@@billwilson1225 admittedly it does feel a bit light on the miniatures. Id have liked a few more guards sculpted like the outdoor soldiers and maybe some sculped door tokens but to be fair the game gives you enough for what you need. I suspect the price is due to mgs being popular and so likely was quite a costly IP license.
They should do a big MGS2 expansion for this, and a bigger MGS4 sequel that uses open-world mechanics to navigate the battlefield. Also, MGS3, with the PSP games as expansions, and a BIG MGS5 open-world sequel that includes a real finale, which was cut from the videogame. Now that I think of it, maybe they should do a spin-off game, unique to the franchise, where you play a whole group of new characters. Your boss could be Raiden, placed after his own spin-off game, which is placed after MGS4.
@@eldritchmorgasm4018 i hope they do make more of these but im not too hopeful with the production issues this one had. I suppose sales figures will be the decider.
@@vroy2984 thanks. I love MGS and this game is really good so i put a lot of effort into this, especially as many people are still waiting for their copy so i hope it helps them know what to expect and have an easier time learning all the rules.
Is this a copy from the pre-order directly from CMON? Or did you get an advanced review copy? I only ask because many people are still waiting for this game since the shipments have been delayed again and again, month after month, for over a year!
@ ah yea, I found another thread saying the standard edition is starting to hit stores in the UK and Australia. Welp, thanks for your video! I’ll be enjoying your work in the meantime while I wait for mine!
@@kudosbudo it sounds more complicated than it is. It depends on your level of board game experience but after the tutorial stages i found myself flying through it. Once you get your head around the guard turn and the sometimes counter intuitive Line of Sight mechanic its smooth sailing.
@@chuma391 thanks. Its mostly down to using citadel contrast paints and the quality of the detail on the figures is so good they practically paint themselves.
This is a great review. I'll be honest though, the inconsistent player count is a bit off putting for me. I am currently enjoying campaign games with friends but the idea of playing some levels but then telling friends 'OK for this one it's just one player, so you can watch' feels a bit odd. Either way, really good video, loved the paintjobs too.
@@_tensketch yeah it is a bit annoying. The best player count is 2. Stage 1 and 2 are solo but they are easy tutorials that you can learn together then each take your own character from there. Its also pretty simple so if you each want to contril 2 characters it is easy to do.
Excellent review, nice painting, looking forward to seeing more
Thanks
For the price, I'd expect more minis of characters like Mei Ling and Campell.

Mine still haven't arrived.
Mine either, but I hope it will in the coming months.
Do you know how big the miniature are? 28mm 32mm?
@@SenetTheSnek it doesnt give an exact scale but id say excluding the base they are about 35 to 40mm to the top of the head.
Good explanation of the game

Codec Book not immersive enough, eh? Feels like G.W. is up to its old tricks again. 💀
Haha. I was really scraping the barrel for things to put in the ugly section for this review as everything is so well made.

@@vincentj.9057 its not a review copy mate its the retail edition. It seems the backers have been proper shafted on this.

when is this game coming out.

I looked into it. Comes out on January 9th

its erm... very complicated sounding. I'm interested cos of execution force, similar game but... way more streamlined.
