I was working at that track when they filmed the races.
The name of the Album was Sailing the Seas of Cheese , so the Nacho's were a prop to the Album cover art .
They're pronounced Pr(eye)mus . Lot of folks get it wrong at first .
They were huge back in the 90's .

Well, technically he's tapping the bass, but this groove is undeniable! This was the song that initially hooked me back in the early 90's! You weren't even born yet. (God I feel old! 😿😜😂)
If you haven't heard it yet, check out King Crimson's "Elephant Talk". The groove on that is very similar.

I saw Primus and Fishbone at the Hollywood Palladium. They all played together at the end of the show. NUTZ!! You should listen to Fishbone's entire "Reality Of My Surroundings" album: KILLER!
and "Truth Or Soul"!
I saw Frog Brigade with Les and Fish Fisher. At the end of the show I asked a roadie to grab me the set list on the ground and on it was a cartoon drawing that Les made of a Frog saying "Colonel Schmernal, I'm here to see Fish Fisher".
I was at the same show. Very cool.

I saw this band open up for Rush in Raleigh NC in 1991. They were touring for this album Sailing the Seas of Cheese. And then Rush came on the stage. It was magical.
What a time to be alive: Rush and Primus is heaven on Earth for me.

Rush and Primus (pronounced pry-muss) two of the greatest all time 3 piece bands. Just saw Primus open up for slayer at the final Slayer show a few months back. They were both excellent. Primus actually played a little rush medley in there.

A lot of primus reactors mention that Les and Brian are awesome but Larry is hella talented too. he rocked with on a freaking banjo solo. With a damn banjo! Can't remember the song name. I just know it as, "incredibly hot on here today." And Les says, "Larr, banjy boy" and Larry does a great banjo solo. And made a banjo solo sound good!
You as a young artist must be aware of Madonna, right? She got huge with her "Like a virgin" album and what does this have to do with Primus?
Well her producer at the time, the legendary Nile Rodgers took her apart and said "We can make your album sound like every other album which is in the charts right now, OR we can record it in a trio set up with a real life drummer, bass player and myself on guitar which will make your album sound really powerful and make it stick out like a sore thumb."
Madonna, of course went with the second option and Rodgers was right, because it was an album recorded in a power trio set up and there were no drum machines and very little keyboards, it made people go "This is different, I LIKE this!"
Do not underestimate the power of just three instruments. I wish today's artists would start working with real musicians again, do away with the computers and Autotune, have it be real.

Les Claypool is the greatest bass player that ever lived!
Nice reaction. The inside joke with Primus and their fans is they say, "Primus Sucks."(pronounced prime-us) Which they don't. Les Claypool is one Hell of a bassplayer. I just dived into the Primus rabbit hole myself. You should watch their live Woodstock video footage. But, watch the official video, not the live one, for Wynona's Big Brown Beaver. It is hilarious!!!
It WAS an inside joke up until likr 10-15 years ago. Now that everybody knows it and shouts it all the time, I hear that Les and the rest are kind of sick of it.

Primus are probably the illegitimate children of Joe Walsh - the humor and musical creativity are too similar for them not to be... $C, for the original purveyors of this underground funk-rock, take Creative Warrior777 suggestion and plug into Fishbone (they're from San Bernardino) - "Reality Of My Surroundings" just crushes it!! ...however, "Party At Ground Zero" (mid '80s) is where to start with Fishbone.
