Just a little background: she has been writing songs since she was 12 and before her debut album she had a contract with a record label to write songs for other artists... so, before she could even be a recorded singer she was getting paid to write for other people, as a teenager. Of course it was a more innocent romantic version of her work (also because she was a teenager and hadn't liiiiiiived yet), but it was already good enough to get paid for it. The talent was always there but with age and maturity she got even better. Anyways, loved your reaction! 🥰

The reason I like Taylor is 100% her clever songwriting ability. Vocals don’t always have to be the best & i’m not always impressed by vocal acrobats. One of the reasons I’ve only been a casual Beyoncé listener (meaning only listen to her songs on the radio or that someone else is playing) is because her songs have very little depth even though she will try to “run” you under the table.

Another song that uses a specific imagery and is through out the entire song is "the great war" from midnights. Every possible visual related to war is there comparing it to an argument. Or at least a big fight (hence the great war).
The reason I like Taylor is 100% her clever songwriting ability. Vocals don’t always have to be the best & i’m not always impressed by vocal acrobats. One of the reasons I’ve only been a casual Beyoncé listener (meaning only listen to her songs on the radio or that someone else is playing) is because her songs have very little depth even though she will try to “run” you under the table.
