer is Bruce Berman.
Behind the scenes, the creative team includes frequent collaborators Tom Stern, who served as cinematographer on 13 of Eastwood’s previous films, and Deborah Hopper, who has served as Eastwood’s costume designer on 17 prior films; editor Blu Murray, who most recently cut “Sully,” and that film’s composer, Christian Jacob. Veteran art director Kevin Ishioka, whose work can be seen in “Sully” and in “Dunkirk,” serves as production designer.
Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Malpaso production, “The 15:17 to Paris.” The film will be released in theaters on February 9, 2018. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.
This is actually quite unique. Getting the actual Heroes of this true story to play themselves in the film. Clint Eastwood changing the game again.
LocalGuyGaming indeed
Ever wonder what is was like for Audie Murphy redoing all those scenes where so many of his pals died? He must have been a very strong man.
Jill Mayfield was that a spoiler?
It hasn't been done like this before. Using real people in supporting roles - which is what Harold Ford was in 'The Best Years Of Our Lives' or the cameo of Ira Hayes, Rene Gagnon and John Bradley in in the flag raising scene of 'Sands of Iwo Jima' - is a long standing tradition in Hollywood movies. But to cast the actual heroes not as supporting players but as the main leads in the film might be something quite new. I can't think of any precedents offhand.
TheOx62 yeah it's called "To Hell and Back" lol...the main role was played by Audie Murphy, the actual guy who the story is about...
I just got to know today that the actors are the actual people who were in that incident. Now it is in my must watch list !
Common Sense You in mama's basement smoking dope and just saying it's a hoax cause it makes you feel Good? Shut the fuck up and get a job
Common Sense nope, one side is much worst than the other.
It shows to but that's not what makes this movie suck. I admire Eastwood for using the actual guys but whoever wrote the screenplay failed big time. My understanding is it was adapted from a book the guys made of their account. Maybe it worked for the book but it did not work for the movie at all. I'm not overstating this and I watch a lot of movies this might be the worst film I've seen in 10 years. The last 15-20 minutes are the only thing worth watching.
yo tmb .. dije al comienzo , como se parecen a los actores jajajaj
Wait whutt?! 🤯
I love how the trailer is basically a motivational video.
Yup!
I hate how americans always got to overdo everything, i hate how cinema has become less and less original and americanlike. Classic american propaganda, when are americans going to fund a movie about the Bataclan attacks and the heroism of the french people who delt with it ? Oh my bad, there were no americans involved that day, they don't get to brag and bring their filthy culture in the spotlight...
@@engineering7530 Americans where the heroes so the Americans picked it up. It wouldn't have been profitable if it wasn't relatable dumbass
@@engineering7530 you are pretty dense, obviously in America people feel related to this guy, make a movie in your own fucking country, don’t cry like a bitch because nobody here cares
Who's the motivational speaker in the video?
This was a very inspiring movie. The backstory was very important to Spencer's story. What he felt as failure in those areas that he was interested in serving in the military, trained him to do this unexpected mission. Thank you all for you your service, true patriots.
I'm sure Spencer and the boys gotta be using this incident to impress the ladies in every bar for the rest of their lives 🤣
And rightfully so.
Well only a handful of folks would have a story as badass as this to brag about. They atleast deserve that much privilege for saving God knows how many lives.
87years old and still make a movie every 2 years and best part is they're good..Clint Eastwood(Legend)
He lifts weights. Healthy as a horse. Hope he lives beyond 100.
You know it man this guy has always been my hero Director or actor he is my idol
Except this movie was terrible
He 87? I learned something new. And wow.
You're lowballing his ratio, he's made 19 movies this century, with four years where two of his films were released.
They play themselves? holy sheeeet.

Sorry bro...I'm not into gaming that much. More interested in movies tbh.
Man of Steel u
Man of Steel I loved Clint in the classic spaghettis and Dirty Harry...but is it me, he got so much better when he started playing aged versions of these same characters - Unforgiven, Blood Work, Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, etc. - and directing?
I can't believe the man is still at it at his age
Same heroes, same train line, same passengers that were on the train, same victim who was shot in the neck. I'm amazed right now
same terrorest
It’s true. An interview with Clint Eastwood and the guys confirm it. Here’s the link to the show

Really brave young men. But is the movie any good? Not really. This is content for a 30 min documentary not a 90 minute movie.
These actual heroes non actors look more natural than many Hollywood "actors"
Mr. Tey but why are they always "White" hero's ???
Wow
You know WB can do these movies right, butt they CANT GET THE DCEU RIGHT?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I can't believe they're playing themselves. It takes guts and courage. Reenacting the real life experience they went through. But it all makes sense because they witnessed and experienced the whole attack and saved thousands of lives. I salute these heroes.
Running towards the barrel of a rifle that take guts ....... that’s a hero right there I can’t wait for this movie :)

THEY ARE ON THE AMAZING RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this movie. Based on real events played by most of the actual people involved. It’s the opposite of a Hollywood movie with their fake cliches and social justice quotas. I like how they portrayed the military fairly accurately. Like how they taught military members to hide under a desk. That was what they actually taught. I think it’s taught slightly different today. Also not getting to be a pj because of depth perception, accurate! Lol sorry for laughing that’s true tho
This is not true. The so called terrorist is played by an actor!
AMAZING! I just clapped in front of my phone

With the REAL heroes playing the roles as themselves
I would absolutely recommend watching this movie to anyone!
The fact that is made after true events and the actual people to whom this things had happened were the actual actors just make the movie 10 times better!10/10
Imagine what it must've been like to act out how the actual thing you did went down. Crazy!
So a 2-minute long incident condensed into a two-hour movie?
2 minutes cant be condensed to 2 hours, kid

You should really pull a Hannah Baker you spink
Bruh, they just corrected you. Why are you so offended...? I mean, condensed was not the right word to use 👍
Now drop it, before you come across as hypersensitive.

Steven Lovejoy You are stupid as they come.
Suddenly there is this influx of military-ish inspired films these days every studio is releasing.
this had been a trend since film was invented
And this is just a trailer . . . :)
Quantum Warrior i saw the movie .. its shit
Was expecting an on your seat action movie. Instead we get two hours explaining 3 random peoples lives and then 10 minutes where the *SPOILER* bad guy gets beat immediately. I watched it on a flight for free though, it was better than staring out of the window, barely.
The ad makes it look really good. It’s not. The script is terrible. The actors aren’t great. And it just drags. Like, so much. And the train part is literally only on for like the last 5 minuets of the film. The rest of the movie is them just being late for class all the time and having pointless conversations about shit whilst they travel around places. And it’s a bit confusing at times in the way that new characters will appear and then all of a sudden they’ll just go and there’s no context to where they went or anything. Which personally, I didn’t like. The only thing I liked about this movie were the camera shots that had been used.
So overall I thought the movie was really bad and I found it very boring.
But go see it if you want! 😬🤷🏼♀️😂😂
OMG! Can't wait to see this. I have a son in the military and am from Sacramento. This clip had me in tears.

This movie was pure horseshit. Terrible actors, terrible plot. Don't let the trailer fool you
Sure makes one wonder how they would react in a similar situation doesn't it? Would you hide (no shame in that) or would you "go for broke"? I often times ask myself what I would do. These men reacted. Was it training? Divine intervention? Adrenaline? Who knows. I would hope that I would have the courage to act but unless put in that situation I will never know. What's in your wallet??
I'm asking myself the same thing
Just watched this movie!

Superman and Batman aren’t heroes, but these guys, these guys are real heroes.
Looks like it's a motivational video
So cool to see that these three guys are getting the recognition they deserve. When this attack happened I was working at a Jamba Juice in Sacramento, the one that Spencer Stone worked at a few years before. He was still on good terms with my managers and came into the store on my day off which I was super bummed about.
They all went out for drinks in downtown Sac and Spencer was stabbed by a man for defending one of my managers. Obviously he's all good.
Just a cool little thing to know that I was only one person away from knowing this hero and his friends! Can't wait to see this film.
The film missed to point out that the first hero, the first guy to step up, was the guy who got shot. That’s why he got shot in the first place - he wrestled with the terrorist and tried to take away the shotgun. He was the first to notice something was amiss before the attack and he acted on it.
In real life, did they actually fail to recognize him?
Well said.
People will say its great just because it has American heroes in it. But the truth is that it is very boring and horrible movie. If you value your money then do not waste it on this.
This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen in a theater.
Ian Lack honestly one of the most painful plot and acting performances
Horrible. I don't know wat people see in this movie. Dragged on for days
Yeah it was not good at all. Terrible acting. The trailer makes it look good but it sucked
Funny thing about that is there is some other guy posting how great it was and claiming its a must see. Im like what movie were you watching lol
I have watched this trailer multiple times.... still gives me chills. The speech and the music makes you feel good. Clint has done it again.... and this is only the trailer!
Agree ❤ 100 💯
Bravo Clint. A true legend.
For those that don't know, this is a story about Spencer Stone who (with the help of his friends) stopped a terrorist attack on a commuter train.
They were not even the first to tackle the gunman, the first being a Frenchman and were three of seven people. But as usual, Americans are going to take all the credit, like all their war movies. Just disgusting.
To be fair, the Frenchman was the first to respond, but he was subdued. The body of the work was done by those 3 men, regardless of their nationality - It just so happens that they were Americans. So yeah, the story is easily made around them.
And fuck everyone else, right Boba?
Harrison Fived Did you read what I said? The story is centered around the most crucial point of the struggle, the people that actually subdued the guy. What, you want participation medals in the film for the rest of them?....doesn't work that way.
Dude 'the people that actually subdued the guy' included more than just the 3 Americans. There were 6-7 in total, including a 62 year old Brit who used his necktie to tie the asshole up. Funny thing is they used the real 3 Americans to make this move, so they themselves knew when Clint yelled "action" and filmed them doing it all on their own - they would've known that's not how it actually went down. but whatever, right?
These men are real heroes. Unfortunately they are not qualified actors. Nor is their story long enough for a feature length film. Not sure if writing was bad or they actually tried to re-create their actual conversations throughout the vacation sequence. Childhood scenes were the best executed but the least relevant.
Cannot recommend the movie.
slapped by a hat Nobody is forcing you to watch it. But still you watched it. 😆
Clint is a true patriot ... he stands tall in the swamp
plumlogan
Lmao
Actually I think this is probably the one and only movie I've noticed so far that Clint Eastwood screwed up on. One report. Their stated that the one guy had hit the terrorist in the face with the muzzle end of a rifle at least a half a dozen times. The movie doesn't show the graphic on how badly those three boys beat on that terrorist.
@@joeellis2692 They should have beaten him worse.
Not anymore
This is the first movie I've wanted to go see in a long time. Awesome.
Final Rantasy same here!!!
And I regret it. Good story terrible movie
Le Pa *MILD SPOILERS* Acting was pretty bad. A lot of scenes didn't make any sense as in there was no point for it even being there because it added nothing to the events. Childhood flashbacks were dragged out and characters were introduced poorly. They kept switching the scenes from what happened on the train to the events leading up to the main characters boarding it. If you didn't watch this trailer like I hadn't, you wouldn't understand what this movie was about until there was about 15 minutes left of the movie. This movie was pretty much a biography gone wrong. Almost comical for how bad it was. 2/10 for me.
Noted. I'll probably still rent it though.
aznmmv00 yes it sucked! wasted my damn money to watch this. the movie canbe compressed to 20 min and still get the same results
These men stopped a terrorist wielding an Ak.... American or not this is a great story not “propaganda”
its more than "propoganda" its racist sexist and homophobic come islam prooves this by beating woman killing non muslims and pushing homosexuals off of buildings
It's been a long time since a trailer gave me chills like this. Good on Eastwood for telling this story, and even better on those soldiers.
Clint Eastwood did a great job telling the story of the events that unfolded that day on that train to Paris.. To me he told the story in the most honest and least sensational way possible.. Watch it for yourself and decide if he did so to you as well..
The best/worst movie I've seen since the Room... Eastwood is full on senile and prejudice as director,,,
Bravo Clint. Keep up the good work
seen it, honestly sooooo funny because of how bad it was
Lol those guys came to my high school and had a seminar lmao
The acting was so awkward and the whole point of the movie was about the failed attack on train but that was only a 20 minute segment of the movie.
Mind blowing how bad it was lol
My sister and I loved the movie and thank Clint Eastwood for using the real heroes! We had not been to see a movie since "Sully." This kind of heroism is what kids need to see, not the robots, vampires, machine guns, explosions, and car chases of violent fantasies. These three wonderful young men show the example that each of us CAN make a difference no matter what our background. They were not the smartest nor the best students growing up, but they had loving, Christian mothers who formed their inner cores. Clint Eastwood had the insight to see that he could not duplicate the bond that these three have by using actors. Well worth seeing this great tribute to real heroism.
anyone come from the amazing race??
This movie's terrible, stop doing lame hagiographies Clint and got back to creating your own stories for your movies. His worst movie since J. Edgar. A top Razzie nominee for sure.

It is...... from a certain point of view
Saw the movie tonight, it was terrible. Movie was dragged out for 2 hours, last 15 minutes had a bit of action. It was basically an autobiography.
MoMo...thank u yes. The ones that say this movie is good are something else. Stop lying to yourself and others. Horrible movie.
The grin on the guy in the green shirt looked sort of creepy to me.
I will admit it was not Clint Eastwood's best movie. It had potential in terms of a good story but the plot was unfocused and it seems they we're more concerned with a film that was like real to life in it's dialogue and the way it unfolded. Reality is not like drama in being a sequence of structure/plots that correlate to a conclusion that builds up. The film was meant to be a way people really are and the way life unfolds but that does not translate well to cinema. The acting at times felt like a made for network film. Had they chose to give the book to a better screenwriter and chose some experienced actors it could of been something especially with the subplot about how Stone seemed to have been building up in preparation for the gear he would be in the abstract clockwork of life. They chose to be experimental and dropped the ball but I will say there were some glimmers of good catharsis in the film. Besides the point all these men are real heros and celluloid or digital does not need to justify that projection.
I just saw it ; I was waiting the hole movie for some action ; only the last 15 minutes you can see actually the train scene; I didn't enjoyed it ; I guess I was hoping something different. It should have been called Spencer stone's life ...
MoMo i
If you are looking for a Jason Bourne movie, you'll be disappointed. It moves slowly at first as we go through the background of the three young men but it helps to understand their friendship and motivations. To watch to movie and realize that you are watching the guys that actually pulled off this heroic feat adds an extra dimension to the film. Kind of like watching 'To Hell and Back' with Audie Murphy. No, not the worlds greatest actor, but the guy that actually did all this stuff.
So this film only portrays the Americans that were involved? What about the French guy who confronted the terrorist first? Or the Brits? Is this yet another revisionary American movie built to big up the US and it's citizens while ignoring the efforts of others?
I love how they used the actual true heroes who were the ones who lived thru the experience!
I loved this movie! The actual hero's were in the movie, which made this movie so fantastic. Thank you Clint Eastwood.
Fuck !!!!! I got watch that movie can't wait
Clint can flex on the true story and on the actors playing themselves as much as he wants, but this movie is garbage
Clint Eastwood needs to pump out hundreds of movies before he dies. We are gonna get swarmed by liberal propaganda movies for the next 40 years.

And the point of this was...?

PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. Literally nothing happens throughout the entire movie, the acting is terrible, the script is horrible, the whole story feels forced and generic. This is a prime example that not everything should be made into a movie.
Parasite is the same thing except 15:17 to paris is great
Probably because the main characters were played by the main characters. If you don’t know what that means, it means Spencer Stone was played by Spencer Stone (himself). Many things happen throughout the Movie. It shows the childhood of the main characters, and shows their time in the military, (and of course the rising action to the main event which the film is based around). If you don’t like the acting, then watch a movie that is casted with actual actors. If you don’t like the WHOLE story then you might as well just watch the climax. I haven’t seen the movie in a while, but I do remember many things happening throughout the movie, like when the Spencer’s friend moves away which brings his emotions down, when there is an alarm at the military base and Spencer decides to wait at the door with a pen and a terrorist walks into the train with a gun and the main characters disarm him. The two out of two out of five things I agree with are the last two points you made. The script is quite forced and generic, which I genuinely expected because it is a Clint Eastwood movie that is based off a true story which have been quite dull lately. And yes, not everything should be made into a movie. Some people might want a film of Lou Reed, or David Bowie, rising to fame and might be expected to have a good plot because rising to fame has a simple line. The start to finish isn’t exactly start to finish and over. Of course there has to be obstacles and fascinating things that have actually happened in that line. But if you don’t add the obstacles to the film, it’s not going to be a very successful movie. (Is anyone actually reading this?) I’m going to use companies as an example. I certainly don’t think companies should have movies about them either, unless there is a important story behind the company. There isn’t a story behind Höfner, so a movie wouldn’t be necessary and it will just feel like the entire movie is leading up to a story but ends just suddenly. But Movies like ‘The Founder’ or ‘Wall Street: Money never sleeps’ do have stories around them and don’t feel like nothing. I think if you want to watch a movie which rises into a single climax ‘15:17 to Paris’ is a great film for you. But if you want to watch something else, watch ‘The Matrix’ or ‘The Martian’. All in all, I can see you point of view and I hope you can see mine.
I would never kill myself but I also wouldn't ever run from a shooter, just saying.
I love everything about this movie. Except... the movie. Like, it was a small little ordeal. Not nearly enough for a whole movie. Kind of like Sully, except theres even less things that happened.
I cant hate on it because how awesome it is that the actors are the real guys, and since they were real damn heros, but theres no way the movie will be good.
Anything from Eastwood is bound to be great so I can't wait for this!!
I think its SOOO amazing that Clint cast the real life heroes in this! And that he actually took on a real life hero story to film! Cannot wait to support this film when it comes out! You’ve got my attendance in that theatre chair, sir.
Great movie. It's hard to know when faced with a life or death situation if one can rise to the occasion and subdue the threat. True heroes, all that can.
That moment you realize they didn't credit the people playing themselves in the trailer
00:39 yes they did?
"Portrayed by the actual heroes" just means 2 hours of bad acting.
I beg to disagree. I knew next to nothing about this movie when I watched it,had no idea the main characters played themselves.
There wasn't a single moment where I thought "they can't act,who are they?"
Yeah, it is so like Clint Eastwood to make movies with bad acting. SURE!
