In The Force Awakens, when Rey is escaping Starkiller Base, just before she climbs down into that huge-ass wall, there are two stormtroopers having a chat about the new T-17's. "Have you checked out the new T-17s?" "The T-17s, as far as I can tell, are a great improvement." "Yeah. That's what they tell you. But believe me, they don't hold up." "They don't?" "No." Noticed it after watching Rogue One
I thought about that immediately - I think it was David Collins who was saying they wanted to make it a running joke throughout the series and helped write the scenes and voice the stormtroopers for Force Awakens and Rogue One. Always figured it was talking about the T-16 Skyhopper that Luke flew through Beggar's Canyon
what about when cassian says "we need a map" and k2 says "well im sure theres one just lying about" could be a dark forces reference because sure enough maps and plans were just thrown about randomly
Liam the nostalgic nerd It was most likely for balance purposes. The developers wanted to keep the revolver aspect, but they thought 3 bullets would not be enough, so they made it 6 in game.
At 8:46 on the right hand side of the screen you can see what was likely the original transmission tower before they amalgamated it with the central base later in production :) also Star Wars Explained is amazing, cheers for brightening up my days :D
Did you not see the Ghost during the space battle above Scariff? It is seen joining the fleet out of hyper space, as well as doing a fly by in front of one of the rebel ships.
The clone wars movie doesn't have a crawl either. I remember being really surprised when I saw it in theaters. But with Rogue One I wasn't all that surprised and pieced together that non saga movies dont get crawls.
Rob .Nice I don't think the shield would hold up against the Death Star. Krennic messed up so therefore since the archives have been breached the empire needed to destroy their facility at all cost to keep the Death Star plans out of rebels hands. War is war and everyone is expendable
I think the raw power from the Death Star's laser would have blown through the Planetary shields of the world like it was a glass window. As I bet Alderaan also had Planetary Shields too. Though could argue that they weren't up during its destruction but I would guess if it was a Rebel world that was defying the Empire. The fact of the Death Star showing up. The planet would have had its defenses up. Alderaan is not a young word. It had a history. Sure most of it is now Legend history. Though most could fit in the canon...as no one could argue with it now. Being the planet is GONE. Long with its bug problem. So the shields would have meant nothing. As even in Return of the Jedi the Death Star 2 barely finish blew through two Mon Calamari warships like they were cheap starfighters. Mon Calamari Star Cruisers were feared by the Imperial Fleet. DS2 just BOOM! Blew them up. Battle Ready and shields to full. BOOM! BOOM! So yeah...DS1 could have punished through the shields regardless if they were still up. Though I think they were down as the Hammerhead Cruiser that pushed two Star Destroyers into the Shield Gate caused a failure in the Shield Grid and the whole system shutdown. Either way did not matter. Scariff is a wasteland now. GG everyone. You killed 7 Trillion people in the span of 2 hours.
Qardo I disagree. There are no ”rebel worlds”. Even if rebels were stationed there, that does not make every citizen a rebel. Such a base (”world”) would be attacked immediately. And nobody knew about the Death Star, so I doubt they would activate their shields, if they even had one. Imperial forces showing up is not unusual. Alderaan was part of the Empire after all. Scariff was an imperial research facility, I doubt that it had a population, besides the troops stationed there.
Star Wars explained this is a off topic question but do stormtrooper armour has sizes or is it adjustable because Rex has a different size in Rebels P. S : love to be subscribed to you and I learned alot about Star Wars because of you and May the force be with you:)
thank you for such an informative video, I really enjoyed it. and yes I squealed a little too when I saw red leader and gold leader from episode 4 in rogue one 😁
I just want to say that as i watched this video a huge rush of nostalgia mixed with future hype hit me. WE LIVE IN A TIME where there are people connecting story lines and random characters with an OLD franchise that was a previous 2 generations thing with the sometimes very sub par additions that came 1 generation ago. The fact that Saw is in CloneWars as a teenager, Rebels as a Man and RogueOne as an Old man is a perfect example of what i mean. He wasn't in ANY of the original trilogy but he made his way into the canon via two cartoons and a movie that was placed in the timeline making it really feel he was there right around when the original trilogy was made. few that's a LOT and i don't feel i'm expressing my thought very well. I hope this makes sense. Any way i just LOVED this video and videos like this going forward would be great. I JUST LOVE all the connections between the movies. Plus the behind the scenes stuff is really cool.
You mentioned you could hear " General Sindula" being paged. You missed a page for " General Solo"...I'll have to listen again for the scenes... when Jyn leaving the meeting & out onto the tarmack...
I forget where I saw the article, but Artoo is also briefly seen in an X-Wing at the battle of Yavin, I believe with the same markings as Biggs X-Wing.
On the subject of Krennic's cape, it is mentioned in Lost Stars that long capes are fashionable on Coruscant. It is at the start of the ball, in the description of what the boys are wearing.
Sam Witwer (Starkiller & most recently the voice of Maul on Rebels) voiced one of the Storm Troopers & also voiced the Rebels that Vader slaughtered in the hallway at the end of the movie.
From Saw's Partisans. If you have the movie, go to 48:59 and you can see another outside Saw's base, it's the scene where they evacuate after the death star fires.
Gareth Edwards' character is also canonically in Episode 4, and he sees himself as the reason the Death Star was destroyed at all, as seen in his interview with Tomska.
15 years before ANH. At the rebel meeting Jyn said that she last saw her father 15 years before. However, she could have been approximating so it could have been 13 as the previous two replies say.
I thought cause krennic likes old fashion stuff, like his DT-29 that needs to be reloaded manually. And his shuttle was a old design that later got put down by the empire. Also with krennics gun it says it's customized to add a scope.
you forgot that Woboni is obi won but scrambler up and the scene where the troopers come in the rebels imperial ship and get knocked out is a refrence to a New hope.
Hey, I have a question! Can a Kyber Crystals suffers from overuse? So will lightsaber blades become more ineffective over time, so that you'll have to change it regularly?
I'd also like to talk about a couple of interesting planet names; Wobani which is Obi-Wan scrambled (although that seems to be a coincidence) and Eadu. Eadu is so close to Eriadu, which is Tarkin's home planet. It just kinda bugs me that there are two completely different planets with such similar names.
Another bit of trivia about the Hammerhead... It's not the exact same ship, as the one from Knights of the Old Republic... The ship from KotOR was a Cruiser class vessel, along the lines of Nebulon B's (like the one the Tantive IV, ejects from at the end of Rogue One), og Victory Class Cruiser (slightly smaller than Imperial Star Destroyers)... The Hammerhead ship in Canon is a Corvette class vessel more akin to a Corellian Corvette, like the Tantive IV. Mostly noticeable by the sheer difference in size, and also, the lack of guns on the canon version, compared to the one from the video game :)
The Rings of Kafrene reminds me of Omega from Mass effect. Both are big, dark, dense, dangerous space station cities built out of asteroids. Kafrene is just built on two asteroids instead of one and has less red and orange light everywhere.
what I think is really cool is in Empire Strikes Back the snowspeeder pilots are Rogue Squadron, and none of them use Rogue One as a designation in the film. There's a Rogue Leader, but no One.
Ahsoka Tano: "Careful not to choke on your stupidity"
Darth Vader: "Careful not to chocke on your aspirations director"
Like student, like master.
Double meaning: stewpidity.
When does Ahsoka say that?
"Jyn's stormtrooper doll is named Stormy" MY HEART
One of Saw's gang on Scariff shouts "Karabast!" when he sees the AT-AT's... Zeb isn't the only money to use that word. 😊
Wobani can be re-arranged to be "Obi-wan"
"You just watch yourself! I have the death sentence on 14..." "...13..." "...12 systems!"
none of those planets actually exploded and even if, he was talking about systems, not planets so those death sentences would still work either way
I doubt any civilians can even go to Scarif and Evazan probably doesn't know what happened to Jedha.
I still think it was funny
*11* systems!!
orchestration online and swe!? whattt.
I never thought two legends would cross paths.
love your score analysis, sir.
So Krennic woke up, saw his own super weapon being used to kill him, and realized that he approved the one design flaw that would destroy it. Ha!
The Lost Padawan yuup
Jyn literally turned into 'Stardust'
what a savage
and Saw literally turned into 'Sawdust'
Soloboi eh....... wah........it is evilly funny
Soloboi good I hated Jyn for getting the death star plans to the rebel sum
Darth Vader ye rebel sum 3+3+1=9:3=3 illuminati confirmed???
"TIE Reaper" is a pretty badass name, honestly.
It fits with the Death Troopers, too (i.e. Grim Reaper).
'Rogue One' is a pure perfection.
Please please can you do something on Shmi's origins and the Skywalker's migration to the outer rim. Where was Anakin born, etc.
I think Bessy did one on Shmi.
Sluice Friggins little is known about her, it is known she was sold into slavery by the Hutts and was bought by Watto and moved to the Outer Rim
StopMotion MakerHD you better beleive it!
Sluice Friggins that would be interesting
Sluice Friggins he was born from the Force, making him The Chosen One. and according to Maul, Luke is The Chosen One
I don't care what people think, I pretty much loved Rogue One, and I cannot wait for it's UK Blu-Ray release this coming Monday!
In The Force Awakens, when Rey is escaping Starkiller Base, just before she climbs down into that huge-ass wall, there are two stormtroopers having a chat about the new T-17's.

Isn't the "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" animated movie the first star wars movie that has no opening crawl? 🤔
Rilhon it was released in theathers so "from a certain point of view" :P
It had one, it was voiced
I guess he was talking about real-life action.
"animated movie". That's the answer.
i think the truth is one of ewok movies would be the first
"[...] before he takes the deathstar superlaser to the face" I could not stop laughing :D
what about when cassian says "we need a map" and k2 says "well im sure theres one just lying about"
could be a dark forces reference because sure enough maps and plans were just thrown about randomly
krennics gun his six shots according to Star Wars Battlefront
Starkiller100 yeah it's the gun I use in Star Wars Battlefront and it has six shots
Liam the nostalgic nerd I'm inclined to believe Ben over Battlefront.
Liam the nostalgic nerd It was most likely for balance purposes. The developers wanted to keep the revolver aspect, but they thought 3 bullets would not be enough, so they made it 6 in game.
Battlefront is not 100% canon
Dais channel I know
What about "KARABAST"
At 8:46 on the right hand side of the screen you can see what was likely the original transmission tower before they amalgamated it with the central base later in production :) also Star Wars Explained is amazing, cheers for brightening up my days :D
Did you not see the Ghost during the space battle above Scariff? It is seen joining the fleet out of hyper space, as well as doing a fly by in front of one of the rebel ships.
Just rewatched it last night! Love this movie!
I liked the ending. Though I knew *spoiler, scroll down*
they all gonna die. At least not cheesy hollywood ending.
Krennic: I was once a director like you, then I took a superlaser to the knee
Zerebrat Eightyseven it’s a Skyrim reference
7:46
ARE WE BLIND?! DEPLOY THE GARRISON!
"I used to be an Imperial Officer like you, then i took a super laser to the knee."
- Director Krennic
The clone wars movie doesn't have a crawl either. I remember being really surprised when I saw it in theaters. But with Rogue One I wasn't all that surprised and pieced together that non saga movies dont get crawls.
uberbeaube thats it
Love this film, thank you great stuff
If the planetary shield on Scariff was still up, would it have stopped the Death Star laser? Or would it have stopped a little bit then failed?
Rob .Nice I don't think the shield would hold up against the Death Star.
Krennic messed up so therefore since the archives have been breached the empire needed to destroy their facility at all cost to keep the Death Star plans out of rebels hands.
War is war and everyone is expendable
Rob .Nice if you think about it Tarkin could just order the shield to be lowered for a few minutes.
Great question
Star Wars explained
this is a off topic question but do stormtrooper armour has sizes or is it adjustable because Rex has a different size in Rebels

I love these trivia videos!
5:46 Oh, it's beautiful.
the Ghost was in the battle of scarif I was soooo exicted pointing at it!!
Is anybody else getting the “flat earth” wiki article with the video?
Such an underrated movie! One of my favorite star wars movies
what happened to Admiral Raddus?
deadasian23 Probably captured and killed...that whole ship
he was killed, confirmed by Pablo Hildago including a squid meal pic on Twitter
"Interesting...very interesting. And tasty."
Julio Chao Mon Calamari are people too!
Hidalgo just posted a picture of calamari on Twitter in response to the question.
Raddus was executed by Vader.
3:30 I've always wondered what those things are on Bail Organ's lapel. I think I see them on other characters but in other areas also in pockets.
They're data sticks. There was a STAR WARS REBELS episode that featured them prominently in season 3.
Also called code cylinders
Thanks I've seen them so many times and always wondered what they were.
Good information! Appreciate all you do ... Rogue One has to be in the top 3 of a ll STAR WARS Movies!
Actually Star Wars minute, didn't The Clone Wars movie also not have a title crawl?
I’m glad rogue one went through some reshoots feels more like the original trilogy and makes the movies far better when they take there time
The Star Wars The Clone Wars movie didn't have a crawl. I like the idea of only the "main" numbered films having crawls while the spin offs don't
You mentioned you could hear
" General Sindula" being paged. You missed a page for " General Solo"...I'll have to listen again for the scenes... when Jyn leaving the meeting & out onto the tarmack...
There were several things that I did not know here!
Wobani is also an anagram of Obi-Wan.
krennic got hit by karma
I forget where I saw the article, but Artoo is also briefly seen in an X-Wing at the battle of Yavin, I believe with the same markings as Biggs X-Wing.

Tell that to Kanjiklub.
The first attack Saw's Guerillas do is on a tank, in reference to the first tactics Rex and Ahsoka taught him.
I love Star Trek! I hope episode 9 has Picard in it!
So no information on that crashed X-Wing on Jeda?
From Saw's Partisans. If you have the movie, go to 48:59 and you can see another outside Saw's base, it's the scene where they evacuate after the death star fires.
At 6:55 is that dak? The middle pilot.
if anyone thought the Vader escort to the home one at the end of Rogue One were Tie Bombers, they were actually Tie Landers
TheAdoatates cool but it is called the profundity not home one
How do you know?
The Stormtrooper doll was named "Stormy"
I laughed way to hard.
Great video!!
Great video, as always
wanna buy some death sticks???
yes
NEEED death sticks... NOW. Where do you wanna meet?
" you don't want to sell me Death Sticks!"
Deadpool5050 republic credits are no good out here
" Credits will do fine" *Waves hand*
Excellent video
death star super laser to the face *laughs until he passes out*
Finally! Someone pointed out the old clone tank.
Gareth Edwards' character is also canonically in Episode 4, and he sees himself as the reason the Death Star was destroyed at all, as seen in his interview with Tomska.
The door that shuts on the Tantive IV before they detach is the same door the troopers blast through a few hours later.
@ 4:38 is it just me or is the thruster on the StarFighter a ARC:170?
The primary turbolaser batteries on the star destroyers are dual-barrel cannons in Rogue One. This contradicts the Octuple-Barbettes seen in Rebels.
Great job
"The very weapon he created" have been heard so much times in the last videos lol !!
Good Job!
yeeeeeeessssssss a Biggs mini-rant!!!!
"Death Star super laser to the face" hahahaha dead
Wow these easter eggs are awesome
Laamu comes from the name of the island Scarif was filmed on, the island is called GAN, ,Laamu Atoll
When did in the begging of Rouge one take place, where Krenic arrived to bring their family to the Empire? Was it 1 year after order 66?
Starman the movie begins in 13 bby, about 6 years after order 66
Jyn is about 21 in Rogue One. She is 8 in the first scenes. So about 13 years before the battle of Yavin.
15 years before ANH. At the rebel meeting Jyn said that she last saw her father 15 years before. However, she could have been approximating so it could have been 13 as the previous two replies say.
Beginning* dumbass
Man I love Star Wars
I thought cause krennic likes old fashion stuff, like his DT-29 that needs to be reloaded manually. And his shuttle was a old design that later got put down by the empire.
Also with krennics gun it says it's customized to add a scope.
Question(s).
Why did the Tantive head for Tatooine rather than high-tailing it to the senate or at least Yavin 4?
obi-wan
How do we know that the Dauntless left crew behind? Krennic says later that all Imperial forces have been evacuated.
heresjohnno you can read this information in the book to the movie
th star destroyer above jedha is the same one carring the operation cinder staalite at fondor in battlefront two
you forgot that Woboni is obi won but scrambler up and the scene where the troopers come in the rebels imperial ship and get knocked out is a refrence to a New hope.
Hey, I have a question! Can a Kyber Crystals suffers from overuse? So will lightsaber blades become more ineffective over time, so that you'll have to change it regularly?
please do: The Force Awakens Easter Eggs, Inspirations, Trivia, and More
Cassian is from a Planet called Mexico.
I absolutley love Rogue One! Who is watching in 2019?
I have counted six appearances of Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels. At one of that count I heard her unique blaster sounds.
Mostly noticeable by the sheer difference in size, and also, the lack of guns on the canon version, compared to the one from the video game :)
It also hinted that the Cruiser version did still exist, and the Corvette version was modeled after it.
1:10 He have a same rank plaque as the General Tage in ANH..
There is an imperial probe droid in the background of one scene on Jedha. Just noticed it the other day.
I love those black storm troopers.
The Rings of Kafrene reminds me of Omega from Mass effect. Both are big, dark, dense, dangerous space station cities built out of asteroids. Kafrene is just built on two asteroids instead of one and has less red and orange light everywhere.
4:27 Warwick Davis is in every Star Wars movie, just like how Stan Lee is in every Marvel movie.
warrick davis is actually an ewok in episode 6 too! and he owns a game show but i think it's british tv only
A lot of interesting facts but still no mention of the rebel cargo ships from the battle of Hoth. (TESB) Johan.
9:20 pablo hidalgo said that the hammeread was in return of the jedi.
I like the references to dark forces and knights of the old republic
I had no idea there was Rebels easter eggs in Rouge One. If you was not looking for them they were easily missed.
what I think is really cool is in Empire Strikes Back the snowspeeder pilots are Rogue Squadron, and none of them use Rogue One as a designation in the film. There's a Rogue Leader, but no One.
Question for the Q&A: Do you think Galen Erso's work was remade for the Second Death Star?
5:01 and the Phantom Menace and also the bad batch
When the Death Star laser hit krennic I bet he thought " oh it's beautiful "
“Krennic perfered the bold architecture. He is literally a hipster”- geestly, 2019
