A couple months ago I made a terrifying, scary horror game in only one week for the Brackeys 2022.2 Game Jam. I've been working on this video devlog for a long time so I'm glad it's finally finished.

I'm no expert, but I would say good pacing, length, vocal quality. Kept me engaged. Everything I look for in a devlog. Also 20th out of over 1000! Congratulations!

This was amazing, all the tactics you used to create an air of suspense were really clever and the quality of video made me think you have a diamond play button.

i got major anxiety watching you model that gun with that amount of unnecessary polygons haha. that said: blender is really hard at the beginning, unless you spend the time watching tutorials! i remember wanting to die trying to model a can of soup with arms and legs the first time

Amazing video!
If you're looking to play this game, go play it before watching the devlog. You'll likely have a better time than I did. I watched the devlog, and then downloaded the game. Its a good game overall, but the fact I knew what was going on kinda broke the entire experience. In other words it wasn't a great game but that's mostly my own fault. My review: An experience it was, but in my opinion not a very good one. No spoilers here but I rather disliked the ending and felt more like I wasted my time then spent it. THAT DOESN'T MEAN ITS ACTUALLY A BAD GAME THOUGH
But im in my warm bed and really wanted to see the whole game. How could you do this to me?

the video overall is good! However, when you put up the clip with the grey background and the audio waves it gets boring to look it, especially since these clips take up a large portion of the entire video. if you just hover your mouse over the timeline, youll see it throughout the entire video. I counted 11 times just looking through the timeline. I think you should keep your icon, but have some type of b roll paired with what your talking about or something going on for the viewer to look at instead of the same old background. That gets old quick, trust me. especially for your re-occuring viewers (your community) who you really dont want to get bored with your content. It may take longer to edit, but they create these empty sections on the video that are perfect opportunities for the viewer to click off. Also, and this is even more important than the last tip, select a couple different songs for background music that plays throughout your entire video. just have something else to compliment your voice. the main thing is to keep the viewers attention retained and just listening to someone talk over some footage is kinda boring. watch any large youtube channel. they all, and i mean ALL, have some type of background music constantly playing. final note, consistency is key. create an upload schedule and stick to it. if you want to succeed, dont half ass it. imo your upload schedule currently is too too scattered if you want to gain subs and a community. also, THUMBNAILS. MAKE. GOOD. THUMBNAILS. put time into the thumbnail. you can make the BEST VIDEO EVER, but if your thumbnail doesnt catch the viewers eye, NO ONE WILL CLICK ON IT. i hope this helps!
