    Good information on what I deem to be one of the best AR's available anywhere. I own a Gen 4 P415, Colt LE 6920 socom and a Ruger SR -556 and the P415 is superior by far. Frank and his company (POF-USA) are truely the best in the industry and he stands for what makes America great...DEFENDING FREEDOM FROM TYRANNY. God bless America.

    POF-USA is hands down the best weapon manufacture. Period. The innovation and craftsmanship that goes into these builds is amazing. I personally own a P415 Edge pistol and a P415 Edge 16 inch rifle. Both are incredible machines that I plan on owning for decades to come. Terrible news that Frank DeSomma passed away recently. What a tragic loss for the firearms community.

    in POF rifles You can go back-and-forth between steal and brass ammo's because of their E squar chambering system. It's a push pull system using the gasses

      Very true I’ve been hands on in that field and they both work great

      You adjust the gas?

    • @boygonewhoopdataZZ
      @boygonewhoopdataZZ Год назад

      Not really something special, HK does the same thing with even longer grooves and POF didn't couldn't patent that because someone already did it so they just shorten the groves and instead of all around the chamber neck they used only four slits

    • @hectormorales5306
      @hectormorales5306 Год назад +1

      @B-Lou It was special when HK came up with it. And it is very smart for POF to adopt it. And if you've ever had a stuck round in the chamber. You know you wish all manufacturers thought like this.
      BLou. Go shoot some more kid.

    I have a 415 Edge - It's really heavy loaded with a 30-round mag and a 4x32 ACOG. That's my only complaint. I don't know why you double-talked the reliability issue. Stoner actually designed a piston version. Colt made the APC (Advanced Piston Carbine). The weapon has a suppression-ready fluted barrel, which is lighter and cools better than previous M4 barrels. It is claimed to have "markedly better" accuracy. To improve reliability, Colt used an articulating link piston (ALP) which "reduces the inherent stress in the piston stroke by allowing for deflection and thermal expansion". In traditional gas piston operating systems, the force of the piston striking the bolt carrier can push the bolt carrier downwards and into the wall of the buffer tube, leading to accelerated wear and even chipped metal. This is known as carrier tilt. The ALP (articulating link piston) allows the operating rod to wiggle to correct for the downward pressure on the bolt and transfers the force straight backwards in line with the bore and buffer assembly, eliminating the carrier tilt. This relieves stress on parts and helps to increase accuracy.
    So, there are the good and bad facts. Di's still shit where they eat and that will never change, And they do it where it could do the most harm to a rifle. Iraqvet8888 couldn't kill a POF 416. It lasted 3-times the round count of a DI. It's a heavy beast but it will keep you in the fight.

    Isnt carbon corrosive though? Wouldn't it eat up the metal at some point if you never clean it?

    Cool review and excellent rifle. And excellent information/ explanation on steel cased ammunition and brass cased ammunition.
    P.S. what would you recommend on the piston plug as a lubricant. So it doesn't freeze shut and unable to remove? Thank you.

      Apologies, I am just noticing this. I personally use Froglube which seems to work amazing. It like a grease when cold and like think oil when hot. Does not run off the weapon.

    POF sold me a rifle with a bad barrel. They no longer manufacture the 6.8 SPC barrel. They initially told me they would replace the upper with a .224 Valkyrie. When they realized that they did sell me a faulty barrel, they changed their story. This is after I have purchased 4 other POF rifles. I am SICK about this and causes me to wonder about the financials of this company. I would avoid these guys at all costs if I could do it over again. YMMV-JMHO-Caveat emptor....

      Do you realize how much it cost to bring back manufacturing that's been discontinued? They would have lost money on all 5 of your rifles.

    Just for my curiosity, what is the rated/suggest reliability before stoppage?
    Also I didnt see properly, but is there an second/third mode in the gas plug(also called gas regulator)? Ive never handled an AR family up close.

      @BurnerTactical  8 лет назад +2

      +n8d0g According to American Rifleman "The San Bernardino, Calif., Sheriff’s Office tested a full-automatic
      14.5"-barreled 7.62x51 mm NATO POF carbine for its Special Enforcement Detail in 2013. The testing put 35,480 rounds through the carbine (which did not experience a single malfunction until round 23,500 when the
      buffer spring gave out), and they did not experience a single failure to extract." - www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2015/5/5/patriot-ordnance-factory-s-p415-carbine/ The current count is 68,580 with only 33 malfunctions, 7 small parts replaced, and normal maintenance and only 2 cleanings! (with occasional lubrication). pof-usa.com/torture/

      Thanks for the information. I was a little confused with the modular M-Loc talk from another video. I just ordered the P415 and I bought a Nikon P223 scope for it. The scope arrived already but still waiting for the AR-15. Great video, very informative. Thanks for the post. It's hard to believe that one of those fired 70,000 rounds. I can't wait to get it.

    Have a question just bought one gen 4 when you pull the bolt carrier group back does your operating rod seem to move back and forth when you move the barrel up in a upward position or downward position? Thanks in advance.

    • @BurnerTactical
      @BurnerTactical  4 года назад +1

      Ed V yes and that seems perfectly normal. It’s a short stroke so the rod moves freely unlike a long stroke AK piston as far as I know .

    What's the
    CALIBER: MULTI mean? 6.8 and what?

    • @ramboitaliano1776
      @ramboitaliano1776 7 месяцев назад

      Saw no one commented here but multi cal means that the lower can take multi-caliber magazines depending on the upper. So if you have a .300Blk upper you can run .300Blk mags with that multi lower. If you have a .458 upper you can use .458 mags (just AR15 mags but are single stacked with .458). If that makes sense. The lower is multi caliber but you NEED to make sure you’re running the appropriate upper in conjunction with the ammo.

    What type of rail system is the scope mounted to? Do you know what size it is?

    • @BurnerTactical
      @BurnerTactical  8 лет назад +3

      It's a standard Picatinny rail. It seems to add about half an inch to the top of the upper. Be advised that this is one solid continuous piece from front to the butt stock, that adds immense strength to the weapon.

    • @DatGrunt
      @DatGrunt 8 лет назад +1

      What BUIS would you recommend? I've heard even the troy micros are too high for this rifle. Even when the front sight post is all the way down you'll be hitting your intended target several inches lower. The only ones that seem to work are the diamondback micros but man they're expensive...

    • @BurnerTactical
      @BurnerTactical  8 лет назад +1

      I use generic steel BUIS from amazon which are very strong and durable. Zeroed them off the optics and I have the red dot "lolly popped" on the front sight so I don't imagine this is an issue at all. Of course I am running riser mounts on the optic because of the standard height BUIS.

    • @tonysantamaria19
      @tonysantamaria19 8 лет назад

      I just got the P series Nikon mounts and they are too tight to fit the picatinny rail the P415. Should I add oil or force them?

    • @BurnerTactical
      @BurnerTactical  8 лет назад

      Doesnt hurt to try. My front sight and PEQ-15 replica gave me some issues, but I just kept playing with it until I found the sweet spot.

    Its to bad you just couldnt use a tripod. And I'm not a fan of you using that flag as a rag... Kind of disrespectful

    • @BurnerTactical
      @BurnerTactical  4 года назад +1

      I respectfully understand how you might feel that way. This flag was ready for disposal because it was already torn by the wind. It is not being used as a rag, its a backdrop to this rifle because POF frequently uses the American flag in their pictures. Its a rifle that is made in the USA and I am proud of that. I see you recorded a hand held video on your channel as well.

    What's an assault rifle?

    • @BurnerTactical
      @BurnerTactical  8 лет назад +3

      Apparently....."An assault rifle is a selective-fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine. The term assault rifle is generally attributed to Adolf Hitler, who for propaganda purposes used the German word "Sturmgewehr" (which translates to "storm rifle" or "assault rifle"), as the new name for the MP43, subsequently known as the Sturmgewehr 44 or StG 44." - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle

    • @m118lr
      @m118lr 5 лет назад +4

      ...NOT..an ‘AR’. THAT’S all you need to know. Just kidding. It’s a slang, dreamed-up term that somebody applied at one time to military weapons that have SELECT FIRE fire control groups (FCGs). Think M16, the original rifle...
