Loving The Freightliner Ya'll | I'm Still working for Prime Inc | Happy I Chose Tanker | If your thinking of changing careers to being a truck driver this is a great channel with lot's of honest answers and information.
If your thinking of coming to Prime Inc or want to get your CDL license. I honestly believe Prime is a solid company to start your trucking journey.
Make sure when you fill out the online application @ www.primeinc.com put my driver code STREXA on page 2 of the application when it ask who referred you. Thanks for watching my video 🙂🙌💯
If you want to be speed limited to 65 ya...
Don’t ever feel pressured by drivers behind you. Drive your speed and let the others drive their speed regardless of what they say on the CB radio
Agree 100%
For the new drivers, when the weather is cold, do not shut off you truck unless you can plug in a engine heater. On one owner operator truck I had was equipped with a forward shooting lazier to warm of black ice on the upcoming road, pretty cool when running the Rockies. Safe distance and slower speed usually keeps you out of trouble. Your correct that when speeds are to slow you are better off shutting down. Stay safe, thank you for the video.
Solid advice !! It’s my first winter. Speed and distance are key !!
Big respect to you! Safety first! Make me happy to hear, this are something I always say. Gud bless you and your family and happy holidays 🎅🤠🎄
Never heard of auto socks. Only chains. Interesting. Thnx for the video Rex!
Back in the day, there used to be a small alcohol tank under the hood on the firewall that fed an injection system just after the air compressor to keep the brake lines from freezing up and not working. The days before Air Dryers...
Thanks for the info bro! I'm a rookie and this winter will be my first.
You bet!
Stay safe out there man. Love the channel
I appreciate that 🤙💯
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Stay safe on the road. Weather is bad everywhere to include deep south Texas
Same too you bro 🎄🙏🤙💯
When that storm hit us in Michigan I called off I’m a local dedicated driver I go to Ohio and back everyday. They were predicting 50 mph wind gust and I go through a lot of farm land. So I knew the wind would be worse, so with that and then on top of all the snow and possible white out conditions. I just called off and stayed home for the day.
Merry Christmas Rex. Stay safe out there!
Same too you 🎄🤙💯
My daddy who is now a heavy haul rotator driver always says slow down below 30 degrees and in snow conditions. He does not need to come out and see you big trucks hurt, wyoming was already bad this year, be safe in my state.
I always tell my drivers ain’t no load worth ur life❤❤❤❤❤
I really like this intro a lot. You are very correct on all your point about driving in bad weather. You have to slow down, use common sense, always watch out for the other guy. Your head is always on a swivel from the left mirror to the front windshield, and then to the right mirror. be safe out there and merry Christmas to you and your family.
I appreciate that and same too you 🎄🤙💯
Hey bro
Just be safe
Merry Christmas.
Wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year
Same too you 🙌🎄💯
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Yes you have to hang chains or socks. They are there for DOT. What you did is correct, park and wait. One accident is devastating to many and raises your insurance.
Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and your family also 🙏
As long as you are carrying alcohol, pour some in glad hand and it will save you using hammer and potentially damaging brakes
I got into that last night going to Nashville went from rain to windy AF then suddenly sleet then snow in less then a mile it was wild lol Made my delivery and it was a total white out on the way back until i got over to Manchester lol then it was clear. One of the biggest thing's I hate about winter driving is when it rains then freezes it Ices up the wipers. -w- Anyway Stay safe dude! :D
I agree 💯🤙…. You as well bro 😎
This man mane tanker look fun an easy ash
merry christmas rex
Same too you 🎄🤙💯
Reduce the air pressure in the tyres it helps a lot.
👍👍👍👍
Those Super Singles tires on your tractor suck in the snow, they slide real easy.
🚛❄️❄️❄️☃️
I just got out of there. I was stuck in Nebraska for 4 days
Glad you got out, a lot of people got stuck or towed out 🙏🤙💯
Im a rookie do you use engine brake on snowy mountains? Some people say they do some say they dont
I avoid them when weather conditions are bad so I keep my speed low
Who pays for windshield washer fluid an extra fluids for the truck when you’re out on the road? Your self the driver or the company? If you buy them do you get reimbursed?
I’m a lease driver so it’s my job to pay for those (anything I purchase for the truck is a tax deduction) I’m 1099 employee. Company drivers are reimbursed if they purchase fluids etc
Why did you go lease instead of company? Just asking. Not sure what the pros and cons are. Still need to get my cdl and try
do you not cary chains to put on when there’s bad weather
I have autosocks instead of chains
-13 but has the window down lol
If I was to lease from them will I be able to run regional even doe I’m leasing
Prime has dedicated, regional and OTR for both company and lease drivers. But that depends on locations. I’m out of Springfield MO so no dedicated or regional for inedible tanker. I run mostly Midwest some west coast. Hope this helps ya! 🤙💯
You aren't doing a lease purchase? Just a regular lease on this new truck?
When I put in this truck order primes lease purchase program was shut down due to shortage of trucks, 4 days after signing this lease they reopened the lease purchase program. I’ve already contacted success leasing to see if I can convert this truck to a lease purchase and I was told no. Also I don’t have 14K laying around.
@truckingwithrex I was just wondering because of the breakdown pay. If you go to lease purchase then you lose out on the breakdown pay. I thought you were purchasing it. Still worth it though. Nice to have all the luxurys while out there instead of an old beat down truck
will u try the flatbed division later on ????
Flatbed was my 2nd choice, I spoke with both flatbed and Reefer dispatchers. I was told based on my location I’d make the most💰 running tanker + more home time + less miles… I’d run more, be away from home more to make the same money or less running Reefer or flatbed
@@truckingwithrexin that case what state do you live in ? I live in in GA, I wanna do tanker but I wouldn’t mind doing reefer as well , where ever the money is !
Where did u buy a gas powered semi-truck, I put diesel in my truck. Lol
Yooo
How long are you out before going home?
Usually out 10-14days then home for 2
7:50 but you're an O/O, what about the Company drivers? Are they so encouraging with them?
Im a company reefer driver and i shut down and message in saying that im shutting down due to weather and they dont say anything about it
But they encourage all to shutdown if its necessary
Yep same for a company driver, tell your dispatcher roads are unsafe or you don’t feel safe driving and shut it down til you feel comfortable too start Rollin’ 😁🤙💯
love the channel but the intro is blasting,
@@TruckingWithRex. ok Rex sounds good
