    Also in "Shattered", during Maul's corridor scene, one of the clones (the one that will loose his arm) mention "Ridge is down!". During the assault on Teth in the Clone Wars movie, when the LAAT are under fire, we hear "Ridge, your com's gone static." Which means that Ridge was with Ahsoka during her first and last missions with the 501st.

      In the 2008 clone wars movie during the attack on Teth, this specific group of clone from the 501st is Torrent Company (so Ridge was part of them) and after Anakin living the clone for saving Rotta the Hut the clones get surrounded by droids. At this point only 2 clones are left ; Rex and a unnamed clone. So I believe this clone is Ridge, because we now know that he survive the assault on Teth.

      @Wedge_Khan 4 года назад +77

    • @darthdand6513
      @darthdand6513 4 года назад +83

      I wouldn't put too much hope into that, as The Clone Wars was incredibly expensive to produce and largely funded personally by George Lucas himself.

    • @Bryan-dr5qy
      @Bryan-dr5qy 4 года назад +79

      Animation and art style should not be conflated. Clone Wars and Rebels are stylised but in different ways. For Clone Wars George wanted to push boundaries of 3D animation and go for a new art style hence the more angular textures. For Rebels Dave and the team wanted to pay homage to Ralph McQuarrie concept art (thinner lightsabers, Vader's mask) and Kenner figures hence the smoother textures which is a call back to the books and figures fans in Dave's generation collected over the years and played with in sandboxes. But both shows were under the same animation supervisor and crew.
      Animation isn't just about budget, it's more about time and the crew working on it. Yes George heavily funded Clone Wars but it didn't go into the pockets of animators it went into developing the rendering technology. If Dave wants to tell his post-Rebels story in animation the animation team will already have access to the assets that George put funding into (that's why Rebels had more refined animation than the majority of Clone Wars, better smoke and dust animation, explosions etc.), the question of whether it will look refined or not depends solely on the time they're given and the talent of the crew and knowing Filoni he won't rush a story into production before he knows what he wants to tell.

    Also, an indirect reference, Ahsoka in the war room on Mandalore says to Obi-Wan, _"Tell Anakin,"_ Obi-Wan responds "I will", and they both end it with some sort of mutual unspoken conclusion before she leaves with Rex.
    Then you realize that when he yells, "You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!" in Revenge of the Sith, he does so for *both Ahsoka and himself,* saying what she would never get to say to her former Master.

    "I am one with the Force. The Force will guide me."
    The Clone Wars, S05E06 "The Gathering"
    I recently rewatched that episode and one of the padawans looking for her crystal meditates with the phrase, "I am one with the Force. The Force will guide me." Talk about having a bit of a "Wow" moment, as this episode was produced probably a year before the Disney purchase, and several more before Rogue One. Did someone in the story group remember that TCW line and modify it for R1? Is it a coincidence? Either way, it's very cool and helps tie the saga together.

    The droid "GG" seen in the last 2 episodes is actually based on a train called the Pennsylvania Railroad GG1. The official name of the droid as seen in concept art is "RG-G1" and it's got the same shape, color, and gold pin striping as the locomotive. If you look up "GG1 locomotive" you'll see the resemblance immediately.

    In "Dangerous Debt" when Rafa is telling Ahsoka about how their parents died. She mentions the Jedi that came over to her saying "I'll never forget it, she was beautiful dark robes contrasting against her light green skin, penetrating eyes, she looked at me and said 'I had to make a choice, but not to worry, the Force will be with you.'"" Its speculation of course, but I am under the impression that this was Jedi Master Luminara Unduli. The description really fits her, and the attitude toward losing a loved one is quite similar to her attitude when its was believed her apprentice Barris Offee and Ahsoka Tano were thought dead/dying on Genosis. It is just speculation but I think its quite possible it was Unduli.

    This bombing was the first event we see in Mandalore in Star Wars Canon and is seen as the start of the militant era of Death Watch. Now the monument is a smoldering reminder of Duchess Satine and the collapse of the New Mandalorian peace, showing what theyr were trying to avoid.

    During the first episode of season 7, after the Clones and the Bad Batch are shot down and destroy the initial responding squad of Droids, a Super Tactical Droid lands with a handful of B-X Series Commando Droids in escort to survey the damage, causing him to contact Admiral Trench directly to relay the situation.
    He tells Trench that these particular Clones happened to be using tactics they'd never seen before, to which the Admiral asks him whether or not he thought that a Jedi was accompanying them.
    He answers, "No, just Clones." And Admiral Trench responds, "Interesting. They're on foot now and alone in the woods. Locate these Clones and inform me if the incursion escalates."
    It's made pretty clear that the whole reason behind bringing in the Bad Batch for this particular mission was because the Droid Army had been analyzing their battle tactics and using them to predict their movements with increasing success.
    Bringing in a Squad of Clones who naturally DON'T adhere to any set style, standard, or method that the Droids would be able to predict is precisely what the Clones needed to do in order to pull off the mission that gets to the heart of that advantage.
    It's actually quite brilliant storytelling, really.
    There's so many little nuances and story beats, things fundamental to the very reason any given character does anything at all, showing their motivations better than most movies that have dropped recently, even in the Star Wars Universe.
    It's a testament to the exceptional thought that goes in to making each episode, so much so that some aspects tend to go right over most people's heads entirely lol I haven't heard anyone mentioning that little detail about the Bad Batch arc, until I was just re-watching it again and it suddenly became clear.
    Anyways, I was so obviously impacted by the realization, apparently I just HAD to come and share it here lol in this comment section, where it may go by completely unnoticed anyway!
    Fingers crossed I guess!🤞

    I think Ahsoka’s grey cloak might be an homage to Gandalf. Here, she is Ahsoka the grey, but at the end of Rebels, she is the resurrected Ahsoka the White. Dave Filoni even has a drawing of Gandalf and Ahsoka talking about how Gandalf also came back to life on his Instagram. Interestingly enough, both are drawn as their “grey” versions. Gandalf has grey robes, a white sash, and his iconic pointy hat, and Ahsoka has her grey cloak over her final Clone Wars costume.

    I thought this about the Darth Vader scene in The clone wars finale:
    In the last scene with Vader , the sister (morai) is flying over. She is the living embodiment of the light side and Vader turns his back on it but he doesn’t leave it all behind, he takes Ahsoka’s lightsaber with him which symbolises that he hadn’t fully turned to the dark side. I think Ashoka’s lightsabers represent the fact that there was always a slither of light in Anakin and it just needed a push from Luke to fully stand out.

    I think the lightsaber is actually Ventress'. She did use a lightsaber identical to that in Dark Disicple but we didn't see it... For very obvious reasons as it's a novel. Ventress was the last of the nightsisters (Not counting Merrin who hid herself away from the outside world) meaning that the nightbrothers would die out as having no females left on their planet. Something which Maul tells us eventually happened in Rebels. Meaning that Ventress was the last (to his knowledge) Nightsister, and Maul would become the last Nightbrother, meaning that the saber represents Dathomir as a whole.
    The saber was also likely left on Dathomir with her corpse, a place which we learn that Maul visited often, so it is likely that he turned the crystal from yellow to red and treated it as the other half of his new blade

    The Phantom Apprentice duel between Maul and Ahsoka has a much deeper meaning. While on Mortis, Ahsoka’s life was drained out of her, and the Daughter, a representation of the light, gave Ahsoka what life left she had. Ahsoka was therefore ‘pure light’. Maul on the other hand has numerous relations to the Son and the dark. When Maul first appears in the episode ‘Brothers’, he quotes, “Chains are the easy part, it’s what goes on in here.” While Ahsoka is help captive by the Son in the episode ‘Altar of Mortis’, he says the exact same thing. Another similarity is that Maul and the Son are voiced but the same actor. Maul was therefore ‘pure darkness’. This implies that when Maul and Ahsoka are duelling, it is essentially a duel between the light and dark, with the light winning, though being the underdog. This foreshadows the victory of the rebellion and the resistance.

    Another connection, or "Easter Egg";
    The Clone "Ninety-Nine," who had suffered numerous genetic and physical defects aa result of being malformed during the Cloning process and subsequently deemed unfit for service in the Army, instead providing janitorial and maintenance work in the Kaminoan Cloning facility made his first appearance in the amazing, "Domino Squad" arc, in which the Clones "Fives," "Hevy," "Cut-Up," "Droidbait," and "Echo," were shown as Clone Cadets during the final phases of their training prior to deployment.
    Ninety-Nine was instrumental in helping the squad overcome their adversities, allowing them to successfully graduate, instead of being considered a "Bad Batch" by one of the members, Cut-Up. And their first real mission was at a Republic Army listening station outpost on the Rishi Moon.
    Unfortunately, only two Clones would survive when the Separatists assaulted the Rishi Moon outpost, Echo and Fives. An assault that was necessary for the preparation of a larger Separatist attack on the Kaminoan Cloning facility itself, where Ninety-Nine would give his life while helping his Clone brothers mount a successful defense, and Fives and Echo would be recognized by Captain Rex and Commander Cody for their heroism and be awarded by being promoted to Arc Trooper status by Generals Obi-wan and Anakin Skywalker.
    The two connections are; The Domino Squad referring to themselves as a "Bad Batch" and the Clone Ninety-Nine, which is the official name for the Bad Batch we see in season 7, who are called in to help Captain Rex mount a rescue of the last remaining surviving member of Domino Squad, Echo. 👍😊
