This was in January/February 2017. It was something like a pre-SuperBowl show. Just for info Taylor was recovering from cold at the time of this performance. What´s funny about Taylor is that she always sounds good when she´s sick, probably because it makes her pay more attention to her technique while singing to make it easier for her. This was also her last appearance, she then completely disappeared until August 2017 when Reputation Era started.

Yeah the same with more difficult songs like all of the girls, afterglow, cruel summer she pays more attention and uses her technique because any of these songs are easy to sing including I don’t wanna live forever
I think her vocals are always better when it's her and a guitar. It's where she seems most comfortable. She's said that she's not a great dancer and she has to work really hard to rehearse that. And she's said that it's not her vocals that shine the most; it's her songwriting. If she doesn't have to concentrate on getting steps right she can pay better attention to the technical aspects of her vocals. And when she does pay attention to supporting her vocals she just shines. Her lyrics come through. You can just feel her comfort level on stage in those moments.
You’re taking it too literal what she said. Her voice is gorgeous and very underrated, everything she sings sounds beautiful even “three sad virgins” is a bop. She’s a Singer-Songwriter, she’s a performer, she’s a musician, that’s why she’s selling stadiums all over the globe, otherwise if she was just a songwriter she would be doing smaller things.

It's ok to say what her strengths are, what she does quite well, and what she struggles with. Her dancing is something she struggles with. There's no harm in saying that. She's said it. It frankly makes her all the more relatable. As I said, her vocals--when supported--shine. But that is something she's had to learn. When I first saw her all those many years ago she needed to learn more technique for breath control. Many people accused her of being a bad singer. She wasn't. She was just young and untrained. She had raw talent but didn't fully know how to deploy it. She writes songs that are truly lyrical masterpieces. But with all those words, it makes it difficult to find places where she can take a breath. She literally doesn't give herself breathing room. And since she's human and needs oxygen, she needs to train even harder on supporting her vocals. If you do not support your vocals with diaphragm work, endurance training, and careful placement of breaths throughout the song--you will not only run out of air and not be able to hit notes but also permanently damage your vocal cords. If you know anything about singing technique it's very clear she's made amazing strides to learn how to support her vocals in a healthy way. Putting in that work is to be applauded. It takes time and careful concentration. Especially with how dense her music is.

I watched this live stream on the eras tour.
at around the 5 min mark you are asking what the performance is. It was a performance (paid for by AT&T/DirectTV) that preceded the release of Reputation by about 8 months; it was the only live concert she did in 2017. Since she was doing Coke commercials, she couldn't do Superbowl halftime shows (Pepsi sponsored those). So AT&T (which did NOT have broadcast rights anyway) did this show the night before the big game. They even built this small performance hall for the Super Saturday Night event. If you look for the Super Saturday Night concert, there is also some behind the scenes stuff at the beginning: construction, pre-concert fan party, some rehearsal, etc. Songs are from older albums, but it is essentially the last show of the 1989 era.

See the difference between Beyonce and her is that Taylor can play live in any settings, play many instruments, she has a different voice than Beyonce but she is really good, and not so easy technically depending on the songs, just try it you’ll see.

Love seeing you react to and appreciate her acoustic sound! I know it's what everyone expects and so switifes often show people her more unexpected flashy performances and recordings but I just think the quality of her voice and emotive performance shines with just her and an instrument. She's put so much work into being able to sing and perform so well, she's always said she's a lyricist first and wouldn't sing if it weren't her writing her own music and I just appreciate the work she puts in because I fucking love her voice and ability to tell a story and captivate alone on a stage.

Musically it's more in Zayn's lane style-wise, but Taylor is fire in it...plus she co-wrote the song with Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew (looked it up), which is why it's so easy for her to switch it up and do an acoustic version.
