@Cameron Armstrong Lol you didn't realize the lyrics? First is: "As the music dies, something in your eyes, Calls to mind a silver screen and all its sad goodbyes" this is probably where the breakup happens. "I should’ve known better than to cheat a friend, and waste a chance that I’ve been given So I’m never gonna dance again, the way I danced with you " replace "danced" with dated/loved, it's a euphemism. The only other really good one I can think of is johnny cash covering hurt. Covers should be like these where they take the song and make it their own instead of trying to sound like the original.
Found this cover while going through a hard time with my former best friend who I had a crush on about a month ago, I don't think there's a song more fit to how I felt or that hit me stronger then this when I heard it the first time but I've never really been one for the original as it always just sounded emotionless and like George Micheal never really meant what he sung, but this cover...just the emotion in every vocal to the song and every note to the music, just fits's the song perfectly. I don't know too many other bands that could have done this the way Seether has, beautiful cover.
Totally agree. This beats the original 100 to 1. Hell, I even remember listening to this on 94.5 The Buzz when I was younger. Loved it then, and still love it today.
I clicked on this video ready for it be completely shit because I never thought anyone could find a way to make this song into something like this and all I gotta say is DAMN
Since rock/metal heads are giving this kind of flowers to us, I think it's nice to give flowers to them as well. As a Hip-Hop head myself, this is one of the sickest cover of all time!! Can't get enough of this.
i discover this song yesterday on a pub here in brazil... never heard such a perfect cover like this... BROKEN is a hell of a masterpiece... but this one... man is on another level... cheers from brazil... metal forever...
I actually have to agree. Because of how big of a meme the original version is, people don't take this song as a sad song, despite the sad lyrics. Hearing this cover actually makes the sound sorrowful, I love it.
I’ve been listening to this version of the song and seether’s music (although unbeknownst to me) for pretty much my entire life. My dad would play their music allll the time when I was young, and when I found them again after I got a phone and Apple Music and properly discovered rock music on my own, the nostalgia and the recognition of truly amazing music hit me like a truck lol. I was also under the impression that THIS was the original version until like less then 2 years ago lol so when I heard the original I was like this is so lame compared to the “real” one💀 anyways, I’d just like to say that this song is arguably one of, if not THE best cover, of any song, ever. It rips my heart out of my chest every time I listen to it.
THIS is the treatment the lyrics deserve. All the angst, all the pain, the heartbreak he feels for what he did. The George Michael version is a sad whimper (which the producers probably forced them to record that way for marketability); THIS is the gutwrenching, pain filled ROAR it was always meant to be!
There's a betrayal and so much regret mixed with the killer vocals. I like this harder version while showing respect to the creators and George Michael. Check out Gunhouse Hill. Carnie Sideshow Beauty Queen is my favorite song they perform.
For the longest time, I assumed that this was the original version of this song. Naturally that means it's my favorite, no disrespect to the saxophone.
Cordell Dixon Really!?! A Romantic Comedy? I'm more of a thriller/horror movie type... at least I'd know how to get out alive in that! Though, I am glad that you've enjoyed our conversation & I thank you for your very timely response & opinion.

*Careless Whisper - My Interpretation* As the man leads his girlfriend (his best-friend and love) to the dance floor, he feels so unsure. He has been cheating on her for so long and is racked with guilt and wants to tell her the truth. As he gazes into his girlfriends eyes he thinks, "She knows". She has always known but pretends she doesn't, he knows she not a fool. He tells her the truth but she says "It's fine" and, as a result, he can't comfort her. Broken, ridden with guilt, and alone, he reflects on his new-found loneliness when she leaves him. He starts thinking, "Why didn't she stay, did she NOT know that I was capable of learning from my mistakes? I'm only human. We all make mistakes. Did she ever think about how happy we could have been if she at least let me try?" As he goes over these things, he realizes....she isn't so innocent in this broken love either...
its a george michael cover and the song is a true story that he was with his boyfriend (yes george michael is gay if you didnt know) and he loved him but something happened and george cheated on him, his other half then found out but George felt like he had betrayed him and felt so guilty so swore to never dance with anyone ever again as it wouldnt be the same without his ex
Asuna Because he was her best friend, not just her lover. She never told him the truth and talked about how much his mistake bothered her (talking things out is important in a relationship) and left him without him ever being able to tell her just how much she meant to him. She never thought he could fix what was broken. She had no faith in the person that was her best friend...
Sometimes people react really differently on several situations you know.. Maybe the fact that he cheated on her was something unforgivable..... And personally I could never ever be with a person that has cheated on me before... It's not easy to forgive that kind of stuff..
Seeing one of my favorite be paired with my favorite genre of music in the most perfect way is amazing. Credit to seether for knowing how to make a great cover of a great song.
I was actually going to write this off as another lousy cover of a classic song. I heard the guitar replacing the iconic sax and i shuttered and turned it off. 5 minutes later I felt temped that i should give it a chance. They did a really good job. It takes a lot off talent to make a cover feel as good or even better than the original. Can only think of a handful of covers that have accomplished that. I'll add this to my list.
Let me explain..I respect and thanks the original all the times..the words or the poem where i feel the First Time got my respect but..if .. if i feel the poem a Little bit closer to me ..by someone else ..i Really dont care i didnt gain and i m not a judge..i Just speak my mind..so how can i explain to u that i dont give a fuck.& how can i make u understand..Respect and thanks to the original one..but.. if i prefer.. give me shelter by puddle of mudd..or bed of Roses by hinder..i ll be always thanks..but no Sorry.. .. there Is no Sorry !! ..and maybe im not normal and believe me i dont want discuss..but i m thinking that if i play or design your work..u should be proud !! ..okay im drink and by now i ll shout up !! ; ))
Stephanie Watkins here's something to blow your mind. a lot of popular songs by popular bands and musicians from Elvis to five finger death Punch are covers that only a small amount of listeners realize. Good luck finding out which. lol
I love this cover, and it’s awesome that George Michael was given credit as well.... I will say that drummer was ON POINT! love both versions,And although George Michaels and although George Michaels was a little more heart broken but in a softer tone, this was more heart wrenching and I love that. I agree with everyone else in this version, when he hits that part “please stay, “gets me every time
They try to hug each other like katy perry fries and taylor swift cheeseburger & run to each other w/ open arms in slow mo? My thoughts exactly 🤗. Great minds think alike 👊
I just listened to the original and this cover. As a kid until today, this particular song is in my top 20 songs ever. Seether takes the originals spot. The singer isn't 17 after a high school break up, he's got too many years of pain and hurt he's carried for much longer than 17 years. This isn't a man singing this, its a bared, ripped soul crying out. I love this cover. Good job Seether!
I can't believe this specific video is still up on RUclips after all this time. I remember listening to it back when I a freshman in highschool.... time flies man
The original sax gives more of a romantic feel but this feels sad and heart wrenching
That's exactly what I was thinking.
But the electric guitar gives it the sad sound, his angry voice the feeling of betrayal. As the song was meant to have.
No this gives excitement maybe not the 1 you ho looking for but a good rock shit. The other is just old n boring.
@@shalissawhojeschowski2873 I see mister is butthurted over someones opinion huh?

Found this cover while going through a hard time with my former best friend who I had a crush on about a month ago, I don't think there's a song more fit to how I felt or that hit me stronger then this when I heard it the first time but I've never really been one for the original as it always just sounded emotionless and like George Micheal never really meant what he sung, but this cover...just the emotion in every vocal to the song and every note to the music, just fits's the song perfectly.
I don't know too many other bands that could have done this the way Seether has, beautiful cover.
One of the best covers in the history of covers!
Caroline A agreed
Yeah I'm a year late, but I disagree
Soboba Fett what's the best covet in ur opinion then?
any cover by halestorm just trust me
It'd probably be Free Bird by Shinedown.
This is one of the best covers ever recorded, thank you Seether!

agreed, everything Seether does is God-level.. they are very underrated, in my opinion.
couldn't agree more !
Totally agree. This beats the original 100 to 1. Hell, I even remember listening to this on 94.5 The Buzz when I was younger. Loved it then, and still love it today.
seether nailed it .......................the metal aspect is incredible................RIP to George
PLEASE STAAAAAYYYYY.. Still gives me goosebumps after all this years
my dad really loved this cover, listening to it reminds me so much of when we'd go around driving and he'd blast this song :) miss you dad
Listen to the song with your kids and tell them things about yo dad 😊 have a great day!!

Rodrigo Mirra damn right!
Straight chills throughout such emotion!!
Rodrigo Mirra just like my penis
jack inthecrack giggity
Its a song about cheating, its already dark with a powerful message.
Since rock/metal heads are giving this kind of flowers to us, I think it's nice to give flowers to them as well. As a Hip-Hop head myself, this is one of the sickest cover of all time!! Can't get enough of this.
He put so much feeling into this song. Best version of the song
This version is really good, but george michael is a terrific singer...the original is even better
@@ThiagoOliveira-iv2nx nothing beats the original

i discover this song yesterday on a pub here in brazil... never heard such a perfect cover like this... BROKEN is a hell of a masterpiece... but this one... man is on another level... cheers from brazil... metal forever...
Man, I'm sorry but this version of the songs really feels like it was meant to be this way.
Timothy Belt yessssss ❤️
Timothy Belt hell yeaaaaa
I actually have to agree.
Because of how big of a meme the original version is, people don't take this song as a sad song, despite the sad lyrics.
Hearing this cover actually makes the sound sorrowful, I love it.
++
Never feel sorry. Feeling sorry would imply guilt. This version is totally kick ass. It kicks any feelings of sorrow out the window.
Glam and gore?
Veronica Solorzano heello zombaes :p
More zombeas 😍😊
Veronica Solorzano her video brought me here too 😜 I am so glad it did, this version slaps
Heyy!
Veronica Solorzano yeaahhhh
Dr. Evil same
I couldn't even imagine what it was like to think this was the original and then hear the original 😂
Yeah, same here.
Same here too.
Funniest thing is I even thought the original one was the remake one of this "original" one. 😂
I want some freaking sharks with freaking lazers on heads
Best cover ever! I remember singing this all the time in high school. We'll miss you George😔
I like this version and the way Seether maintains their own style.
An hour ago, I heard this for the first time on the radio. I've listened to it 6x since. Amazing

This is too much haha. There has to be a Romantic Comedy that started this way lol
Cordell Dixon Really!?! A Romantic Comedy? I'm more of a thriller/horror movie type... at least I'd know how to get out alive in that! Though, I am glad that you've enjoyed our conversation & I thank you for your very timely response & opinion.
For a cover, it’s fucking amazing
Difícil um cover ficar tão bom quanto original. Esse ficou show

George Michael - Careless Whisper (Seether cover)
verse 1
I feel so unsure
As I take your hand
And lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies
Something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all its sad goodbyes
chorus 1
( I'm never gonna dance again
These guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste a chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you )
verse 2
Time can never mend
The careless whispers of a good friend
To the heart and mind
Ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find
chorus 2
( I'm never gonna dance again
These guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste a chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you )
verse 3
Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now who's gonna dance with me
Please stay!
chorus 3
( I'm never gonna dance again
These guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste a chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you )

*Careless Whisper - My Interpretation*
As the man leads his girlfriend (his best-friend and love) to the dance floor, he feels so unsure.
Sam Mansfield He's bisexual.
bberg21 Why isnt she innocent ? :|
"There's no comfort in the truth. Pain is all you'll find."
Maybe it's better this way, we hurt each other with the things we wanna say
Please don't staaaaaaaay!
"The truth shall set you free"
" Please .... STAY !!!!!!!!!!!! "
I'm a die hard George Michael fan. I listen to his music every day. I was expecting to not like a redo of this song, but it's pretty good!
Yeah Right
That's True
The dislikes are from the ones who feel guilty and have no rhythm.
ha ha right! u can feel this version!!
Exactly 😂🤣😂😂😂😁😆
I was actually going to write this off as another lousy cover of a classic song. I heard the guitar replacing the iconic sax and i shuttered and turned it off. 5 minutes later I felt temped that i should give it a chance. They did a really good job. It takes a lot off talent to make a cover feel as good or even better than the original. Can only think of a handful of covers that have accomplished that. I'll add this to my list.
@@vortexrace definitely better than the original. I'm a huge metalhead tho so yea
Guess they'll just never dance again
I don't usually like covers, but goddammit this is gooooooood!
Absolutely mindblowing!❤
I hate covers to but i have heard a few good ones
Good luck finding out which. lol
Man.. I love this. Awesome cover.
Verdadeira obra de arte. ❤️
I'm not sure which I like better, the smooth Wham! Version with the saxophone part, or the more ballad sounding rock version of this one
Love both but, in terms of great covers, Seether made one of the best ever.
This cover brought my childhood fave to life in such an amazing way. Love Love Love it. You can hear how angry he is with himself.
Sonia Buck I'm assuming you heard Disturbed's cover on Sounds of Silence....that is in my opinion the best cover I've ever heard
In my opinion this and Marylin Manson’s cover of “Sweet Dreams” are tied for the best cover in history.
I love this cover, and it’s awesome that George Michael was given credit as well.... I will say that drummer was ON POINT! love both versions,And although George Michaels and although George Michaels was a little more heart broken but in a softer tone, this was more heart wrenching and I love that. I agree with everyone else in this version, when he hits that part “please stay, “gets me every time
When two metalheads see each other in public
That’s a game it’s called sally face
They try to hug each other like katy perry fries and taylor swift cheeseburger & run to each other w/ open arms in slow mo? My thoughts exactly 🤗. Great minds think alike 👊
I just listened to the original and this cover. As a kid until today, this particular song is in my top 20 songs ever.
Seether takes the originals spot. The singer isn't 17 after a high school break up, he's got too many years of pain and hurt he's carried for much longer than 17 years. This isn't a man singing this, its a bared, ripped soul crying out.
I love this cover. Good job Seether!
Still gonna be listening in 2019
Joseph Nickles absolutely!!
Way ahead of ya
Aye aye cap'n

Such a great cover of this song..It's hard to believe but, George Michael wrote Careless Whisper when he was only 17...Such talent. 🙌
One of the best rock covers of all time
Very True
This song was never supposed to be 'romantic'. Its about heartbreak.
Isn’t it about the regret of having cheated on someone? XD
I love the original, but this version is just too good. It totally fits Seether too, and I love this song as it was, so this is a Win=Win for me =P
Rest In Peace George Michael :(

Love this and the original both equally! Well executed on both sides! ❤️🖤
