The last game uses a marketplace horror template called horror engine and probably a marketplace map. The seller most likely sells the same project to each customer if he's just using templates. Terrible. If he's offering source files on the fiver website, which many game developer posts do, then that is illegal as it violates marketplace tos. As the developer didn't even make what he sold you that one is worse than the first one.
Edit: I checked and he does sell source files which is illegal as he is not allowed to redistribute the asset packs he purchased. That seller is practically scamming buyers and marketplace sellers. It's crazy that crap like this is allowed on fiver. He charges minimum 100 for the basic pack. People need to so more research before buying into this.
i mean actual game development is difficult, complicated, and very time consuming so 100 dollars or less for a full game is definitely not going to be original and will most likely not have original code or assets, or if it does it will not be of a very high quality for that price, people just need to understand real game development cant be done that quickly or cheaply with the expectations of quality original works
@@pablovaldes2397 The originality isnt really the problem the problem is the redistribution of source files to buyers. That is entirely illegal. Sell copycat games if people will buy them. Just don't redistribute other people's work.
@@arxci9402 i mean like original code, like they made it themselves, because they clearly just copied another person's work, and i dont mean a lookalike, i mean line after line of code and source files for that game, because there is no way he could make that in a short time frame, but im no expert tbh
If this youtuber “Bad Gamedev” is including the source files on his patreon in addition to the compiled game, he too, is in violation of the marketplace TOS.
Even if he doesn’t include them, kind of shady that he’s reselling other peoples work through patreon.

7:28 as a game developer my self I assure u they used unreal engine asset called "horror engine " to make this game in which 98 percent of work is done by this assets and it's free anyone can make these kinda game if u have some bit of knowledge about unreal engine

I belive they added some colorgrading aswell, which makes it kinda stand out a bit, I am not sure if horror engine has that
I’m a unity dev but it was very obvious to me that they did not make all that themselves. Especially the art, that must have been a pack at least. This engine is tempting me, the watermark at the beginning of my games is starting to become a problem.

I really liked that “skillcheck” struggle mechanic in the second game. It looks like a cool idea.
To everyone, even you BadGameDev, thinking the third one was a real game, sorry to disappoint you.
I now worked with UE4 for nearly 6 years, sadly all the assets, even the mechanics, were an asset flip.
The bunker is basically a five dollar package while the mechanics are a template called "Horror Engine", this template is available for free and anyone can play with it. All you have seen is already included in the template, it is basically drag-n-drop and that's it.

Last seller is a complete scam. Using a pre-made horror engine for unreal which I myself have used, and charging that price.
With some more development and polishing, the last one could be made into a full game
Edit: Everyone stop telling me this is an asset flip, I have been told that more times than I can count and it's getting annoying!

This horror game idea i had a few years ago was called "forgotten" is was a third person horror game where you played a 19yr street smart, street teen named alison smith, who wakes up in a strange place and doesn't remember a thing, while being hunted down by "mr smiley" a tall and slender figure with a mask craves with a smile on it and empty eye sockets, its a survival horror where you have run, hide, stay quite, use stealth and noise to continue farther, alison has blond hair with black dye at the edges, a torn lather jacket, grey hoodie, a white faded shirt with a skull, dark blue jeans with a hole in the left knee, sneakers, and a dark grey beanie and a smallish backpack. While trying to avoid the monsters, alison has to manage her stamina, sanity, hunger, inventory, and rest, few places where alison can restock and feel well rested and save progress in her diary in the her "safe spot", alison can arm herself in different weapons she finds the way and they will break over time, knifes, axes, bats, pipes, ETC.

@@Gojira_Wins the evil within, slender, and other survival horror game gave me the inspiration, the hunger and sanity can easily be manage but should never be neglected or forgotten about, it also adds the challenges to keep track of what's in hand.

Am I missing the part where you mention how much you paid for each game?
It would just be nice from a critique perspective to know how much you paid and how much time they had. Otherwise it's just you running around 3 random games. Why does this matter? Well, if you paid me $10 and I had 1 day to make a game, you'd probably get the first game. If you paid me $1000 and a month of time to work with, you'd probably get the third game. It's unfair to judge sellers based on radically different conditions.

The third seller is distributing Source Code, which is illegal.
I submitted a Report through Fiverr about this Seller and I would suggest everyone else does the same. It's fine to sell a game you make but don't fuck over Developers trying to sell their Assets.

99% of that last game was just the free horror engine asset for Unreal Engine. But yes, using it can allow you to spend most of your time actually building a good game. The guy in the last video should've had a lot more done within a week.
The first game sucks. Its just bad... Im a begginer when it comes to unity C# but I can still make that game in 30 mins or less. No character animations, no maze artwork, no "horror" feeling. Basically a waste of money and time. People might get triggred by me saying that but I still think this game is just bad. Even adding a bit of darkness around the player wouldve helped. 20$ wasted.
