Fire sword goes straight to D tier, and it would go even lower if possible, this thing is an active liability. I have two major arguments. 1) Durability. You said it yourself, the fire damages the weapon. How long will it last until the edge is lost, or the sword becomes too damaged to be usable? I wouldn't want to find out in a fight, especially with how little the fire actually benefits. 2) Visibility. When you had your play spar, you noticed that the fire impacted your vision, making it difficult to judge where the end of your sword actually was. It is clear that this made you hesitant as well. It is one thing to say that you would not hesitate regardless against a real enemy, but that could also leave you out of position to defend yourself against them.
But thats the problem. There is no vibranium for you to make it out of. And i dont even know what thors hammer would be... a comet? Part of the biofrost? i know its not just steel!
"I can't rate a thrown weapon higher than B-tier." Immediately rates a BOOMERANG in S-tier. I'm beginning to suspect some Aussie bias in these reviews...
Boomerang, while it's name, was basically it's tertiary function, at least in reality. And throwing sticks (including semi-returning ones) aren't uniquely Australian. Throwing aerofoils have shown up in places on most continents throughout history. It was just supplanted by other stuff over time .
@@Grandwigg turns out throwing a heavy stick is a useful and easy to make. just some prefer a pointy end (throwing spears) and some like to have a lot of small ones if you miss rangs. Heck a one handed club is pretty throwable
More generally, rating any thrown weapon low purely because "you're throwing away a weapon" does feel a bit inappropriate. Thrown weapons have absolutely been significant battlefield weapons in the past (eg Greek peltasts, Roman pilae and plumbata, just off the top of my head). Rather than just rating a weapon low because it's a thrown weapon, I think it would just be that things like portability and economy would be more important in judging the weapon than they would be for a melee weapon. If they're cheap enough to be disposable and portable enough that you can carry a few of them, and have reasonable effect on target, then they'd be practical throwing weapons.
Well if it didn't T might lose his other/paying job with the the big stick nutter. So not sure we can accept that rating as unbiased.... On a serious note that is as it should be really, a long stout stick is a very hard weapon to actually beat, and of this list just about the only weapon with a particularly real and enduring historical analogue. The cartoon and meme weapons facing off against a 'real' weapon can only have one result.
I came here to make this exact comment hahaha. Sticks Reign Supreme! I am impressed my personal rankings were all but one identical. (The folding saw thing I ranked one tier lower)
Hey Tyranth man. You said the Wolverine claws could use some tweeking to make them better. That could be a cool concept for your channel, making upgrades to flawed weapons to make them more functional. Enjoying the content man. Rock on!
@@rayzuke1232 Well, arguably--a better fix would be to make it attach via gauntlet to the arm over top of the fist. That way one can put better force behind it. Arguably, and this is where it might take some thinking--the problem with the reduced penetration might be overcome by pneumatics. All you need is extra force. So....maybe giving that extra force might make them significantly better.
Tbf, the difference between his claws and Wolverine’s claws are that Wolverine’s claws are bonded to his own skeleton. The reproductions Tyranth made don’t work because he’s having to grip them. With Wolverine, the pivot point is all the way back inside his forearm, meaning he has a distinct mechanical advantage and cannot be disarmed.
He also put fists in S tier, while other weapons with very short range he said shouldn't have more than B tier. Oh, and Daredevil sticks also A tier, while it should be at most B tier.
I think it would be interesting at some point if you did "rebuilds" of some of your favorites. Ones where you feel like you could make one or two changes and improve them without sacrificing the heart of the design.
I've thought that with some of his builds but with more time allowed to go into the build instead of being rushed, since some of the rushed builds always seemed to have flaws from the materials used and not always the design itself. while it would also be nice to see more built to be the lore accurate size, with how almost anything he's used or talked about that's 5lbs 2.5 kilo or heavier seems to always be to heavy to be practical for anything I don't think most would get a fair rating even if they ended up far better.
I think there is exactly one benefit to wolverine claws in canon, adamantium asside. They are part of his body and always available for use. That's it.
That is a pretty good bonus, and I would say they have one further benefit - as not only are they always there waiting for use whenever he needs them but even if they were just bone/steel having them be so much more integral to his arm as they must be anchored into his forearm somehow - so to actually be able to disarm him, blow through a block etc would be an extra challenge if they were real in ways T can't really replicate as he has to hold them not have them anchored to his skeleton... With that more durable attachment they would fight rather more like a genuine weapon as they are along the lines of the Indian pata, just with the three blades (which is suboptimal), so while I personally don't think the gauntlet sword style things are great weapons they really existed for long enough they can't be garbage...
@@acgearsandarms1343 that.......isnt a positive XD that would be extremely bad. the bone would grow back, but the adamantium wouldnt, cause it isnt a part of his body, its just a metal casing. so if he cut it off, thats it, he permanently has 1 less metal claw. so no......thats really really really reeeeeeeeeeeeally bad lol
@@scorpionlord9175 funny part about that, in at least one of the comic universes, his body adapts to the adamantium to the point of being able to regenerate that as well. Because of... reasons. I don't know, comics aren't known for making too much sense.
Captain America's shield is actually made from a Vibranium/proto-Adamantium alloy. It's not just Vibranium. Vibranium gives the shield its unique physical properties, like absorbing kinetic energy and redirecting its own kinetic energy without losing momentum, such as when it ricochets around the way it does. But the shield's indestructibility comes from the proto-Adamantium, which was the original formula for Adamantium that was lost, and later replaced by modern Adamantium which Ultron and Wolverine's skeleton are composed of.
@@chuck-dee No, it can't be just Vibranium in the comics because that would retcon over 50 years of continuity. They may have felt the need to do that in the MCU because of Fox owning the film rights to X-Men, but there's no need to do that anymore now that Marvel and Disney own X-Men again. If the shield were just Vibranium, it wouldn't be indestructible.
a polearm is just better than a shield in terms of pure offense. A shield can make an effective melee weapon, but you have to get in very close, whereas a polearm gives you a lot of reach. Shields can also be rather heavy depending on what they're made of. I love my shields but I get why he put it in A tier as a standalone weapon
6:54 sigle edge swords are better than double edged. The reason is You can give them more meat more heft to cut without increasing mass to the point of being unwieldy. Many wars proved this
Very nice list, glad to see sokka's boomerang on par w the classic like *stick*, always seemed like a convenient weapon and even in the show it used as an ice pick and I think even a grappling hook a few times
I think that Wolverine's claws should be welded onto a pair of bracers. Pure plain and simple. Additionally, if you wanted to figure out how to functionally and practically fuse them with the hidden blade tech, doing so while welded onto a pair of bracers would make that task easier.
Honestly, the practical version of the wolverine claws are probably the Baraka claws from mortal kombat. A 3-blade weapon is definitly redundant unless you're spearing fish lol also the blade should be attached to the arms, not the hand.
There's one thing you said that I feel like I kind of disagree with. The whole purpose behind single edged blades over double-edged blades is that they are designed to be more effective cutters since they no longer have to worry about stopping you lose some utility but gain massive cutting power
Hey Tyranth! I loved this video! I wasn't even aware of the Caestus video. I'll have to go back and watch it. I wonder if it would help the channel if you did videos discussing a theoretical weapon and how one might replicate it IRL, and setting a like goal for that 1st video to actually make a follow up video actually building and testing the weapon. This would do a couple things: a. boost the channel through extra interactions so more people join b. build up hype for the buiding/testing video which will help boost the 2nd video when it is finally released. c. give you a barometer to determine audience interest in a particular weapon relative to other weapons. d. basically doubles the video content you are able to produce on this channel which boosts your "consistency" in the algorithm I think this would almost definitely help you do more projects like this, which I definitely would like to see more of. Great video man. Take care.
the hidden blade is 1. under my states 6inch concealed blade leagal limit 2. you cand just wear it under your sleeves in your day to day 3. it was never meant for combat
In shadiversity channel in addition to mechanical function as a weapon, they theorized on how it would actually be used to maximum effectiviness in assasinations. The functionality was still very limited.
1. Erm... Is Layla Hassan from your state? Are any of the Assassin's Creed games based on your state laws? I'm not following the relevance of your local laws as they pertain to the effectiveness of a weapon from a video game. 2. The hidden blade is always worn on your wrist. It's an assassin thing in the game series. 3. Accurate. They are meant for quick assassinations. Stab and run until the AI forgets where you are. They are used for combat fairly often in the games though.
I think hidden blade has 2 main issues. The biggest problem would probably be not slicing your fingers up, a problem that can be alleviated by having the blade on top of your wrist instead of under like Eivor did in AC Valhalla (though that can lead to having less blade length). The other issue with it would be malfunctions. You could run into issues with it not ejecting properly, snagging on something, not retracting properly, or it ejecting when you don't want it to. All would be pretty big problems during an assassination attempt
General rule with fantasy weapons: If you can't find something similar to the design in history, that means it was forgotten, so it was most likely ineffective or greatly outshined by other weapons of that era. For a lot of these, context is important. For instance: If your opponent is wearing plate armor, all of the throwing weapons are almost useless. The only context where Thor's hammer is remotely a good choice is if you are armored and you have a shield. Without these, your opponent is just gonna kill you before you can get close. In the context of the fantasy settings they're designed for, they're awesome tho.
You Wolverine's entire skeleton is encased in adamantium, and he has a healing factor. He's not breaking any bones when he uses the claws, and any tendon/ligament damage he might do to his wrists when using them heals immediately, and since things get stronger when they heal, I'm pretty sure his wrists are accustomed to using them. So for anyone else, the claws might be a C or D, but to Wolvie, it's at least an A.
@geoffwaldon I do think we should consider that Wolverine's special traits and abilities really make Him better and not necessarily the weapons. Wolverine with a better weapon than the claws would demonstrate the claws are more just better if you aren't armed better
@@jacksonhorrocks4281 The honest reality is the claws were never chosen for their pragmatic use in combat. They're for flavor. Rule of cool. The adamantium skeleton on the other hand, that's damn useful.
Superman can fight planet level threats and win with his bare fists so does that mean his fists are an S+ tier weapon? No, because Superman can do that because he has superhuman abilities that allow him to fight barehanded so well he doesn't need a weapon. In reality bare fists are an F tier weapon for any real human, you'll take pretty much anything else if that's an opportunity
As good as the bladed boomerang may be, there's a couple factors I think really bring it down one tier. A: it would be a difficult weapon to master, given you can cut yourself in half while practicing with it before having an expertise. 2) after you throw this at someone, that one time you miss, what are they going to do? Run away, or charge you, if they are a trained warrior as well, and charge at you, you are now evading their attack, AND you have a giant spinning death blade coming right back to you!
Wolverine fan here. Not disappointed at all. Wolverine's claws won't work unless they're supported and stabilized. Wolverine has an Adamantium skeleton that makes his wrists lock when his claws slid out, partnered with his fast healing capability, it all works to make his claws a formidable weapon. In real life, they have to be included in a gauntlet that's supported by the lower arm, in order to not move when making contact with the target. I'm going to go through and watch your videos, they look interesting and you seem like a down to earth person who's willing to put in the work to properly test things out...
The Cap shield could probably reach S tier if one had some titanium kicking around. That should allow it to be light enough to carry while still possibly stopping pew pews.
Understandable ratings, surprised you didn't mention your previous scoring for them, it would be cool to see that in comparison. The B rating is definitely for the cool weapons with lots of potential, but there is a catch to overcome.
Other people have done Krull's weapon and it always comes out surprisingly well. The part where you threw the billy club at the target's head and then caught it was hard as fuck.
Big huge fan thanks for the video, im going to be honest with you, im a weapons expert/smith of 23 years now, but ive never seen a more enlightened and honest rating of some of the more known iconic weaponry that's ever been made in pop culture or reality. Good job son.
14:58 - I mean, yeah, I think it’s also fitting to the lore that Mjolnir could use a longer handle since that was literally its canonical weakness holding it back from perfection lol.
That kiranachi sword is meant to swing and pull so as to tear. Hence the teeth. Zeus's volt is also made of electricity and when thrown it's fast as light. Wolverines claws don't really bend when they stab due to its hardness and how far the base is in his hand. The only reason the krall glaive isn't S is because we can not manipulate it like in the movie. The hidden blade isn't meant for melee combat, it is meant for quick sudden strikes in assassinations ( generally soft flesh body areas like the neck/throat, belly or kidney, these type areas.
Hey Tyranth, since you like Cap's shield and the blades of chaos I would recommend you try to make the diskarmor from Rygar. It's basically a shield attached to the arm via chains.
I can try to find the video, but I recently saw a video of someone who made a pretty cool flaming sword. It used a form of 3d printed metal for the blade that adds a bunch of tiny holes that he was able to pump gas through (not gasoline but I forgot which one he chose) and the blade stayed effective even after he used it quite a bit. The downside was him having to have it hooked up to a fuel source and having to light it with a lighter, but it was super neat to see
non-fanboy here (military historian), and it's lots of fun reading the comments and watching heads explode - disappointed that you didnt do that ridiculous klingon thing, i would have loved hearing the trekkie 'lore' meltdowns
I just found this channel and it’s amazing needless to say I have a lot of catching up to do but for what it’s worth you have a new subscriber. Cheers m8
@@ScreenTested Am surprised by the fire sword since you have it a B (Mjölnir lost due to its name no doubt). It looks epic and could work well in a sci-fi/ fantasy world though.
For arlongs sword, I mean, it's scary enough you don't need to fight. If a 7 ft+ bullet proof body builder has an enormous saw, most people aren't challenging that
I'd like to see a possible revisit to the dire flail. While I don't think it will ever be S-tier, I think a design where it isn't basically just a pair of spiked balls on either end of a pole could be worth theorizing. Where it was actually a hollow metal tube with a single continuous chain that could slide freely back and forth. Possibly with a handgrip stop or wedge to hold it in place. Normally the flails would be at their normal chain distance, but when the stop or grip is released, and the flail is swung the chain slides, pulling one end up against the shaft, like a mace, and the other, swinging end extending out, an equal distance, generating more force on the swing and possibly surprising an opponent who didn't expect the extra 8 to 10 inches of chain. Then swing the mace end and let the chain slip to reset it or club them.
im not sure why you have an issue with throwing weapons as a catagory of weapon.. its downsides of "throwing away a weapon" is the same downsides as any projectile weapon "using ammo".. once you throw/shoot all of the weapon('s ammo) you're out of a weapon.. its why you should always have some kind of melee weapon.
@@Jacky_boy001 thats not a problem.. just dont be stupid and throw a melee weapon. also dont be stupid and go into battle with just a throwing weapon.. (and if all else fails, dont throw your last weapon) a throwing weapon is not a melee weapon.. it can be used melee (much like you can stab a target with an arrow), but its meant to be thrown. hence having an actual melee weapon (like Blade having a sword along with his throwing knife/glaive thing).. throwing knives and ninja stars were always paired with a sword or other dedicated melee weapon..
@@Jacky_boy001 I understand what you're thinking but I agree with @darcraven01 If you have three arrows and you shoot them, they're gone.. you could hold on to an arrow and have a stabbing weapon. So, If you had three pilum or 3 arrows, what's the difference ? Once they're gone they're gone. At least with a spear maybe you can retrieve it after it's been thrown, arrows are less likely they can break easily or be otherwise lost.
No they are not the same a throwing weapon dosnt have the range , ammo , costs , weight or even accuracy as arrows or Bullets they are not the same at all 👍🏼
As a Yank who does own guns, I’d say the issue there is ammo is much more compact and light than a throwing weapon. The gun can be heavy, but individual ammo is always lighter so you can carry a lot more of it before running out. My daily carry pistol has 15+1 rounds of .45ACP before I run out. Typical cop loadout is 52 rounds of 9mm for their service pistol. And a soldier in the US Army would typically carry 7 magazines with 30 rounds each for their service rifle, totaling 210 rounds. That’s a lot more extras to throw than a single blade, or even a few.
I thought the hidden blade in AC III was detachable. When Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor) engages in combat he would remove one from his wrist and use it as a regular knife whilst leaving the other attached to be used as normally or have that hand free to counter or use with the Tomahawk so it has versatility and can be used in high combat scenarios, seamlessly in conjunction with other weapons and in stealth it excels. The oldest Hidden Blade in use is over 2450 years old and it still having use within the modern day has to count for something.
In a fantasy setting, a fire sword is really neat. But in the real world, I'd put the fire sword even lower to C or D. The fire not only isn't enhancing enough of the sword's strong points tk risk damaging it in the long run, but it's effectiveness is highly dependent on the environmental conditions it's used in and what it's used on.
I find it interesting where you took your example of the Wolvy claws from the movie design. That would certainly give some real world strength, although with the comic material, they could be molecular thin, and that would give them amazing cutting. Also, the spread is movie. Many of the comics show them aligned. I’d LOVE to see the different styles portrayed throughout lore tested.
The Wolverine claws they modified. Plus they are adamantium which they don’t bend like that. Also he has the adamantium built into guide to not cause issues. Not being hard but you have to put on how they are used better. There’s an anatomy on Wolverine where it shows how it works.
i want you to analyze every slasher weapons for a halloween episode. please don't be afraid to take more than one weapons per slasher if needed to make it interesting
I wonder if Zeus' lightning bolt would work better being thrown like a no spin knife throw, rather than a javelin. You've got one third of it to hold onto to guide the trajectory path, but it looks like it's a bit bloody heavy to do that. I've thrown some bigger things, but it looks like it might be too bulky. You never know.
1:27 Captain America’s shield is made from proto-adamantium in the comics. Vibranium is just 1 ingredient in it. It is Far more durable than vibranium.
1:46 No. The caveat is twofold: 1) You are not a super-soldier so cannot throw with enough force to cross a realistic distance and do harm. 2) You have lost both your offense and defense at the outset of the fight and you are now dead.
Sir, your evaluations and ranking seem quite good and quite fair, but there is a class of weapon that I wish you'd have also evaluated, namely the two-handed axe/war hammer hybrid. The two (possibly three) examples that I can think of were Stormbreaker from the MCU, "Ultimate" Mjolnir from Marvel Comics, and possibly Dramborleg from JRR Tolkien's writings. (I don't think that Professor Tolkien described the weapon in detail, but apparently Dramborleg means "...thudder sharp..." which sounds a lot like this class.) Admittedly, Stormbreaker was ridiculously large - a hardened-steel version would probably weigh 25 kg or more - but a well-balanced single blade with a hammer on the opposite side, with a good, two-handed handle for leverage and control, sounds very useful. I'd dare to say, "...ideal for home defense..."
I made a set of Wolverine Claws in the late 90's. My first test was stupidly against a small sapling in the woods. Yep. Fractured wrist confirmed. I then made a set where the blades came down to my elbow and they were welded to a metal block so the force was absorbed by my forearm. Kind of like having 3 wakizashi's on your arm. That worked better but it still had it's problems. Seeing this makes me want to revisit the idea and try again!
To be fair wolverine claws extend to his forearms and when he retracts them his wrists are supported by the blades/claws closing off the up and down bending of his wrist
I just clicked on this video to see how good Sokka's boomerang was, and I was pleasantly surprised! I've always been skeptical of its shape actually being good for functionality, but I am so happy to learn how effective it is!
Keep in mind with Cap's shield; he's got peak intelligence = he's really, REALLY good at Triganomitry. Like with Cyclops, he would be able to do the calculations in head during battle that regular people wouldn't bother with. There's also the fact it's nigh indestructible. (which was a fair concern in medieval times - that I mention given your style of dress) It would be as good as a blade if properly thrown - which is also a point the comics don't touch on. Now as far as materials we actually have - it's probably down to just a regular shield bash. Even if you make it with our strongest metal alloy, it might not hold up against a couple of well aimed "cop killers." The only other one I can see directly in the list that might have a similar problem is Krull's. Though I'm not sure what the one right beside that actually is. The rest of them are either elemental, blunt of bladed weapons. All of which are very effective in combat. Blunt is especially good for heavy armor. We still haven't got a proper way to negate the impact of blunt force trauma entirely. (Where's a suit of Vibranium when you need one?) ** Caveat to Cap's shield for Offense = he makes it come back to him. He's also got enough "peak" human ability to be nudged to Superhuman... so he doesn't necessarily NEED it for the defensive ability it has (if you throw it for offense; you don't have it for defense - it was always the problem with thrown hatchets for example. You can only carry so many, and if you miss you are screwed) * That one sword/spear looking thing with way too many hooked/cut out parts might be a bit iffy though. Without more actual metal to the blade, you do risk it shattering in the middle of combat. (I know you're not supposed to block with the blade; but his opponent's going to do their best to break the damned thing just because it looks weak enough in some places that it might be easily managed - and without a weapon, you're a lot easier to take down. Put it against Thor's hammer for example, or a good axe, and the guy wielding it might be just a wee bit fucked) I'm not going to amend for every weapon here, but the Hidden Weapon was in fact a conceit of the game it comes from. It's not meant to do more than ONE attack with. When you know exactly where you want to hit, and how to make it LETHAL. I'll agree to the problems of the mechanisms involved - and most assassins of the era would've just put a blade in their boot or under their bracer (which is how we got the grip by the wrist instead of the handshake - to check for such weapons, just in case) you're not wrong that it would've been a solid blade instead. I think Ubisoft just did it that way to seem cool. Rather than practical. (Wolverine's claws are retractable as well, so the same point exists for his weapons, and really only carries off due to his mutant healing factor)
Regarding Mjölnir, it's worth noting that it's two steps removed from a real-world functioning weapon. The version in mythology is described as being a well-made indestructible war-hammer with a handle that's too short to grip properly with both hands due to Loki's sabotage, but also being small enough that Thor can carry it in his shirt. The Marvel version is further modified to look big and intimidating. Also, there's an arbitrary morality constraint placed on the Marvel version to even lift it, which should make it an instant F tier.
I can see why the fire sword can't get higher than a B, but it is really cool. I was wondering if you had also thought about the potentiality blinding your opponent using the fire and going in for grappling or achieve an effect where it is hard to tell where the sword is coming from because the fire can be spread over a persons vision (especially at night, like how a lightsaber has an blur stream effect).
One day, compare Daredevil drumsticks to Nightwings'. I think they're longer and usually have a tazer on them. I wouldn't expect irl tazer to be used due to cost.
I agree with your ratings. The spinning blade weapon, I could imagine using against warriors on horseback. Very devastating if it could spin under it’s own power.
The only one I question is the cestus, I would have thought A tier, I'm pretty sure in the video you said they were heavy to use. Granted the weight adds to potential damage but it wears you down quickly too
Fun fact: Wolverine's claws weren't always apart of his body, in the old comics they were seperate retractable blades attached to the back of his forearms.
I'm a fan of throwing weapons the only issue I have with him is you don't have them after that so you have to make sure you have plenty or enough of them to get through what you need to get through and then as you go through to the next area retrieve them restock but I do think they're kind of handy because what enemy really thinks you're going to throw your weapon at them so it's also kind of a surprise attack because yeah
For Caps shield You can't use vibranium but you could develop your own custom alloy.....i would recommend a steel, tungston, and carbon fiber particulate mix......i wonder if you could kinda make it like a katana.....with a high carbon and a low carbon steel.....if you just 3D printed the 2 metals to be interlaced like the threads in a textile....then polish and coast with a super low friction polymer or silicone based substance
I would be curious how you would rate them with their fantasy aspects added in. Yes, I know. This is purely the physical side. Still would be curious about their fantasy side. Zeus’ bolt, for example and its lightning aspect. The glaive and its rapid spin and control side. Etc…
In defense of Blade's throwing blade it does act as a boomerang in the comics/movie but even in RL if you don't throw it just right it won't come back to you and no one is going to throw it exactly the same every time so B-tier is appropriate for it
I have to go lower with the flame sword, and that's because of the unique danger to the wielder. Yes, every weapon has inherent dangers to the person wielding it, some more than others, but few other melee weapons have the potential to set their wielder on fire.
I thought the fist gloves looked like something I would actually consider buying. Punching something that hard without pain. A bit better refined, like covering the metal framework with leather to remove something the opponent can grab. Plus you csn just toss them inside of a small bag to carry. "Tyranth's fists of death"
Well, there is a variation of the Wolverine Claws that made me wonder, if it is different in usefulness. It's known as the Freddy Krueger claw. Granted it is usually used only on one hand.
Looking forward to the day when you'll have tested like a hundred weapons, and we get them all ranked! I think showing a score comparison on the T.I.T.S. scale could be fun for future eps.
The problem with a Cap shield that obeys the laws of physics, is it works great as defense and offense... until you throw it. Then it's just gone. And you are running from the kids that were picking on you. A full-grown adult running from kids...
To fairly & realistically assess a weapon made of a fantasy super metal, you probably have to make & test it with multiple materials and take the best results for each.
Alot of comments so should clarify.... thought it went without saying Just because you CAN throw Caps shield and Thor's hammer that doesn't make them Throwing weapons, They are Both still Literally a SHIELD and HAMMER Functional items without the throwing part. Thanks for watching guys
That's a flaming sword not a fire sword.

I would only argue against placing the Daredevil stick as high on the list otherwise 100% agreed 👍🏽

People can't figure out why boys and men love finding sticks in the woods
And stones may break my bones
I came here to make this exact comment hahaha.
Sticks Reign Supreme!
I am impressed my personal rankings were all but one identical. (The folding saw thing I ranked one tier lower)
I like that he is grading weapons he made at least
Hey Tyranth man. You said the Wolverine claws could use some tweeking to make them better. That could be a cool concept for your channel, making upgrades to flawed weapons to make them more functional. Enjoying the content man. Rock on!
Well the Upgrade with Wolfy claws in particular would be kinda obvious. Instead of Wolverine Claw's you switch over to Wolverine Claw.
@@donalddickerson206isn’t that just a normal ninja claw at that point?
@@donalddickerson206I was thinking that. If you look at power claws from WH40k that’s how they attach them.
Aussie puts the boomerang in S tier. Never could have seen that one coming...
Sokka would be happy with that one.
And if needed, he can break them off in some situations and they work easily as well as throwing knives.
@@acgearsandarms1343 that.......isnt a positive XD
that would be extremely bad. the bone would grow back, but the adamantium wouldnt, cause it isnt a part of his body, its just a metal casing. so if he cut it off, thats it, he permanently has 1 less metal claw.
so no......thats really really really reeeeeeeeeeeeally bad lol
@@scorpionlord9175 Big “if” in that case.
@@scorpionlord9175 funny part about that, in at least one of the comic universes, his body adapts to the adamantium to the point of being able to regenerate that as well. Because of... reasons. I don't know, comics aren't known for making too much sense.
Of course monkey stick is s tier.... IT'S A BIG STICK!
In his epic, Sun Wukong tried out all kinds of weapons, but none were good enough for him... until he came upon the Ruyi Bang.
The translation of Journey to the West I read described Monkey's weapon as an iron cudgel.
"Why have a single edge?" I feel like there is an idiom about this...
That was true originally, but they changed it later, even in the comics, to just be Vibranium
Well Thanos destroyed it on two occasions
I bet you even know what issue they mentioned that in, you damn nerd. I actually knew that too because I am also a giant f****** nerd.
@@mikebowler4499 Thanos has plot armor thicker than Batman's.
The Glaive from Krull rating really did surprise me, i expected less for sure.
Can’t believe you gave a pole arm S tier, but didn’t give a literal shield S tier.
I mean he said it depends on the material and even in modern times a blunt object can beat a shield if you're strong enough
a polearm is just better than a shield in terms of pure offense. A shield can make an effective melee weapon, but you have to get in very close, whereas a polearm gives you a lot of reach. Shields can also be rather heavy depending on what they're made of. I love my shields but I get why he put it in A tier as a standalone weapon
We appreciate you putting in the effort to create all these marvellous monstrosities - most tubers just sit in front of a camera. 💪
6:54 sigle edge swords are better than double edged. The reason is You can give them more meat more heft to cut without increasing mass to the point of being unwieldy. Many wars proved this
11:32 catching that on the rebound was just epic! Also bonk stick supremacy!
Very nice list, glad to see sokka's boomerang on par w the classic like *stick*, always seemed like a convenient weapon and even in the show it used as an ice pick and I think even a grappling hook a few times
The fists need to come down to A tier since they lack so much reach of other S weapons.
I think that Wolverine's claws should be welded onto a pair of bracers. Pure plain and simple. Additionally, if you wanted to figure out how to functionally and practically fuse them with the hidden blade tech, doing so while welded onto a pair of bracers would make that task easier.
The Wolverine claws exist as "tekko kagi", Sho Kosugi invented a retractable version.
Honestly, the practical version of the wolverine claws are probably the Baraka claws from mortal kombat. A 3-blade weapon is definitly redundant unless you're spearing fish lol also the blade should be attached to the arms, not the hand.
"Do they suck" is such an optimistic title. XD
5:56 Actually, in Wolverines case he has the claws attached to his forearm muscles. So the force doesn't affect his wrists like that.
Yep, that's right
There's one thing you said that I feel like I kind of disagree with.
This would do a couple things:
a. boost the channel through extra interactions so more people join
b. build up hype for the buiding/testing video which will help boost the 2nd video when it is finally released.
c. give you a barometer to determine audience interest in a particular weapon relative to other weapons.
d. basically doubles the video content you are able to produce on this channel which boosts your "consistency" in the algorithm
I think this would almost definitely help you do more projects like this, which I definitely would like to see more of. Great video man. Take care.
the hidden blade is
1. under my states 6inch concealed blade leagal limit
2. you cand just wear it under your sleeves in your day to day
3. it was never meant for combat
Exactly.
Add in enhanced strength and enhanced reflexes and you get a seriously winning combination.
@geoffwaldon
I do think we should consider that Wolverine's special traits and abilities really make Him better and not necessarily the weapons.
W bro so underrated keep it up man I enjoyed watching this
As good as the bladed boomerang may be, there's a couple factors I think really bring it down one tier.
His wrist doesn't lock when his claws are out. He can even extend them through his palm :)
I'm just looking forward to seeing what you add to that list 👍🤘
Other people have done Krull's weapon and it always comes out surprisingly well. The part where you threw the billy club at the target's head and then caught it was hard as fuck.
Groovy video…. Ratings seem pretty on point so far as I can tell.
When I saw the videos thumbnail I thought you were holding a bassoon LOL!
This was so much fun, what a fun way to spend your time. Nice job!
The downside was him having to have it hooked up to a fuel source and having to light it with a lighter, but it was super neat to see
Wolverine can get away with having impractical claws because he has super strength and can rapidly heal from any wound
Loved the recap of past videos.... but when do we get an episode on Klingon weapons?
I was looking to see if he had done Klingon weapons
non-fanboy here (military historian), and it's lots of fun reading the comments and watching heads explode - disappointed that you didnt do that ridiculous klingon thing, i would have loved hearing the trekkie 'lore' meltdowns
I quite agree with this tier list however i would put Arlong's sword on A tier since its such a beast of a weapon.
It seems too long and too top-heavy. Would be S-tier in the hand of an ubermensch like Arlong, but we don’t have those on earth.
I just found this channel and it’s amazing needless to say I have a lot of catching up to do but for what it’s worth you have a new subscriber. Cheers m8
“I can’t put a throwing weapon higher than B”

I like that Mjolnir is just “if it was made the way it was supposed to be made, it would be S. Even then, it’s still A” hammer go bonk good
revisit the tier list every ~25 weapon builds to see if new weapons push the old weapons up or down
Where a sickle weapon shines is against an opponent with a shield. The extreme curve of the sickle allows you to get in behind the opponent’s shield.
Wondering if you had to equip a few of them for combat or an adventure, which ones would be your pick to carry with you?
Mmm probably staff as main , fire sword as secondary and sokka axe as sidearm
@@ScreenTested Am surprised by the fire sword since you have it a B (Mjölnir lost due to its name no doubt).
It looks epic and could work well in a sci-fi/ fantasy world though.
For arlongs sword, I mean, it's scary enough you don't need to fight. If a 7 ft+ bullet proof body builder has an enormous saw, most people aren't challenging that
I am surprised and satisfied that the Krull Glaive got A Tier.
Thanks Tyranth.
Great ranking, a weapon I haven't seen people cover is the Infinity Blade and I would love to see your take on it.
The problem is you get one toss with a thrown melee weapon, and you mess it up or your opponent dodges. You're stuck unarmed.
@@Jacky_boy001
I understand what you're thinking but I agree with @darcraven01
If you have three arrows and you shoot them, they're gone.. you could hold on to an arrow and have a stabbing weapon.
The witch king lit his sword on fire while battling Gandalf. So awesome
There’s an anatomy on Wolverine where it shows how it works.
i want you to analyze every slasher weapons for a halloween episode. please
don't be afraid to take more than one weapons per slasher if needed to make it interesting
Dude you were winging those blades like you were the real Kratos.
GOOD FUCKING SHIT DUDE.
You ever consider voice acting sir? You have a great voice. Good video.
1:27 Captain America’s shield is made from proto-adamantium in the comics. Vibranium is just 1 ingredient in it. It is Far more durable than vibranium.
1:46
No. The caveat is twofold:
1) You are not a super-soldier so cannot throw with enough force to cross a realistic distance and do harm.
(I don't think that Professor Tolkien described the weapon in detail, but apparently Dramborleg means "...thudder sharp..." which sounds a lot like this class.)
Admittedly, Stormbreaker was ridiculously large - a hardened-steel version would probably weigh 25 kg or more - but a well-balanced single blade with a hammer on the opposite side, with a good, two-handed handle for leverage and control, sounds very useful. I'd dare to say, "...ideal for home defense..."
Short, sweet, to the point. If Shad had made this video, it would have been an hour or two with essentially the same conclusions.
To be fair wolverine claws extend to his forearms and when he retracts them his wrists are supported by the blades/claws
closing off the up and down bending of his wrist
5:40
In all fairness they're less a weapon and more a chronic medical condition.
7:15 you should also make Hidans weapon that would be freakin sick! like a triple reaping scythe !
(Where's a suit of Vibranium when you need one?)
** Caveat to Cap's shield for Offense = he makes it come back to him. He's also got enough "peak" human ability to be nudged to Superhuman... so he doesn't necessarily NEED it for the defensive ability it has (if you throw it for offense; you don't have it for defense - it was always the problem with thrown hatchets for example. You can only carry so many, and if you miss you are screwed)
* That one sword/spear looking thing with way too many hooked/cut out parts might be a bit iffy though. Put it against Thor's hammer for example, or a good axe, and the guy wielding it might be just a wee bit fucked)
I'm not going to amend for every weapon here, but the Hidden Weapon was in fact a conceit of the game it comes from.
One edged swords can work well when we think of sabres for example. They feel very wild :d
Wolverine claws on a human: D Tier
Wolverine claws attached to an adamantium wrist: S Tier
I wouldn't expect irl tazer to be used due to cost.
remember, wolverine's claws are part (extension) of his skeleton
I agree with your ratings. The spinning blade weapon, I could imagine using against warriors on horseback. Very devastating if it could spin under it’s own power.
The only one I question is the cestus, I would have thought A tier, I'm pretty sure in the video you said they were heavy to use. Granted the weight adds to potential damage but it wears you down quickly too
Fun fact: Wolverine's claws weren't always apart of his body, in the old comics they were seperate retractable blades attached to the back of his forearms.
I like the idea of making accurate IRL versions of the weapons and then after testing them, modifyimg them to be better in some way.
Fire will always do better on a club or similar blunt weapons than a sword.
I would be curious how you would rate them with their fantasy aspects added in. Yes, I know. This is purely the physical side. Still would be curious about their fantasy side. Zeus’ bolt, for example and its lightning aspect. The glaive and its rapid spin and control side. Etc…
In defense of Blade's throwing blade it does act as a boomerang in the comics/movie but even in RL if you don't throw it just right it won't come back to you and no one is going to throw it exactly the same every time so B-tier is appropriate for it
This is the best part about multiple videos. Content❤
For deaths weapons you could also try the Zande knife design that afford a lot more cutting power to the inside of the blade
Granted it is usually used only on one hand.
a fantasy weapon you may put on the next tier list .. The Fork from Grendel:Devil by the deed.
double bladed short spear. cool as eff!
Missed the Cestus video. Love me a good fisto fighto weapon. Adding your video to my watch later list (I'm about to go to work)
Looking forward to the day when you'll have tested like a hundred weapons, and we get them all ranked!
I think showing a score comparison on the T.I.T.S. scale could be fun for future eps.
S tier needs to be renamed "the T.I.T.S".
@@Isaac-YLYL if you go that route, rather rename all tiers to A, B, C, D, and DD
@@theoboangiu7950 But wouldn't that mean that DD should be the highest score?
@@tabull8180 yes, yes it would. It'd be in reverse order.
Ooh. New video. Keep it up man. May the algorythm favor you.
