Don't forget a friend to cause trouble with. Like flushing a ball down the toilet and having a plumber have to fish it out. The only evidence my dad had was the dog and I running down the hallway after it popped up (I secretly thinking it was my mom). We had that black lab, Gwennybear (I couldn't say Guinevere), for 16.5 years. Dogs are the best.

I do think about the fact that it is going to force this kid to come to terms with life being finite at probably a younger age because of how attached he is. That must be a difficult thing to have to navigate as a parent.

but allways with a helping hand from the parents. Childs can also be very brutal towards pets when you didn't teach them that pets aren't toys.
My eldests first word was "meow" lol. She left us recently after 16 beautiful years together. I miss her so much.

It's actually perfect that they don't. It reminds us to cherish the time we have with them all the more. It also forces us to learn about loss/ grief. A difficult, yet extremely important life lesson
@@nathanboyer80 I learned about loss and grief when my 23 year old son killed himself in 2007. When I adopted Lucy almost 13 years ago, I knew one day I'd face it again. However, even knowing that I wouldn't trade the years I've had with her for anything.

I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face throughout this whole video. So precious. 29 years ago this was our yellow lab “Bella” with our first baby boy, right down to the pacifier. Labs are so gentle and carefree as your sweet adorable handsome boy is here. Sadly, we did not have cells phones back then to video but the memories are embedded forever. Thank you for sharing these wonderful times of bonded great buds. And my son’s first words was “ba ba” for “Bella”

I love that the video is long. I have a special spot in my heart for black dogs as I’ve had many of them. Elvis is so special and tolerant and Ted is a sweet little boy. The mom did a great job videoing both to preserve for the future. Little kids are like dogs in a way. They never tire of playing and following their doggie mates. Dogs like that. Adorable video. Love it. 😍 ❤🐕

That's definitely 2 bonded brothers! I was an only child and growing up with a lot of animals gave me siblings that were always loving and ready to play. Every child should have the opportunity to have that special relationship. It teaches us responsibility, kindness, caring, and love of something other than self.

I grew up with asthma and was allergic to dogs but it didn't stop me going around my friend's house and hugging and playing with the black Labrador every day I could because I knew that dog loved me as much as I loved him 💙👍

How perfect they are together! I always found that I got to relive life through the eyes of my son while he was growing up. I absolutely loved seeing everything again for the first time through a new set of eyes! It was amazing and I will always remember that feeling!
