I've been using this lens for almost 3 weeks, it is phenomenal! I continue to be stunned by its sharpness wide open all across the frame. It is like my XF 16mm F1.4 at f/8! The AF with latest firmware works very well also on my X-T3. I used it in AF-C mode + focus release priority for general subjects and had very few misses, delays or hunting.
Thanks Gerald! Yes it is a great lens. Previously i had a bit of reservation because of the autofocus performance, but it seems Viltrox managed to fix it with this 1.0.1 firmware already!

Hi Richard, thanks for your recommendation and I really like the Viltrox lenses and your reviews . One guy said he cannot get the lens to repair. So I am curious and wrote to Viltrox online official store, they told me that the lens have 2 years warranty but never answered me about the service repair if product expired. I worked for Sony service centre as engineer repairing audio products many years back. It is important that products must have after sales service . As for cheaper version most don't have weather seal again rain that after certain period of uses the electronic parts maybe exposed to vapour and it will fail to function or accidently if drop the lens to ground . In that sense, Viltrox products is not cheap as it don't have after sale customer service to support.
I haven't got any experience with the repair process, but I did hear a few people complained about it. I will feedback to Viltrox next time i talk to them.
It looks like the lens performs worse on the X-T3 than it does the X-T5? But I can confirm that the AF is now significantly improved even on the X-T5 model too. I noticed a MUCH better improvement in low light. But this somehow managed to be significantly better. Very surprised firmware was able to make such a difference.
hi Kevin, do you mean the autofocus performance is worse on the XT3? I'm not surprised. Afterall XT5 is much newer! Great to hear you also noticed noticeable improvement on your XT5. Yes I'm surprised too. Usually firmware updates can bring only minor imporvements. But somehow this one is a major improvement.
@@TheRealRichardWong yes, I saw several people slam the 75mm for its AF performance and it was never really THAT bad on the X-T5 and X-H2S (which I sold). But now that I see how it behaved on the X-T3….yeah, that was BAD! Haha
Hello, can somebody please help me with one problem that I am having? I put the lens in aperture A mode and now i cant undo it. Its stucked in A mode. Is there some switch to unlock it?

The larger sensor definitely has advantage in image quality. But with the right lens, the Fuji can produce beautiful photos and video too. I still have't got a chance to do some in depth testing of the XH2S so can't comment on it's video quality. But S5II's overall video quality and video feature is the best camera I've tried at its price range.
@@TheRealRichardWong In the end I tried on Windows and got it working, but only when holding the cable in at the same time. Think I may have a lose connector!
I can't answer that but easiest way to know for sure is by connecting your lens to the computer using a USBC cable and you can check the text file on the lens "drive"

There isn't a easy answer, but if you like to blur the background, the viltrox is better choice
Which Workflow and overall image do you prefer between the Fujifilm and the S5ii? Can you get similar results. Video quality much better on S5ii?

The lens isn't showing up as a drive on my mac mini? What am I doing wrong?
Try a different cable? And what Mac OS version are you running?

yes try a difference cable, hopefully can give you a more solid connection

Hi Matthew, i just tried download the latest 1.2 firmware and it seems fine! Just a little bit slow but no issue
The beta update is excellent, but it screwed up AF+MF. Reported to Viltrox.
looks like it is fixed with new 1.0.2 FW!
