All these boys in the comments complaining about it being 42mm. Just let us grown men with with grown men wrists enjoy it. Go back to your 36mm Datejusts.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 right? I think it's a confidence thing. Just rock it. I have a 6.8 inch wrist (by no means a large wrist) and will rock this all day. Looks the part. Dont give a sh1t what anyone else thinks.
@@steelsteez6118 Yeah it really depends.. I saw so many vids of this thing looking huge on 6.5 inch wrists. I’m 6’5 with a 7 inch wrist so not big wrists and it looks great on me.
As with any watch, the size of a watch is subjective. For those with a larger wrist like myself, most prefer a larger watch - 42mm plus. Others with smaller wrists the opposite. This current edition of the Explorer 2 is the perfect size for me.
Ha! You noticed that, very well, you win...............well, nothing. Well done nonetheless mate, the owner is aware and is having the issue addressed.
That's the reason I prefer the previous version with the gloss black hands. I've seen so many of the latest iterations with this grainy matt coating with artifacts and poor coating it put me right off... so I took my name off the wait list. The previous version also has the lovely gloss white dial. 👍
Got the black dial as my daily watch. My Tudors get more attention than it. Also own a 4runner and use it likes it meant to be. Always appreciate quality items that are meant to work.
It's good to be a 'gangster' picking mine up in a couple weeks. Was on the wait list for six months. Grateful to have it for the collection. Enjoyed your review!
Lovely watch. Great video. Am collecting my new 2024 watch tomorrow from my AD and looking forward to wearing it. I may put it on an orange Rubber B too.
I own both black and white 226570, I couldn't decide between so I got both and it's not easy deciding which stays which goes. My white is still full in plastic entirely with barcode attached I wear it just like that really can't tell unless one handles it. Should I keep and cancel I justify it ?
The Polar's more in-demand, and thus more valuable, if that makes any difference to you. It's also one of only two Rolex sports watches with white dials, the other being the Panda Daytona (which I'm not crazy about). I'd keep the Polar over the black.
I picked up a black dial from the AD yesterday, so it seems that today I'm getting a ton of YT video recommendations on the Explorer II. I definitely don't think it needs to be any smaller. In fact, I would love to see it somewhere between 43mm and 44mm, but then I am a huge Panerai collector, so maybe my sizing view is a little skewed. That and I have the height and frame to pull off the larger watches. The "small" size could end up a deal-breaker for me, but we shall give it a month or two. The DSSD was the right diameter for me, but I just couldn't get behind the thickness, so off it went to a new home. Tried two SD43's and no luck bonding with them either. I would love to have a Rolex or two in the collection, but finding a size that I prefer... I'm not a big bracelet guy, so I'm anxious to pair it with the right strap and start enjoying it. I travel a lot, sometimes to dodgier places, so I would want something very under-the-radar on the wrist if I'm going with a higher $$ watch for a trip. Bracelets seem to look more expensive, so maybe a rubber strap. I keep some inexpensive pieces in the collection for the really dodgy spots, but it would be nice to have a higher end watch like the Explorer for travels. A date and GMT hand are must-have for a travel piece.
Great review. Picked mine up last week and I do resonate with your comments about the cost, for me this was a massive purchase. Mine will never see a mountain or a glacier but it doesn't stop me loving it! I'm sure I'll baby it less when I have some scratches on it, the first cut is the deepest 🤣
my grail watch - was on the list for FOUR years and had given up hope and forgotten about it and actually moved on with Tudor and Omega - - then in June out of the blue got the call - - now it was a tough question of do i now really want it - - - decided "yes", picked it up after a quick calculation of finances and glad i did - best watch i ever had, only rolex i desire, and probably my only chance to get on retail/new - - the ONLY stainless steel sports watch from Rolex that is still true to its sports roots - no gold or bi-metal versions here! the last true sports Rolex imo!! - no regrets, its fantastic!
Great video. A few thoughts. First, the 42mm case size will make this a future classic. It creates a level of exclusivity for those with larger wrists (e.g., 8”). Second, this is not a trophy watch…it is robust and meant to be worn regularly as a tool watch, not to sit in a box. I equate it with the BMW GS motorcycle,…beautiful but intended to be ridden and dirty! Third,…pair this with a Cartier Tank Must XL and you have a great two watch collection and you are done.
I’m going to buy the Seiko field GMT with the white dial. Closest I can get to this until I can buy it one day. I like this watch so much but for sure I can’t afford it.
My wrist is 7.5" (19cm). it's hard to say wether it would wear big for you, no matter what the watch you never can tell until it's on your wrist can you? Thanks for the comment
I picked this watch up last week and it wears smaller than my seamaster and Pelagos and there both 42mm Maybe having a fixed bezel makes the difference Either way i thinks it’s a fantastic watch
15:02 Exaaaaaaaaactly. Tippin' my hat to you for this comment as I wear my 124060. I wish every watch was manufactured with no date. 😂 Who needs a date? No one! This sub was my first watch without a date and man, I dont think I ever want to buy a watch with a date again. Its so amazing to just pick it up , take 2 seconds to set the time, and slap it on the wrist. No fiddling with changing dates, not having to worry about the danger zone by having to make sure the hour hand is at 6 o clock before changing the date , etc etc.
More a comment than a compliant my friend. You are right that it is just a box for a watch, but also it is a box for an 8k watch. I just think it should be better than the one my coco pops come is is all. Thanks for the comment mate.

Had my heart set on the 16570, tried it on and discovered it was too small. The 226570 fitted my wrist perfectly :)

You are completely right my friend.
Simple fix, have one in 39 and one in 42 - end of story.
It’s a lovely watch this, you don’t get many ‘sports’ watches from Rolex with a white dial. Really love it, great review Rick! Keep up the good work
8:13 - what’s with the little fleck on top of the circle on the second hand

Uses to think this watch was just okay, but now I love it. The size and the orange color is perfect for me.
Congratulations - I have one and love it! Great video
If you have one of these then you are winning my friend, well done and thanks for the comment
I’m not really a date guy either, but a GMT really needs it. Great vid - I just got a black dial, love it.
First Rolex? You have a great taste bro! Nice.

Many love the white dial but I prefer the black with orange, it pops more IMO lol Beautiful watch man, enjoy!
Each to there own mate, both are pretty amazing to be honest.
That seconds hand is paint coating defective
Yup

Totally agree!
Great review, next macro shots,oh and a lovely watch to boot 😊

Congratulations on a Rolex! I haven't heard from any of my ADs yet. Or will I ever will? 🤔

Beautiful watch. I've had mine for a year and a half. And will not sell it.
I agree, never sell it.
I’m going to buy the Seiko field GMT with the white dial. Closest I can get to this until I can buy it one day.
I like this watch so much but for sure I can’t afford it.
I feel your pain my friend. Seiko is a solid watch though bud.
@@theabcofedc3565 it sucks that the price for the Seiko field GMT went up by $100usd
Great review. I agree, think it would look cleaner without the cyclops. I would choose the Sub No Date over the Sub with Date.
i've the 216570 and it's one of the last tool watches rolex makes
Great review! Looks good on you, what's your wrist size? I have a 6.6 inches wrist (16.7 cm) and I am skeptical it might wear big..
My wrist is 7.5" (19cm). it's hard to say wether it would wear big for you, no matter what the watch you never can tell until it's on your wrist can you? Thanks for the comment
17 cm here, works great. I wish the lug to lug was a bit shorter, like 48-49 mm. But as it is, it works fine on mine 17 cm wrist.
I’m 6.5 (wrist) and works for me. But yes it’s individually subjective.

Weird mine came in a clear small plastic case, then they just give me the green box.
Mmm. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for a great video.

How is it more of tool watch than a submariner?? Sub has better water resistance and better/more functional clasp

LOL what a dumb comment. The hour hand doesn’t need to be at 6 to change the date. The “danger zone” is only around midnight.
Très belle montre mais il n’y a que moi que ça choque la macro à 8min16

Amazing piece. Would have been perfect if Rolex could offer it at 39-40mm.
Agreed!
take it away from the saw man

I prefer a larger, heftier watch. Anything under 41mm is too small unless you are a little girlie man under 6' tall.
