Kosh knew the cost of attacking the shadows and he did it anyway. Imagine having lived all that time and finally turning to meet your demise like a true champion.
I absolutely love this scene. As long as you are here, I'll always be here. RIP Kosh *cough* *cough* . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hehehe, until *bzzt* nope, can't say anything, spoilers. Can't say nothing.
Since you know what happens in the next two episode as you have watched them I can say this to R Knights (and for those that haven't watched them you should have watched them before coming here so spoilers coming) The Vorlons KNEW everything that happened from the end of the war 1,000 years ago right up to the end of S03xE17 so Kosh had known his fate for over 1,000 years, that knowledge went back in time with B4 (as did the 2 Vorlons (IMO) thereby taking with them the knowledge of how they won the war). Kosh knew what was coming & KNOWs the cost but after facing his fear still pays the price. That is courage, not having no fear but having the strength to overcome that fear. Entil'zha Kosh, Your watch is over, we will never see your like again.

Thirty years later it STILL gets me.
Thanks for posting this. I was sad you skipped it in the main video.
Same! This is emotionally one of my favorite scenes from B5.
Remember that Kosh appeared to G'Kar as his father too.
Kosh really had a thing about appearing to people as their fathers
Kosh had Daddy Issues? 😀
"I have always been here."
You should have left that in.
Every viewer of Babylon5 was hit H-A-R-D by the death of Kosh.
Per JMS: "Vorlons don't run."
I always feel this was Koshs Gethsemane moment, he knew what was comming but chose not to run.
@@jimjones1652 Yep. And suddenly a (very good) stand-alone filler episode is foreshadowing.
@@jimjones1652There are a number of those moments over seasons 3 and 4 with varying consequences won't name characters.
Really glad you pulled this out and put it here as it's own thing.
Every time this scene hits hard. This season was the one of the best. Don't know if you're ready for what's coming.
Kosh/dad was played by Rance Howard. Father of Ron and Clint Howard and grandfather of Bryce Dallas Howard.
Good on ya.
:-)
I was expecting to see Darth Dwayne but soon realised I'd got the episode mixed up.
