Very nice review again. I think it's totally fair that you just don't like how this size wears on you. The 226570 is the successor to the 216570. They changed a few things such as the movement, the hour and minute hands now lacking that small black lacquered part at the base and the case being reworked so it wears better. The white dial is the 226570-0001 and the black one the 226570-0002.
Ah I see! Thanks for the heads up, my friend! When I was doing my research, 216570 was pictured white and the 226570 was pictured black...I inferred the wrong idea from that 🤣 Hope you're keeping well!
The older Explorer 2 ‘s the 24 hr hand could not be set independently. Modern ones use the same movements as the GMTs hence the jumping hour which is far more functional.
The black version is also more available due to the higher popularity of the polar. I like both. One aspect might be the sort of "disappearing" date window on the white version
I have a 7 inch wrist and it looks perfect on me. I love it so much. But it’s definitely not for a smaller wrist, looks bad in this review. Great vid though!
If you are on a type 20 kick, you should try to ask airin and hanhart for Review pieces. I would love it. French used hanhart plans and machineries for their wartime chronos as basis for the type 20 as a war reparation cost. Dodane and Auricoste are even more expensive and probably as close as vintage ones you can go. Breguet is another league by itself. Sinn and guinand have modern chrono of that style as long as the longines big eye. Mathey tissot used to build breguets type 20 under contract to jack up production numbers for breguet back in the day btw.
@@engineer_wannabe for some weird reason my comment was posted on your video instead if another one in my playlist that was before yours! Wish you a pleasant day!!
one can also use the GMT hand as a compass (points north when you have it set for local time, point the hour hand to the sun and are in the northern hemisphere) -- I have the 16570 and it’s the one for you, bro
Great video Sanjay...look forward to your Moser review as it appears to be in the lead for votes right now...I think that'll be more up your alley. Cheers!
I have the same wrist size and I'm gonna use this vid as a data point for ~50mm lug to lug watches on 6 inch wrists. I got to try the new sumo solar gmt and it actually fit me even on bracelet. Looked kinda big on me(?) so idk if I should commit.
Great review and love your channel. This is one of my favourite Rolex models because of the orange hour hand. The 226570 is too large for me but maybe someday it will go back to 40mm.
216570 vs 226570 has nothing to do with the dial color. Those are the references for the older and newer versions of the Exp II. Both references come in black and white dials.
Thanks so much, my friend! Yeah! The longer I’m in the hobby, the more I begin to appreciate the effort it take to design watch that can fit a variety of wrist sizes
Don’t bother to buy Tudor especially the smaller size. You will suffer when you want to sell it and move on . Either insulting offers, tons of stupid questions and disappear afterwards

I appreciate the prologue where you state that a great price has been paid for me.
One of my favorite Rolex models, a fantastic tool watch
Immensely enjoy your channel Sanjay and glad there’s a fanboy out there for GS!
Thank you, Peter. You are too kind!
Such a Beautiful watch!!!congrats!!!

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks so much
Thanks for covering this timepiece! We have the same wrist size; needless to say, I don't think I'll put this on my wishlist! haha
I don't know why people choose a white dial. It is beautiful but black will always be black, classic, timeless.
And more true to the original 1655……..Black every time, especially the discontinued floating hands model…….beautiful…
The black version is also more available due to the higher popularity of the polar. I like both. One aspect might be the sort of "disappearing" date window on the white version
Both the white and black models are the same ref 226570
The white dial and the black dial both have the same reference number 226570. The 216570 is the discontinued model.
I have a 7 inch wrist and am wondering if it’ll fit me
Nice video btw!

My wrist is slightly over 7” and it fits me well.
Awesome review, Sanjay. Keep representing us modest wrist folks! Sending love from Malaysia :)
Thanks so much for your kind words! Sending love from Canada 🙂

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I'll have to look into them in the future 🙂

That's a cool function! Thanks for sharing, R!
@@engineer_wannabe gmt function is the tooliest tool watch EVAR!
God bless you. Wish I had a friend in faith who was also into watches!

Thanks so much, my friend! Moser review will be coming up 😉
This its the best Explorer 2 ever made, it is to big for you however. Explorer 1 (36) would be a perfect watch.
36mm Explorer does fit me like a glove!
I really enjoyed this review. A bit big for me as well, but I would totally go for the black dial over the polar. Nicely done
Thanks so much, Clayton! You could pull this one off with ease 😉
I’m on the waitlist for the polar version. Love or hate Rolex you gotta admit their movements are bulletproof 😎!
Oh boy, you should search for "32xx movement problems"
You're absolutely right! Hope you get the call soon, my friend!
I picked up mine last month. It's all I've worn . I Hope yours arrives soon
Thanks for the kind words Sanjay 🙏 you need a arm model like Teddy has 😅
Haha an arm model would be very helpful!
Thanks so much, JJ!
Great review, Sanjay! I think if it fit you better, you would love it.
You're probably right, Joey! Objectively, It's a great watch!
love your vids! i found the 226570 hour markers to be quite a bit dimmer than the hands when first charged, so you're not alone on this!
You're too kind! Thank you!
Great video brother ❤
Thanks so much, Miguel! ❤️

226570 is the reference for black and polar. 216570 is the previous reference for this. Different movement and some minor cosmetic differences.
i have to same size wrist but it sits better on my wrist, strange, but yeah the watch does wear a little large for most case scenarios
I need that watch...
The original one was not a GMT. I thought the 24-hour hand could not move independently on the original, and was only used to tell day or night.
This makes so much sense. Thanks for the heads up, my friend 🙂
Man, look at you go Sanjay a Rolex explorer gmt 🎉🎉
Haha it's not mine 😉
16570 in the works for Sanjay 😊
16570 is tugging at my heart 😁
Great review and love your channel. This is one of my favourite Rolex models because of the orange hour hand. The 226570 is too large for me but maybe someday it will go back to 40mm.

Fits you like a true hunk.
Haha 😁
Way to go Sanjay!
Thanks so much, my friend!

And your point is ….??????
looks ´good on you.
You make a good point about lug shape. Sometimes when they are too flat, they make a watch wear larger than the lug to lug measurement itself.
Thanks so much, my friend! Yeah! The longer I’m in the hobby, the more I begin to appreciate the effort it take to design watch that can fit a variety of wrist sizes
You should get the new Tudor 54😊
Hoping to see it in the flesh sometime soon! 🙂
Don’t bother to buy Tudor especially the smaller size. You will suffer when you want to sell it and move on . Either insulting offers, tons of stupid questions and disappear afterwards
It looks dome glass that unique in rolex
Thanks for the kind words
The watch looks too large for your small/thin wrist! lol
A titanium version of the Explorer 2 would make it wear better.
