    That second game was really good honestly

    • @gastongl404
      @gastongl404 3 года назад +580

      honestly, even the first game is worth a little more than 10$ (not talking about copy-paste the same idea over and over,but as is , it's worth a little more, maybe like 15-20$)
      for the second game, u can notice the nice art style,its simple but u can tell it's made by an expert artist that gave u what u paid for, even more, and u can notice the colors has been chosen wisely, also u can tell he could make the gameplay smoother but he didn't, for that price, it's worth at least $45
      lastly, for the last game, he is a good creative programmer, but not an artist, the game mechanism is more complicated compared to the last 2 games,he is not an expert artist, even so, he is smart bcz he knows how to make a good simple design with no effort or advanced art skills

    • @ilyasb4792
      @ilyasb4792 3 года назад +130

      The second game is maybe too good for 10$ and one week of work.
      Everything is way too polished, I mean he implemented :
      A really great procedural generation for the map generator
      Animation on basically everything which needs a lot of time to polish
      Effing parallax scrolling for the background
      A fully fledged UI system that seems to be working
      I really doubt that the game was made in one week by one person from scratch, either he started with an already existing project and tweaking some things or he is a god of game jams.

      @antheus_s 3 года назад +14

      @@ashrafibrahim4934 the technology would depend on what the creator offers and what BadGameDev specified in his request. If no technology was mentioned, it wouldn't be strange for a creator in this price range to choose whatever they like. A creator in a more realistic price range should ask for more information.
      Where I'm from, a software developer charges 50 - 150 euro per hour, depending on education, function and experience. If, for the sake of this argument, we take 50% of the lowest rate, we'd have an hourly rate of 25 euro. Which means that the total development time (including the art etc.) has to be 24 minutes (= 60 ÷ (25 ÷ 10)) to be profitable for a developer where I am from that charges 10 euro. This is also not taking into account that the developer also has to interpret the request and chat with the client.
      In my opinion and based on where I'm from, the developers did an amazing job, even if most of the code would be available on github or RUclips videos. It fulfilled the needs of the client for a low price.

We also don't know if these games were prototypes (copy/paste). Besides everyone should be grateful to be able to get a prototype for that amount of money, imagine if you was trying to create a full game experience $10 or $25 would add up since you have to keep spending money to create a full on experience. The 2nd one seems the funnest and most complete. For $10 that was a great deal.
    The 3rd one I think did something unique, and given your request to 'please be creative', a isometric(?) semi-3D endless runner game seems to fit the bill. I think it was a little sterile in its current iteration, but it had something a bit unique compared to what is typical for the genre, and that I think that creativity is worth something.

    You cant just pay devs 10 dollars for a game. You are really underpaying them, please pay them more in the future!

      They literally accepted the price, it's truly up to them 😆anyone who spends that kind of time to make $5 is a tit

    Game 1 seemed like a game that only cost 10$ to make. Game 2 looked actually well designed and like you said, polished, worth way more than 10$. I got really interested in the style of Game 3, and started to imagine different enemies, weapons, and a recharging ammo counter that could all make it get progressively more complex, as opposed to the simple "get faster".

    Where was the $1000 game?

    People getting mad in the comments for him not paying them a lot. He didn't have a big budget to begin with, and they agreed on the pricing. However, he should give credit where credit is due.

    Why the $1000 in the thumbnail....?

  • @-zelda-
    @-zelda- 3 года назад +25

    Your thumbnail is misleading. No $1000 budget and no first person shooter (YT actually has an option to report the video for this)
    You didn't even put the fiverr profiles of the developers in the description which is the LEAST that you could do after promoting basically slave labor paying them $10 bucks for a full game.
    No wonder this video has such high amount of dislikes

    A good/interesting video that would work just fine without the lie. That's not even clickbait, you straight up bullsheetted in the thumbnail. This is the first, and last time, I watch you. I did enjoy the video tho. A shame it ended like that.

    yeah these devs did you a huge favor. the amount of money they were paid for the work they did is pretty incredible. even the first game must have taken some time to get all the artwork done before even putting the game together. it might have not been diverse but it probably took some time to put that all together. I would definitely say 10/10 for all three

    i honestly feel like these game makers shouldnt charge any less than 100 for even simple games

    You could port all 3 of those games to PS4/PS5, make it an easy platinum and those trophy hunters would buy it.

    Really should credit the individuals who made these - especially the second one, they definitely deserve recognition for creating that with a $10 budget!!

    For the second game the gems should be replaced with ammo, so you have to try and save your shots. And as you shoot your ammo goes down your ammo is also your score

    When I grow up, I want to be a game developer.
    After watching the video, maybe I should just work for McDonald's.
