Do you know why you don't stan the og version? Is not accidental, that's song was as poppy as she could be bc the guy that song is dedicated to hates pop music soo much and never treated her as a true artist because his "jam" is indie music so she wanted this single to be on the radio 24/7 365 . Yeah it's a punishment and I'm living for it!! This version is really dope tho
This was in 2015 during 1989 Tour. She performed rock versions of I Knew You Were Trouble and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. She absolutely killed it, since then Swifties are begging her for rock album. There are some skeptics that think rock might not fit her because her songwriting would get little lost or she couldn't handle it vocally but i think that there wouldn't be any problem for her. Taylor is the best songwriter of this generation, she can change her songwriting to fit any vibe and even though Taylor is not the absolute best vocalist of all time, she's pretty good singer and if she wanted she could pull it off. I hope that TS11 is rock album, it's everything i need.
There’s a rumor she already made a rock album it was supposed to be called karma but some people think her record label wanted her to release reputation instead, which is cool because it’s a great album aesthetically and musically. But a rock album would have been such a better comeback.
Watch her SUBLIME performance of Wildest Dreams on electric guitar in her Grammy Museum performance. It will take your breath away. If you can go to the show you absolutely have to, there is nothing else like it! Even nosebleed seats are still good at her concerts
This version is on fire! Thank you for reacting to it, Please do react all of her live performance in her 1989 world tour where she show off her versatility and her vocals is so powerful.
I think taylor can change the genre of her songs whenever she wants cause she is the one who writes them in conventional instruments and that is what a real musician should be able to do. She is beyond talented and a good performer!
I love this song for it's attitude. Taylor has great tone and playfulness in her delivery of this song and it's fun and angsty and relatable. I think it makes so much sense to translate this song to rock because it already was all about the attitude. We're just dialing it up a notch.
Yes, We need rock Taylor! I am going to Tampa! I honestly think that resale prices will significantly drop once it gets closer. Hope you get tickets, she's amazing live!
I hope you get tickets! I got floor VIP seats for Houston. I'm so excited, it's my first time seeing her!! I think this performance was 10 years ago now. I would freaking love it if she did a rock album! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
1. Taylor has always been very creative with her music. We've seen versions of her songs in a behind the scenes when she's creating them. It's raw. Which is why I like listening to her demos. It's the spark of the early beginnings of a great rock song. Like for instance for "King of my Heart" she showed us a small clip of her playing it on guitar with some reverb I believe and I totally loved it. Personally, I would've loved it in that version as opposed to the studio version. Heck, I also wouldn't mind if she released it as an instrumental version. 2. After seeing her creative process and clips of her tours/concerts, Taylor can totally pull off a rock album. I want heavy metal, punk, emo, grunge, melodic, etc. All kinds of rock from her. Heck, even in her song "Closure" I wasn't the only one hearing a hint of Nine Inch Nails on that song. I'd like to hear something along the lines of Tool/A Perfect Circle, Pearl Jam, Godsmack, Belmont, Dayseeker, Bilmuri, The Used, Coheed and Cambria. 3. What I would like to know is if any Swifties out there listened to the Taylor and Tool mashup of this song but with Tool's song "Stinkfist"? I can understand what the person was thinking of when they mashed up these two artist's songs. 4. Suffi, I hope you get tickets to watch her live and get that experience. I think it will blow your mind. I've never seen her live and from the tours I've seen online, they look like a freaking awesome experience. I'm gonna wish you good luck in case you do think of going🤞.
I'm dam sure the Swifties would love a Taylor rock album...I'm one and I would...Taylor would knock the roof off wherever she was...You can see it's in her...Do it for us at some point..a Taylor Rock album....It would knock the socks off Midnights...and we all know how mega that is....Rock on Taylor 🎸🎸🎸🎸
I know this is 8months later, I'm hoping you went to the concert. I'm from the most northern town in the US (Barrow, AK) and I traveled over 4,200 miles to catch the Era's Tour in Mexico City (not including the extra 1200miles it took me to travel home from work then leaving home the next day to Mexico).
I'm going to the tampa concert, it will be my first time seeing taylor so i'm extremely excited! those crazy $300+ prices are all from resellers but they should go down a lot closer to the concert date! some people have good luck getting tickets the week of the concert.
She has a song off the Speak Now album called "Haunted" that I'd definitely classify as a rock song, if you can squeeze it in your schedule you should react to it! It's kind of a Paramore rock sound. Honestly Speak Now as an album is one of the tops for sure, there are a few songs that sound more rock then anything. I agree she's been toying with the sound for years, I can bet she'll come out with a pure rock album one day.
Some ppl think her next release might be a rock album. Especially bc the studio shes been seen at in between shows is known for producing a lot of prominent/iconic rock albums. Plus she's an emo kid.
I'm excited to see you react to this. I'm going to her Kansas City show in July and can't wait! I saw her in St Louis for her Reputation Stadium Tour and it was absolutely the best concert experience I've been to. She really goes all out for her shows. I'm so excited!
Taylor doing a rock album would be a dream come true for a lot of fans. She can be gritty in her vocals when she wants to. Subtle teaser: ruclips.net/video/zg0MEUqREwA/видео.html Maybe TS11 will be her new rock era. lol
Taylor is one of those people who, when she's being her authentic self, is a giant fucking cornball. There's something so funny about her playing the Rockstar role, but the extent to which she commits to the character is so commendable! When she takes on the timbre and really fries the vocals, it actually kicks ass. I think, if she decided to fully embody that style for an entire album (or maybe just a short concert series or something like that; 6 cities, 2 nights each, released later that year to streaming), it would be phenomenal. I don't think there's a lot of genres that she couldn't successfully transform her music into. Rock, Dance, Funk... I'd love to see her paired up with an orchestra for some big symphonic arrangements. Her strength is her songwriting, and because of the way her songs are written, she can shift them to other genres losslessly.
Inside of Taylor there’s a rock star deep down Ik it, she just knows how to market herself to people who like pop. It gets her $ and a lot of streams, if she did a rock album it would be so iconic idk if anyone could handle it tbh there’s a rumor she recorded a rock album called karma but her record label didn’t want her to release it.
there's been a theory amongst swifties that she was going to release a rock album entitled "Karma" after her 1989 era. She had been doing rock performances like this one and I Knew You Were Trouble, probably to hint at the upcoming rock era. But then all the drama happened to Kimye and the world canceled her, so she disappeared and it became the 'lost album'.
I'm beggin' she does a rock album at some point. Not only would it be a killer, but also it would help us rock guys not feel so awkward anymore likeing some of her stuff. So, please Taylor, just do it, you could almost double your fanbase with it.
Tampa is the closest to me and I was just checking ticket prices and yes I found the cheapest tickets at 320 dollars, so I dk if I will by them yet, but I might.
Man, i want a jazz album from her more than the rock one just because of the song "False God" from lover. The unholy feelings i get everytime i listen to this song is just.... 😅
i THINK she chose specifically this one cause she made this original song annoying on purpose (to annoy her ex). So its not just that you don't like it, in a way she doesn't like it either. She went "is this annoying enough? no? is this even MORE annoying? great ill go with this one then". And thats not how she usually makes her songs. Quite the opposite. So she said "ok, lets make it right now".
Another observation... I still don't enjoy some of her most pop forward songs ala 1989. A lot of thag album was sadly a grower for me. But one thing that helped me like songs more was when she played acoustic versions of her super pop songs. Like the Grammy museum performance.
I got so excited when I saw you were reacting to this! It's hilarious because what you said is exactly what I said to my husband about this version when I first heard it. The original version is the one song of hers that I've always found painfully annoying (I felt so much better when I learned that it's *supposed to be* annoying). My music roots are in rock and metal. I grew up with the classics and fell in love with the harder stuff as an early teen. My first show was Norma Jean, if that tells you anything, lol. I've thought since her Red Album that her true, natural tone was ideal for rock music. Rock celebrates the texture and character to her natural tone that pop music requires hiding (or required then, pop has definitely transformed since). Everyone praises her Reputation Era vocals, but they're so good because she lets that grit and texture shine so when she hits bigger notes, her vocal chords aren't too fatigued to reach them and maintain pitch. Her vocal struggles are 100% rooted in fatigued vocal chords. Imagine Lzzy Hale forcing a sweet pop vocal for several hours a day, every single day. Her range would shrink so fast. I've never loved Taylor's voice more than I do during the bridge in this performance and she would absolutely murder a rock album. If we never get what she had originally planned for 2016 I'll probably die of a broken heart lmao.
Oh my God that performance is etched in my mind permanently! The fireworks, the note she held, her expressions! There will be nothing as Speak Now Taylor 😻
This comment is really late but just saw your reaction!! The lyrics are supposed to be quirky, she was doing that on purpose because she was poking fun at Jake and his childish behavior. Everyone knows she is a lyrical genius so obviously this was supposed to sound sarcastic lol.... I also agree she should do a rock album or redo a few older songs in a rock version.
Suffi, would you please put some subttitles in your videos? I'm brazilian and I whatch every single video and practicing my listening and I wish could practice my reading as well. 😄 thanks!😊
Thanks for this. I hope you'll now do her "I'm A Sultry Goddess" version of I Knew You Were Trouble from the same concert. It's right here: ruclips.net/video/bO7g1vEZQiI/видео.html
you should definitely also check out her rock version of ‘i knew you were trouble’!!
One of her many best performances. She’s very versatile.
With Taylor you can count on one thing 100 percent of the time...and that is...she gives 100 percent of herself every minute
Do you know why you don't stan the og version? She growled. : )
So sad, she didn't perform this at Grammys. But you know, she was born to be the music industry. ❤️❤️🔥🎸
I've been begging for a rock album since I saw this for the first time 😭😭
Honestly she needs to release a rock album. She has an amazing rock voice. Better than her poppy voice in my opinion.
Taylor was in Sydney for the 1989 concert in 2015. A rock album would be totally cool!

I think “Punk” is the word you were searching for to describe her voice. So amazing!!! ❤
I’m so excited for speak now Taylor’s version because that has some good rock songs on it
And THEN. A rock album
She needs to do one.
Hey I liked your unbiased commentary. Cheesy lyrics turned into rock us!

If you want more powerful performance of her, Out of the woods 1989 world tour or the i knew you were trouble 1989 world tour as well
she changes up alot of her songs during concert. And she has multiple outfit changes during it.

I'm waiting for a rock album from Taylor, I think it could be the best. All the rock versions of her songs are my favourites
Yes.
It will be TS11.
I just need it, at this point.
Wouldn't surprise me if her Karma record turns out to be the rock album and she just needed more time to build it😂
