- 1975 was designated as International Women's Year. Several seminars and work shops are conducted every year to empower women. Despite this, there has been no significant change in the lives of women even after 47 years. Often women are unable to voice their needs. Unlike their mothers or grandmothers, women today don't want to sacrifice their lives like they did in the past. Rather than trying to become a superwoman, she wants to satisfy her needs and become a happy woman. However, if you are one of those women who continuously switch roles with a sickening obsession for perfection in every role, then you may be suffering from the "Superwoman Syndrome." Aspiring to a level of perfection that is unattainable consistently leads to stress and anxiety. It is extremely necessary for women to dispel the myth of "superwoman", the idea that one woman can do it all. It is possible to have both a fulfilling career and a happy, healthy family life, however, if you are able to effectively manage unnecessary stress and let go of external and internal pressures.
