Looking forward to seeing the performance of this bad boy. Me being away from the hobby for so long now I’m interested to see tamiya efforts in improvement since the mad cap era. Gosh I didn’t even know TRF existed until mid 2023. Ha. Super cool to get a runner for track days

That's a great looking buggy, and it's nice to see a TRF edition of an entry level buggy. Very cool!

Very nice. They usually go for decent money. I've looked. When I got back into the hobby in 06 I bought my youngest son a Sand Viper, the eldest got a DF-03. I fixed up my Hornet back to running condition again. I was quite amazed seeing entry level buggies for that era next to the entry level from mine. The hobby had come along a bit.

Another thing that set the DT-02 MS apart from the standard DT-02 is the front shock tower brace. I just bought a DT-02 Sand Viper last month and one of the first upgrade I did was this front brace as I thought it would help the towers share the forces upon impact.
One more hop-up that you get in the DT-02 MS that I can see is Tamiya Dust Cover for Adjuster (item no. 53980), which is an aftermarket item. I also had these dust covers for the turnbuckles on my TT-02B.
All in all, a sweet deal you got there! Can't wait for running videos soon.

Hey Thanks, I totally forgot to mention the brace SMH... and didn't even think about the dust covers. Thanks for sharing the item # for those. I'm going to order me some and use them on other RC's.

These came from a time period before the first TRF cars and were the highest end racing buggies Tamiya had to offer. I love the MS cars for the time period they represent. Great video.

Nice! I've had a Sand Viper since around 2007, and I think you'll have plenty of fun with it. It's a well performing buggy.

My dt02 holiday buggy is one of my favorite RC’s. I put a 15t hpi firebolt motor in it and it totally rips

What an awesome find, sweet! The DT02 is a decent buggy, and the MS version is a lot better. I would suggest reversing the front lower wishbones, lengthens the wheelbase by something like 12mm or so and improves the handling ;)

I think the TRF / MS colors have been excessively used on all types of Tamiya cars when looking online. Everybody with a Grashopper paints it in that scheme and throws on some TRF World Championship Team stickers 😅. With that being said, I think the spare body that came with yours is so much nicer than the OG one, I would definitively put that one on the car!
