may sound stupid but on the strikes you're missing, you're setting the hook to the side. when you set the hook upward you're getting more connections.

Not hating. But you gotta definitely use higher than 15lb leader fishing the mangroves. Every big snook you hook is gonna Frey that instantly. I don’t go lower than 30lb. And i sight fish a lot in the shallows. Would have been sweet to see her land that tank. But anyways looking forward to more of your videos.

awesome video dude! id be right back out there as soon i could be. Ive caught all my biggest snook on small swimbaits on a 3k with 30lb floro leader and its sketchy. i would not use less then 30lb leader, at least then you still have a fighting chance

Great catch. We fished a similar place growing up. You had a one or two strikes/ hook ups or your chances were done. Because it was so shallow you would spook the fish . But thanks for posting bro. I'd like to hook up for a trip when I get down to my boat.

Maybe you’ve addressed this in the past, but why don’t you use a net to land any fish? Also noticed many of your hook sets are sideways. I feel like I have better luck with pulling the rod tip straight up. What are your thoughts?
hey Lawson! why don't you use bait casting rod for this mangrove episodes and snaps for changing lures instant. I think that would be more comfortable.
