    I totally agree about her facial expressions. Part of why Taylor is so good live is because it feels like she is living in the emotions of the song every time she sings it. She fully commits to everything she does and it pays off

    I think swifties safeguard blank space until someone has heard more of taylor because it's a song everyone knows, but once you get to know taylor you can listen to it in a new light and understand the satire haha. her grammy museum performances are some of my (and most swifties') faves!!!

    See, her facial expressions are part of what made All Too Well so powerful to come across for the first time. Having you react to just the music of it took away a lot of its power. Please react to a live version of that one! The SNL performance was really good.

    • @emmavink
      @emmavink 6 месяцев назад +5

      Taylor's acting for the SNL performance of All Too Well was great.
      Her vocal performance of that song at SNL was TERRIBLE. She barely kept on key, she was flat, sharp and all over the place vocally.
      The performance she did at the All Too Well Short Film Premier was vocally excellent.

    Taylor is an epic lyrical storyteller. I watched an interview with her and she stated she wrote her songs with the ability to be stripped down to an acoustical version no matter how many additional layers she adds to a track.
    I love that she writes her own songs!

    The thing I love about Taylor... one of them... is that it's a full commit. It's the clothes, it's the hair, it's the face, it's the vocals. Small changes. Subtle. But very powerful for the overall effect.

    You've become a SwifTie my man. A casual appreciator will just enjoy the radio hits and reluctantly admit she must have something to be so successful - but a true fan knows that a big part of her charm is that she knows how to encompass a song. I first found your channel from your Morissette reactions, and I just realized you've also been checking out Taylor Swift content! the love I have for this woman and her songwriting is immeasurable. I love watching other people check out what else she's got apart from those crazy radio hits she has had. there are so many songs (majority of her music) that is better than shake it off. I say this because most people who aren't familiar with her music say it's the only song they know 😭 this is just as bad as someone saying they only know butter, dynamite, or permission to dance by BTS 😭😭😭 it actually hurts to hear that. Taylor has an incredible discography and there is something for everyone. to sum it up, those English singles don't represent the real BTS and satire songs like shake it off don't represent who Taylor is as an artist either. so many of her songs are so poetic and you really have to sit down and put your thinking cap on to understand what is going on. sorry, my rant is over haha, nothing was directly aimed at you, I just wanted to vent for a bit. looking forward to seeing what else you check out!

    She got Urie to join her for ME! It has a sound that advertisers (particularly Capital One) loved; it is very catchy, out almost 8 months before the album; so hugely overplayed at the time. It shifted from her dark aesthetic/ sound of Reputation back toward the synth-pop sound of 1989; and she was being deliberately giddy. It also introduced the Lover era pastels and rainbows that are a sort of Easter Egg for the song "You Need To Calm Down" (an anti-hater, pro GLAAD song she dropped on Donald Trump's birthday! )
    ME! is a celebration of individuality; but it was slammed by some as too "Disney" and for children. Today I heard someone call the You Need To Calm Down video "inspired by Barbie" --- even though it is 4 years older. There is a fair amount of pink and pastels, though. The video is amazing, and some of the writing and recording are in her Miss Americana documentary. It was the first single of the Lover album; it got an early mv release so she could perform it live with Urie at the BBMA's in 2019. If you check out ME!, try watching the mv first, then the BBMA live version ---- she knows how to put on a show!

    She gave a 40 minute talk about writing and producing her records -- a few minutes on the prior albums for context, then what went into 1989. She also chose some specific songs that were quite different in approach and sound, or very different in production. I'll drop the link for it below. The video has 4 live performances at the end, a bit out of order. But they left out the song introductions except for Blank Space and her piano version of Out of the Woods. Oh, expect hundreds of requests for her Wildest Dreams from that session ! The other song from the session was called "How You Get The Girl" --- she switches from the dreadnought to a smaller, brighter acoustic guitar, which she plays at such a low volume it really shows off the tone of her voice.
    Here is the link to that presentation. You won't have time for the whole thing, but maybe you'll watch it when you're rendering down a video. Performances are at the end, the presentation about songwriting and producing is about the first 40 minutes. She is an excellent speaker, as well as writer. The audience are music producers and audio engineers.

    Now you get Taylor Swift. But it's hard to explain it to others when they only want to hate her for no good reason. They have a skewed view on who they think she is.
    No joke, there was this reactor who said he still thinks and sees Taylor as 20 years old. They were shocked to know she's 34. People who didn't follow her career and just stuck with the radio hits, they didn't see her grow up and evolve. So they end up with this mentality that the media had portrayed of her in the past.
    But really, Taylor has been in the thick of it through hell and back and grown as an individual because of her adversities. And it's hard to tell people to just give her a chance and listen to her music, watch her interviews and song breakdowns to get more insight and perspective into her.
    But people still want to hate. And you won't believe how many people are out there still hating on her and making such awful comments about her to this day.
