I was depressed recently. I'm getting married in less than 4 weeks & my Mom has been so difficult, rude & mean to those who are helping me & those who care for me. My hubby’s bomb dog had a hard time when she retired. She was very play focused and I had become disabled and at home all the time, so I hid her favorite ball both inside and outside the house, which she loved. She became my baby. Though she wasn’t protection trained, after meeting an unappealing individual while on a walk, I trusted her to protect both of us. His first dog, a many thousands of dollar Shepherd failed (given to a family) and a friend found KC at the pound. She was a hunting mix and the other guys gave him a hard time until she turned out be the best of the best, probably due to her nose. Love my current Bassett rescue/companion but I suspect he would sell me for a cookie!
I’ve never in my life heard of an American having that much trust and love in their animal, let alone that much trust and love in their own hearts for another human who just needed a chance!!!!! The guy who was willing to court the bird is absolutely a keeper! He didn't dismiss the relationship she had with her pet; he respected her feelings. He not only tolerated being initially disliked by the bird, he was gentle and patient; he didn't just tolerate him, he was actively looking for ways to interact that might improve things. 🥰 Someone that accepting is going to be a wonderful partner! So many people say, "trust your animal's instincts". I agree. It just worked out a little differently; her bird set challenges for her knight to prove he's worthy 😊
