    One of my favorite Taylor quotes ever is “people greatly underestimate me on how much I’ll inconvenience myself to prove a point if I think that I’m right.” And while she didn’t really inconvenience herself with this song she absolutely went out of her way to ensure she made a very annoying song on purpose to irritate her ex forever with. And I aspire to be that level.

    She has said in interviews that she wrote the most sing-songy, pop, top 40 song possible about Jake Gyllenhaal, because he *HATES* pop music, and she knew a pop, top 40 song would be played everywhere, all the time. He would never escape it, and the lyrics are so obviously about him that everyone would know. I live for Petty Taylor. A true Sagittarius queen!

    I seriously laughed out loud here. It's so pure watching you "getting it". The annoying pop girl radio versions are what were selling to broadcast at the time. She's a genius at marketing. And she has a crazy head for musical adaption. She could probably sit down and produce the same song in 8 different styles in two hours of she wanted to.

When people just give an honest opinion about whether they like a song of hers it's really not a big deal bc music taste is completely subjective and it's not expected that everybody like everything.

    I have followed your evolution from start to the newest reactions of Taylor Swift, and I have enjoyed ever second of it!! Your app is more than half filled out to be a bonafide Swifty, you have one foot all the in and the other is on a banana peel!, 😂👏🙌❤️
    I remember the first reaction of hers and you’re like, “Imma shut it off right away if I don’t like it”. Taylor did her vocal black magic and now you’re defending her in the gym 😂😂😂 I LOVE it!! I heard her songs here and there on the radio when she was starting out and I was kind of indifferent, I didn’t like them but, I didn’t hate them either.
    I don’t hate country music, I just don’t listen closely. When people started freaking out because she wanted to explore multiple genres, it piqued my interest of what it would sound like. 1989 was released and needless to say, she is my favorite celebrity across all mediums. I even paid $450 for a concert ticket for The Eras Tour because seeing her live during Reputation Stadium Tour was hands down, thee best concert of my life!! I love seeing people come into this awakening of realizing just how talented she is, there really is something for everyone (except screamo) 😅❤️

    I’m trying to come up with another good live one for you that you may like. Out of the Woods Live 1989 World Tour is kinda iconic. If you want something a bit different, she does have a jazzy number from 2019 called False God that she performed on SNL, it’s a slow saxophone jazzy thing, unlike anything else in her catalog. We recently learned in the Times article that Taylor was stifled a lot at her previous label. This was on the Red album which they were still trying to keep it “country.” So while she maybe wanted to be more experimental she had to compromise with what she was allowed to put on her albums. I think she had more freedom when it came to the tour.

  • @khills
    @khills 8 месяцев назад +1

    Well, you can be a Swiftie without liking all of her music - her first couple of albums aren’t really my cuppa, but at this point, her catalogue is so broad it’s fine to say “eh, that song’s not for me.” (That said, this one is supposed to be annoying, sooo… 😂) I’m sure folks have told you to watch Miss Americana, and you should. I think you’ll have a lot more respect for her - especially when she talks about performing this tour while experiencing disordered eating. 😢 Miss Americana was filmed around the Reputation tour, and she’s doing MUCH better there and can talk about it… and it adds another layer to her acrimonious relationship with the media.

    First I want to say I love your reactions. And how respectful you are even if the song/or performance isn't one that connects with you. Love that. Second, I had NEVER thought how this version really gives Queen vibes. But you're so right!! Thanks for giving Taylor a chance to change your mind. 😁

    You gotta do Marjorie since you lost your grandmother and so did Taylor, she wrote this tribute for her and even put her grandmother singing opera on it, its a different vibe to this obviously but l think it'll move you and see another side of Taylor. Then do Ronin.

    Watch Miss Americana,,,,it shows Taylor from being the nice girl trying to please everyone to being her own person and standing up for what’s right.

    I'm with you on this one. This song was one I definitely got tired of hearing on the radio back when it was first released. Her live performance here made it more attractive though.

    I remember you once said Brittany spears was better than taylor swift. ( in your comparison of TS and Beyonce)
    Do you still feel this way? Or do you now believe TS has actually had iconic moments and is far better than you suggested on "hear me out"

    Awe man. I really enjoyed your videos until you just said “she moves on fast, Kelce better watch out”. How did you get all that from one song? You know nothing about her. That wasn’t cool. To be fair, I chewed my own husband out about the same subject about 6 months ago and we have been together for 30 years. The media has a narrative that sells clicks. The truth is irrelevant to them. No disrespect, but like I told my husband, be better. ❤

    No one gets upset by objective critique even if it’s a personal taste. What gets fans upset is the misogyny and smearing…. They almost canceled her, that’s why fans are protective

    We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is great song, it´s unserious and fun. This song was about Jake Gyllengaal and he hates pop music, Taylor said she purposely made this song as poppy and catchy and annoying as possible so he would hear it all the time on the radio which happened.
