I remember some people complaining about the music during the Star Destroyer crashing part, saying it was too “happy.” But I think they were missing the point that it was a small moment of triumph in the battle. I sometimes think Star Wars fans want everything to be the most obvious rock opera type soundtrack, which don’t get me wrong, has its place, but interesting music cues like that are what become memorable over time, not the generic film score stuff

    1) The trailer showing Jynn Erso in her black imperial disguise in front of the sequentially illuminating lights which wasn't utilized in the movie

Well, not exactly, as Rogue Squadron originated in "The Empire Strikes Back," but yes it was expanded upon much more in the supplemental material in both the old canon and new. I also agree that it was an awesome to retcon the etymology of the unit name.
I also like to think that the call sign "Rogue One" is unofficially retired like a retired uniform number for a sports team, as the first Rogue pilot always has the Rogue Leader call sign instead, despite being far from the only Rebel fighter squadron to do that.

I love how Krennic had that "oh poodoo" moment when the Death Star appeared. He knew his Porg was well & truly cooked.
    2
Andor not wanting know the chances of failure or Jyn using a blaster against him was a subtle call-forward to Han never wanting to be told the odds.
    3
Chirrut was my favourite character. Using the Force of Others, he was able to eliminate a squad of Troopers with little more than a bowstaff and take down a TIE with a light bow.
It's too bad that "Solo" wasn't 50% as good as R1. I wanted more Imperial backstory, more Darth Maul, and less Woody.
But that's just my 2 Credits.

11:42 I always loved that little comparison between Tarkin and Krennic in terms of their leadership capabilities. Krennic simply, yet aggressively barks his orders. Another good example of that being the "Are we blind?!" line on Scarif. Meanwhile, Tarkin is more smooth and elegant in a way with his delivery. It's almost like a younger brother desperately striving for admiration and attention, while the elder brother knows exactly what to do in order to obtain it. It's a good comparison between two rivaling, high ranking Imperials

I love (most of) the new movies, but the stakes are SO MUCH HIGHER when you are starting a revolution. The risks that everyone takes, the small acts of deffiance, the politics, everything is on a different scale, it's not about a wizard messiah with the power to save the universe by himself, it's real people with fears and hopes, risking their lifes and the ones of their families

At the very beginning of the movie, we are in space and look up at an asteroid belt. Before I figured out it was an asteroid belt it always looked to me like the scrolling text at the opening of A New Hope, as if we are looking at the text from the underside. I still believe that was intentional- to subtly indicate that this story is the story behind the opening Star Wars text. It shows the rebels and their first victory against the Empire and how they stole the secret plans mentioned in the text. Very fun and clever and not something I have heard anyone else mention.

Hope has given me the strength to keep going through not only some of the toughest times in my life with the acceptance of my sexuality whilst also in coping with depression and suicide, but also to keep hope alive in my partner in his battles with depression and anxiety. It's the only quote I've considered getting as a tattoo probably paired with a starbird.

Dude, maybe it was because it was a packed theater and it was the first showing of the day, which means the A/C didn't get turned on right away, but I was sweating by the end of this movie back in 2016. They did such a great job at amping the tension in this movie, and despite knowing that the retrieval of the plans was going to be a success, the journey of making it happen and not knowing what was going to happen next that almost didn't let A New Hope happen was so well done. It's one of the best movies to come from Star Wars since the Disney acquisition.
There are a few things I don't love, I can do without Ponda Baba and Evezan, R2 and 3PO's cameo should have been saved for Leia's scene (Like, have a guy give the chip to 3PO and then have him ask Leia what it is if he really must be the focus of a shot.), and I don't need the names of places in the corner if you have literally just told me where the gang was going next, but since you did it for every other planet, why not Mustafar? I know, they wanted to keep it a mystery, but then you might as well not done it for any of the other locations. It's like saying @-@ when you can't do that with any of the other AT vehicles. I demand consistency.
But you know, everything else is pretty great. It's what the Sequels should have strived for when it came to making them feel part of the same universe. Just little connections without being a big fuss. This had Prequels, Clone Wars, Rebels, and Original Trilogy stuff littered everywhere amongst all the new stuff, too. That's how it should be done, that's how fan service works. I've heard people say that Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie, and I don't know if I would go that far (It's obviously Return of the Jedi) only because what helps make it so enjoyable is that it has context from all the other stuff that came before so you can appreciate those fan service moments, but it is pretty spectacular and I'm sure that since most of that fan service is well done, it doesn't hinder the movie for people that don't know.

My favorite moments, the entire movie! Am I crying, yeah I am and I’m not ashamed, it’s freaking beautiful!
You had me at the fake ending haha I didn’t actually think you would leave out Vader but maybe doing a special video on just that idk but that was fun.

This film is the Dirty Dozen of Star Wars films and is without doubt my favourite, of the newer films. Can't wait for the TV show.

Hi Alex, I raised this question before but I don’t know if you’ve answered it. It’s great that the bad batch clarified what Project War Mantle is, but here’s the thing, according to K2SO War Mantle, as well as other project code names Jyn read out were in the “schematic bank, data tower 2, structural engineering” within the Scarif archive. I don’t know if anyone else noticed it but clearly phasing out clone troopers does not belong to any type of engineering projects.

I only realized a couple of weeks ago thanks to someone else, but I never noticed Vader’s helmet was in the poster in the Death Star

3:27 It;s always the little things in Star Wars. Empire wouldn't have fallen if some guy in shield generator hadn't gotten overeager and opened the door without verifying the situation.
16:39 I think he was yawning. That or he was warming his hand up.

I still don't like that the Tantive IV was even at Scariff. To me Vader should have gotten to the control room just in time to see where the transmission was being sent as Leia was already on her way to get Obi Wan Kenobi... who she doesn't know.
My favorite moment is Jyn's escape on Wobani. She doesn't know who wants her but she doesn't care, kicks some ass and makes a break for it only to be immediately grabbed by K2S0 and thrown to the ground, knocking the wind out of her and K2's response was gold.

He most likely meant that Cassian feels a lot of repressed guilt over many dark decisions he had to take throughout his life. Be it for his personal survival, or in the name of the Rebel Alliance.

Rogue One was not perfect. However it was obvious Disney put some genuine effort into it. Good story, plus fan service, plus new content, plus a story that tells a story. PS...I loved Tarkins CGI. PPS...Forest Whitaker is a fantastic actor. Clearly he had a small role, yet he was memorable. . He is like Brando. He takes something small and makes it better.

The entire final act on Scarif was so emotional and epic. It made me truly love these characters who I only knew for an hour or so. It's great that we got to see that the smaller, seemingly unimportant soldiers, or even non-military folks like Chirrut and Baze truly did contribute to saving the galaxy.
Also, the Star Destroyers crashing, Raddus mourning the Rogue One's crew, and Darth Vader's rampage are incredible.

What I like about this movie is it blurs the line between good and evil. Saw Gerrea may be fighting the empire but he doesn't care for civilians caught in the crossfire. Also Galen Erso was part of the empire and made the Death Star but did it because he believed it would help people.
