i absolutely ADORE the snippets of eternal dream through episode 6. when it plays after N and uzi hug, during the ambient sequence of the sentinels waking up, is my favorite. it plays over the lab intercom, as if it was a song the lab workers used to listen to. now it is distorted and crunchy, accompanying the empty abandoned visuals of the secret lab. it is so solemn and beautiful when it comes to the scene of uzi asking N if he’s okay. absolutely amazing.

Huge shows and movies are always being ruined because of corporate influence, they get dragged out to make more money, potentially risky plot points are changed to be more generic, and in general creativity and originality are sacrificed for the sake of money. That's why small youtube projects are legitimately better than some multimillion-dollar shows.
@@torpid5092 Agreed. If I were to think of one scenario where indies score a win on the top of my head, a perfect example (in gaming) would be Lethal Company vs Call Of Duty.
The only things here I've not experienced yet are COTL and Lackadaisy , so I'll say my words about the other ones HK: Awesome style , the music fits erfectly at every moment , the worse rank you can give to a song is "good" or "not my style" , like I would hear some of those tracks 24/7 (like Sealed Vessel , Nightmare King , The Grimm Troupe , Broken Vessel , City of Tears , etc) Nut dealer (It's an anagram of Undertale , like Deltarune) : Do I have to say something here? The fact that you can connect almost every song having Once Upon a Time at the center is awesome , and every leitmotif contributes to the story , and some are going with the list of 24/7 tracks (Spider Dance , BAaTH , Death by Glamour , ASGORE , Hotland , His theme , etc.) TADC : I'm glad I looked beyond the kinda cringy first impression it gave to me , because it's the most jaw-dropping , heart-stopping , mind-bending paraphernalia I've ever layed my eyes upon (I had to make that reference) and so is the music , every track into the playlist Murder drones : WHY? WHY DID YOU NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT "Solver Uzi"? IT'S LITERALLY THE BEST TRACK IN THE SERIES( besides Eternal Dream and the ones for the Prom) *Ehem* AJ Dispirito deserves more views , he gave the most charisma to the show , even the songs' names are funny , definitly one of the best indie shows ever made , and if don't like it .... BITE ME!
My first experience with TADC was when a piano synthesia channel did the theme song. I thought it was cringe too, and that it was like a kid show or something lol. Once I eventually saw hundreds of millions of people watched it, I figured I'd try it, and I was definitely proven wrong. What I'm glad about, is it led me to murder drones, since its the same studio. Its the most invested I've been in a show since when I was little and watched cartoons regularly, and I'm glad I got to experience it :D
In murder drones the song “Falling… For You??” Is shown multiple times through out the show when Uzi and N have an important moment together, we see in episode 4 when Uzi and N hug and talk in the sky, in episode 3 when M says “I could help, but you probably don’t want me to…” and Uzi asks for help (AKA a special moment) When Uzi hugs N in episode 6 and N squeezes her tighter, and in the trailer for episode 7&8 when Uzi squeezes N’s hand and breaks it. Just though to point that out AND ALSO SHOWS UZI X N IS THE BEST SHIP IN THE SHOW!!!!
Omg bro why did you go this video just to say “ N X UZI IS THE BEST SHIP” Like bro we get it its canon but like cmon, its just opinion based, there is no real best ship, and yes i know i sound like a nerd but still
I honestly think one of the reasons why they're so good is the fact that the devs/creators of these successful indie games and series genuinely care and hold passion for their project, not being blinded by money, fame, or higher-ups making bad decisions some AAA companies can unfortunately experience. This lets them put TONS of their efforts into making memorable and actually sick music to listen to. For example, Toby Fox was basically a one-man army, so he could make the music EXACTLY how he wanted on his own time and Glitch was made by 2 brothers who started a small company with the hopes of releasing free high-quality content, so of course they'd try to produce great content. Also I'm not intentionally calling AAA game/series music bad, if anything I'd say the music is typically seen as the better part of some games considered "bad" out there. Just making sure an argument doesn't start if someone misinterprets this comment, lol.

Yknow the sad thing is that music in the communities sometimes barely get recognition because people just say oh hey its from the one meme and not actually from the original sound. Its kind of like we live we love we lie, it was only basically known because of a meme. Which is kind of like these indie animations, like one of the reasons people would actually know that the TADC ending theme is original is because it was a big success, and of course theyll know, Hey this is from Tadc! I should go check it out again! But some like murder drones music and Lackadaisy music used in other meme videos, since they arent as big as some other indie animations, the songs either get used and people think that it is theirs and not the original owners, or the music that people put effort into would not be heard. Which is sad because these soundtracks are all really good and have so much effort put into them, but a lot of people dont hear them.

Finally, someone who actually talked about murder drones soundtrack. As a composer myself, i think that AJ really does what hes supposed to do. Unlike other soundtracks, there is actually some slight human defunctions on his songs, including the tempo change, which makes it give some more realistic atmosphere. Ive been trying to make a song like he does for months as well, but its really hard. I do agree when you say ep 6's soundtracks are entirely unique, My favorite song so far of writing this comment is from this episode. Specifically, the last song in episode 6. Even the song makes you realize that the stakes are high. The drums and synths are what makes almost the entire juice of the soundtrack, Including that oscillated synth, which is included in all soundtracks, but in this one it just makes it feel different, as well as the dramatic choirs that go within. One thing i also want to talk about are the slight synth and strings that make it feel more intense. AJ just made it go with 3 simple notes (correct me if im wrong): Starts with D, then after 2/2s goes up (D#) and goes back to D after 1/2s. Its very simple but creates a large difference in the intensiveness of the soundtrack.
My favourite soundtrack of the series is in the Ep 4, cabin fever personally has the best Atmosphere, chasing scene, and also the soundtrack its fit in so well. Might have to rewatch it again for the quadrallion time and also the other one while im waiting for the Ep 7 got Released! And last thing, the information you've given was imaculate.
Vivziepop fans (including me): Wait, where is Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel? People who read the title (also me): The video meant soundtracks as in non-diegetic music not diegetic musical numbers.
Yeah in a video about indie animation music it does feel kind of like a crime to barely mention the shows with more musicals than episodes. But considering the video is about bgm and not simply music, I really can't argue against its exclusion, everything else on this list does just kinda outclass the background music of hb
The sealed vessel theme goes so hard, the transition from loud and explosive, to sad and heartfelt is actually insane. It tells the story of the hollow knight and the eventual downfall of hallownest. Christopher larkin is literally modern bethoven.
I was wondering if you were going to talk about the Solver Uzi track. Personally my favourite track in the entirety of murder drones (second only to knife dance). The slow, ominous track building into an encore of terror and then finishing with the best rendition of the main theme from murder drones. It combines slow rhythms before moving to staccato, and then leitmotifs. So beautifully well done.
This video really helps emphasize on the importance of music and how it helps adding up to the atmostphere, ambience of the scene while also complimenting on how truly impressive and unique the collective world of indie music here, even when it is worked on by such a small scale. Not only does it compliments the word of indie, it also teaches us to fully embrace and appriciate these immaculate masterpieces
I Love how well the Soundtracks have been made for all the Indie Pilots, Especially for Lackadaisy, Murder Drones, and Amazing Digital Circus. I need to look into what I can about Audio Technology and Soundtrack design for my own future projects. I’m hoping to create my own Webcomic myself, and hopefully an Animated Pilot eventually. I have alot of work ahead of me, but I’m determined to keep working hard! Thank you for this Wonderful video Syafieq, I hope you have a Fantastic New Year. And the same goes for everyone here! Stay Safe and be well Lovelies, see ya around! 💛😸😸😸💛
May I also suggest the outstanding soundtracks of both the Hazbin Hotel Pilot and Terraria. Outside of the lyrical songs, Helluva Boss doesn’t really have a particularly catchy soundtrack, but Stolas Speaks is a goated instrumental piece.
While I appreciate that you mentioned Lackadaisy, The amazing digital circus and Murder drones (still haven't watched any of them) I also want to mention that the Animator vs Animation V and Animator vs Animation VI osts are incredibly good.
Honestly The same video that I'm watching today actually got me into the show of murder drones and I really can't thank you enough for posting this cuz it really Goes into depth about indie projects and Art of indie soundtracks
Another indie game OST I adore is the OMORI OST. It has around 173 songs I believe and was composed by 3 different artists, Pedro Silva, Jamie Lyn and Bo En. Playing the game can make some of the songs sob your eyes out, and not playing the game might still make you sob your eyes out. Some of the songs can perfectly capture some emotions so I really recommend you check em out. Fear and stress: Acrophobia Pressure: Omori Angry sorrow: It Means Everything Nostalgia: See You Tomorrow, Crossroads Regret/Sadness: DUET Hopeful: Clean Slate Relief/joy: Good Morning Honorable mentions: Worlds End Valentine, Flouring With You, Bready Steady go I love all the songs in this OST and would recommend you check em out!😊
YES I was really hoping OMORI would be mentioned in this video because then I would have found 2 hyper fixations in one video (OMORI and Murder Drones)
This is great! Another example of great soundtracks is rainworld. There's a leitmotif in a lot of the important soundtracks. Some examples are Sundown, Pictures of the Past, Moondown, and I think Random gods. (And the cycle if you count it, its pictures of the past reversed) The music is somewhere in between organic and electric, which fits the setting really well. And the threat music. Wow. It changes depending on how much danger you're in. Its dynamic to what you're doing.
Indie creators be giving the most out-of-the-box names for their OSTs And they're all bangers I have a whole playlist dedicated to the good OSTs, especially Indie
So cool to see another person who puts murder drones and Michael as some of the best things that the indie genre has provided. Also wondering if you've ever seen Glitches other animations? (Meta runner [Another of my favs] and sunset paradise).
I dont see enough people talking about the underverse ost! It is incredible how good NyxTheShield's soundtracks are! But it is understandable, it is needed a insane amount of knowledge about the undertale multiverse just to UNDERSTAND what is going on in the show.
Yesterday I literally watched murder drones episode 1-7 straight. I had seen it constantly on RUclips being recommended to me, until I had been like “okay, fuck it, let’s watch it.” Best decision of my life, this show is actually so good
I absolutely agree with you. I listen almost exclusevly to game or show OSTs and a lot of nerdcore. You just can´t find that amount love an passion put in to making those OSTs anywhere else. And just giving you huge prps for this video. The quality was extremely good so keep up the good work.
Damn, how many of my favorite pieces of media can you put in one video? I'm glad other people are noticing Murder Drone's fight soundtracks because they go incredibly hard, I kind of avoided the show for a while because I thought it was overly edgy and was just hopping on the "youtube animation project" bandwagon that was kind of spawned by Hazbin Hotel. But not only is it completely distinct from those other projects, it's quite a lot better.
This is some of the best work I have seen in a while, I would happily watch hour-long videos going into depth for the music from both indie games and indie animations
Murder Drones is officially my absolute favorite show that I have ever watched. Anime doesn’t come close. Pixar doesn’t even come close to anime. I just love it. It’s so amazing, and the soundtrack is so good, almost ridiculously so.
Camping Mp.3 in Ep4 of Murder Drones was also an excellent case of how manupilating the main theme can make it hold a different meaning. That piece was the main theme but played in a major key instead of the traditional minor key, which changes the tone of the entire motif.

HK: Awesome style , the music fits erfectly at every moment , the worse rank you can give to a song is "good" or "not my style" , like I would hear some of those tracks 24/7 (like Sealed Vessel , Nightmare King , The Grimm Troupe , Broken Vessel , City of Tears , etc)
Nut dealer (It's an anagram of Undertale , like Deltarune) : Do I have to say something here? The fact that you can connect almost every song having Once Upon a Time at the center is awesome , and every leitmotif contributes to the story , and some are going with the list of 24/7 tracks (Spider Dance , BAaTH , Death by Glamour , ASGORE , Hotland , His theme , etc.)
TADC : I'm glad I looked beyond the kinda cringy first impression it gave to me , because it's the most jaw-dropping , heart-stopping , mind-bending paraphernalia I've ever layed my eyes upon (I had to make that reference) and so is the music , every track into the playlist
Murder drones : WHY? WHY DID YOU NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT "Solver Uzi"? IT'S LITERALLY THE BEST TRACK IN THE SERIES( besides Eternal Dream and the ones for the Prom) *Ehem*
AJ Dispirito deserves more views , he gave the most charisma to the show , even the songs' names are funny , definitly one of the best indie shows ever made , and if don't like it .... BITE ME!
Classic Uzi line at the end lol
@@the_cap64 I knew I had to make some references to TADC and Murder Drones, so yeah , there they are.
Love the references 😂
4:06 ONESHOT MENTION LETSSSS GOOOOOOO
Its all over the screen
25:45 "between uzi n n" ok i understand
i should clean my ears
In murder drones the song “Falling… For You??” Is shown multiple times through out the show when Uzi and N have an important moment together, we see in episode 4 when Uzi and N hug and talk in the sky, in episode 3 when M says “I could help, but you probably don’t want me to…” and Uzi asks for help (AKA a special moment) When Uzi hugs N in episode 6 and N squeezes her tighter, and in the trailer for episode 7&8 when Uzi squeezes N’s hand and breaks it. Just though to point that out AND ALSO SHOWS UZI X N IS THE BEST SHIP IN THE SHOW!!!!
yeah i do know about the track being played in Ep. 6 and the 7 & 8 teaser but not in the 3rd episode tho. thanks for pointing that out!
Omg bro why did you go this video just to say “ N X UZI IS THE BEST SHIP” Like bro we get it its canon but like cmon, its just opinion based, there is no real best ship, and yes i know i sound like a nerd but still
@@JustACasual_PersonBro only looked at the last two lines of the comment💀
Sry I’m obsessed with that ship lmao@@JustACasual_Person
@@Zo1nkez Your good
I honestly think one of the reasons why they're so good is the fact that the devs/creators of these successful indie games and series genuinely care and hold passion for their project, not being blinded by money, fame, or higher-ups making bad decisions some AAA companies can unfortunately experience.

Based take, I 100% second this.
100% correct! Passion for the art drives it to new highs! Greed drags it down!

Absolute BANGER of a video. Man you need more subs.
hey y'all just passin by to say THANK YOU FOR THE INSANE SUPPORT ON THE VIDEO !!! really didn't expect it to gain this much traction at all in such a short amount of time.
here are some additional stuff i'd like to point out after reading the first 170ish comments:
- I absolutely forgot about 'Solver Uzi' and yes it is an absolute banger of a track that I slept on, so i'll take the L for it lmao
- yes there are a ton of projects that Zako and I havent been able to discuss (e.g. Ultrakill, Rain World, Omori) and you know what, we'll save those for another video in another time so don't ya worry
i highly appreciate all the comments, suggestions and critiques and will continue to read them till the foreseeable future.
once again, thank you very much watchin
You made a great video! + I think we can all agree Murder Drones is goated AND eternal dream is goated AND the whole series is SO F**KING GOOD WHAT THE HELL IS A BAD INTERNET SERIES RAGGHGGGGGGGHHHHHHH 🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️‼️‼️🤖🤖🤖🤖‼️‼️‼️
please post more murder drones content!!! i would defenitly watch it from you!!
ultrakill was missed in this video, BUT IT WAS SAVED FOR ANOTHER LETS GO!
I just realized this is your first time getting over a thousand views, congrats!
Where risk of rain 2? Chris Don't Miss
The intro gave me chills
I am a simple-minded person when I see N I click
Seeing Murder Drones and Hollow Knight together in a video is a thing that I never knew I needed...
28:00 theres another soundtrack in episode 4 that you missed out in the video
Solver uzi.The song is really good and high quality.I genuinely feel like making a GD layout with this song especially with the new 2.2 update
28:03 "does have actually calming sounding tracks"
shows a guy's head being blown off
Yknow the sad thing is that music in the communities sometimes barely get recognition because people just say oh hey its from the one meme and not actually from the original sound.
I listen to the entire MD sound track on loop while doing stuff. I'm not okay, but I'm loving it.

i love the fact that murder drones are the subject to all three of the top three comments despite the vastly larger projects on here!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who LOVES Eternal Dream (I swear it's the "Sunflower" of Spider-Verse for Murder Drones to me)
Eternal dream is so good tbh, specially the quintet Mashup
Vivziepop fans (including me): Wait, where is Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel?
People who read the title (also me): The video meant soundtracks as in non-diegetic music not diegetic musical numbers.
Yeah in a video about indie animation music it does feel kind of like a crime to barely mention the shows with more musicals than episodes.
But considering the video is about bgm and not simply music, I really can't argue against its exclusion, everything else on this list does just kinda outclass the background music of hb
I know it's unrelated to the comment but nice VDGG pfp. Definitely a underated prog band
Seriously, thanks for talking about the soundtrack of murder drones, I was waiting a lot for find a video about it
27:41 jesus fcking christ even without visuals, i fell in love with "knife dance" the moment i heard this part
The sealed vessel theme goes so hard, the transition from loud and explosive, to sad and heartfelt is actually insane. It tells the story of the hollow knight and the eventual downfall of hallownest. Christopher larkin is literally modern bethoven.
Bro must have at least 100 copyright strikes
Nah
I was wondering if you were going to talk about the Solver Uzi track. Personally my favourite track in the entirety of murder drones (second only to knife dance). The slow, ominous track building into an encore of terror and then finishing with the best rendition of the main theme from murder drones. It combines slow rhythms before moving to staccato, and then leitmotifs. So beautifully well done.
Glitch you are under arrest for making music too gud please continue
This video really helps emphasize on the importance of music and how it helps adding up to the atmostphere, ambience of the scene while also complimenting on how truly impressive and unique the collective world of indie music here, even when it is worked on by such a small scale. Not only does it compliments the word of indie, it also teaches us to fully embrace and appriciate these immaculate masterpieces

I Love how well the Soundtracks have been made for all the Indie Pilots, Especially for Lackadaisy, Murder Drones, and Amazing Digital Circus. I need to look into what I can about Audio Technology and Soundtrack design for my own future projects. I’m hoping to create my own Webcomic myself, and hopefully an Animated Pilot eventually. I have alot of work ahead of me, but I’m determined to keep working hard! Thank you for this Wonderful video Syafieq, I hope you have a Fantastic New Year. And the same goes for everyone here! Very good video, really wanted someone to make this kind of video showcasing these, Murder Drones is also my fav :}

@@sherlockgudu8756 and proud of it! :}
but, um, actually, nerds like math, geeks like this stuff, soooooooo.........
May I also suggest the outstanding soundtracks of both the Hazbin Hotel Pilot and Terraria. Outside of the lyrical songs, Helluva Boss doesn’t really have a particularly catchy soundtrack, but Stolas Speaks is a goated instrumental piece.
i fricking cried when i remembered the death of V from the song
i have a murder drones addiction
Welcome to the Team 🤝
While I appreciate that you mentioned Lackadaisy, The amazing digital circus and Murder drones (still haven't watched any of them) I also want to mention that the Animator vs Animation V and Animator vs Animation VI osts are incredibly good.
Ultrakill one hit hard: the world looks red, dense macabre, war without a reason, altars of apostasy and order hits hard
Yo now you gotta add the extra murder drones episode soundtrack! These ones be sick, but not as fire as the prom ones.
Murder Drones is a modern Masterpiece and I would give almost anything to work on it as well
the new murderer drones soundtrack is nuts, the fight in episode eight is incredible.
25:58 he also voiced angel in the pilot of hazbin hotel
Honestly The same video that I'm watching today actually got me into the show of murder drones and I really can't thank you enough for posting this cuz it really Goes into depth about indie projects and Art of indie soundtracks
AJ’s work on MD is nothing short of magnificent. Plain as! Master of the craft!
3:58 ill come back to this
You gotta remember, MEGALOVANIA was so good it managed to create an entire music genre on its own
Another indie game OST I adore is the OMORI OST.
Fear and stress: Acrophobia
Pressure: Omori
Angry sorrow: It Means Everything
Nostalgia: See You Tomorrow, Crossroads
Regret/Sadness: DUET
Hopeful: Clean Slate
Relief/joy: Good Morning
Honorable mentions: Worlds End Valentine, Flouring With You, Bready Steady go
I love all the songs in this OST and would recommend you check em out!😊
YES
I was really hoping OMORI would be mentioned in this video because then I would have found 2 hyper fixations in one video (OMORI and Murder Drones)
I am just randomly watching every video with murder drones content
Same
This is great!
Another example of great soundtracks is rainworld. There's a leitmotif in a lot of the important soundtracks. Some examples are Sundown, Pictures of the Past, Moondown, and I think Random gods. (And the cycle if you count it, its pictures of the past reversed)
The music is somewhere in between organic and electric, which fits the setting really well.
And the threat music. Wow. It changes depending on how much danger you're in. Its dynamic to what you're doing.
Was gonna say smth bout no rain world lmao
Nothing goes harder on a rainy night than sundown theme 1
Its because indie projects have passion behind them
Indie creators be giving the most out-of-the-box names for their OSTs
And they're all bangers I have a whole playlist dedicated to the good OSTs, especially Indie
CAN YOU SET ME FREEEE
WILL YOU TAKE MY SOUL AWAY
CASTING ME IN COLD
BURY ME IN BONES
REST ETERNALLYYYYY
WILL YOU TAKE ME HOMEEEEE
CAN WE SEE THE MOON AGAINNNN
DANCING IN THE DARK

I CAN"T END THIS DREAMMMMM
So cool to see another person who puts murder drones and Michael as some of the best things that the indie genre has provided. Also wondering if you've ever seen Glitches other animations? (Meta runner [Another of my favs] and sunset paradise).
Murder drones and hollow knight osts are about the only ones i listen to on their own. "Gentle" and resting grounds are personal highlights
Knife dance in ep. 3 of murder drones goes so unbelievably hard when N shoots the missile and Uzi throws the knife
I had seen it constantly on RUclips being recommended to me, until I had been like “okay, fuck it, let’s watch it.”
Best decision of my life, this show is actually so good
I absolutely agree with you.
Eternal dream is literally one of my favorite songs ever-
Michael Kovach did a cover of it in N's voice, so i suggest you listen to that too.
The fact that murderdrones has the longest segment makes me so happy
15:33 I’ll never forget abt N swearing💀
Edit: 22:44 YIPPEE! I waited 22 minutes for this. :)
Murder Drones is officially my absolute favorite show that I have ever watched.
Anime doesn’t come close.
Pixar doesn’t even come close to anime.
I just love it.
It’s so amazing, and the soundtrack is so good, almost ridiculously so.
1:22 I hate you, you can’t just play eternal dream with no warning
I know right the murders drones fandub is mad at him
Well im hyped about the video about Murder Drones when the first season is gonna be finished.
Episode 7 was the saddest episode

Camping Mp.3 in Ep4 of Murder Drones was also an excellent case of how manupilating the main theme can make it hold a different meaning. That piece was the main theme but played in a major key instead of the traditional minor key, which changes the tone of the entire motif.
i saw the first 30 seconds of the video and instantly subbed.
I loved the editing of this video so much
