This song isn't talking about those who has the color blue eyes... Its talking about those who hide so much but you can still see it through their eyes... The color blue is usually associated with sadness. So many times I've seen people say this song is meant for those with blue eyes. No its meant for those who are in pain and emotional confusion and hide it... You can only hide so much of your soul but the eyes reveal all. I wasn’t the bad man. I have blue eyes. Wasn’t the sad man. Exactly to be hated by the bitch who told everyone the lies. I did nothing. But was ghosted by everyone we knew. I’m being humble. Guys don’t believe anything. Basically I was ghosted by all our mutual friends. I was 10 times better looking than her. Fell in love and after years she thought she was better than me. Not happening. She is miserable now. Asking me back. Fuck her. Love this song. Reminds me of the good old days. 90’s ruled. Fuck You LG
was going through depression for the past week due to my studies, I just took a break from my studies and opened youtube and I Watched a video where this music was used. I looked it up and Somewhat I'm feeling better. These songs do help us going thru bad times in life, stay strong everyone. 15 years! This song is magical.
Been playing this nonstop ever since my grandfather died. After he died, my mom’s beatings gotten worse. I can heavily relate to the lyrics. I feel lonely inside, yet I try to find someone to blame it on. It is just so painful. Yet, this song still lets me remember the beginning. I will remember my grandfather until I die.
Damn. Your post made me shed a tear. I'm so sorry things turn out the way it does. I've never met my grandfather. You'll get out of it. I pray, right now in this reply, that you find rest in the Lord. May you find, in a near future, a life that does not lack support. Indeed, this situation will grant you strength.
i remember being very young always listening to this song while my dad was drunk and he would sing every word out loud. never knew how hard this song hits.
Jesus Christ. I am 31 and I am from Russia. When I used to ask mom what's so awesome there, she replied she just like a clip. Now I'm listening to it and can't stop crying. I understand the point. She doesn't speak English but her soul felt all what was sang there. It's amazing. It's God's trick - the music.
@ Julia zemskova: this song is even more powerful now thinking about all of the young Russian soldiers that will never return home to their mothers , wives , brothers, Dads and children....this is very tear jerking
When I was younger, before my dad left, he would always play this for me on his guitar. I've heard stories from my mother about when I was just a few weeks old, where he would sing me to sleep with this song.
This song reminds me of my dad who’s had a lot of struggles and still has many. He has blue eyes and everyone else in close family has brown ones. Including me. He’s the one who got me thru everything, he’s helped me when he has his own problems and mental struggles. He had a hard time growing up and yet somehow made it thru and be someone great. I can’t help but wonder what he sees, and how he gets thru life. he never seems happy, and yet he’s always there no matter what, putting my family before himself. I hope one day I can understand him better and be someone he’s proud of.
This was my dad's favorite song. I used to think it was a cool rock song before but when i listened to it rn, it hits different. How I wish to be a child forever.
No one knows what it's like, to be the bad man To be the sad man, behind blue eyes And no one knows what it's like, to be hated To be fated, to telling only lies But my dreams, they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance, that's never free No one knows what it's like, to feel these feelings Like I do, and I blame you (you, you, you) No one bites back as hard, on their anger None of my pain and woe, can show through (through, through, through) But my dreams, they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance, that's never free Discover, L.I.M.P. say it Discover, L.I.M.P. say it Discover, L.I.M.P. say it Discover, L.I.M.P. say it Discover No one knows what it's like, to be mistreated To be defeated, behind blue eyes (blue eyes, blue eyes, blue eyes) And no one knows how to say, that they're sorry And don't worry, I'm not telling lies (lies, lies) But my dreams, they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance, that's never free No one knows what it's like, to be the bad man To be the sad man, behind blue eyes

This song hits me hard, being a 90's kid and still trying to make my own identity. Many times I thought of giving up but my responsibilities keeps me going. It's difficult.
The fact of putting this in the Angry Birds movie, and my dad playing this song years ago made me discover Limp Bizkit's music. I have major respect for this guy, and I love Fred Dursts soft voice covering "The Who" Track. Thank you, Fred Durst for shaping me to have the greatest life ever. Much love. ☺
I've liked this song since i was little then i heard it on supernatural and it bought me straight back to my childhood. This song has so much meaning for me. It helped me through my abusive childhood, everyone at school thought i was weird cause they didn't understand this song and thought it sounded too much like '"Adult" music. I grew up getting beaten by my Mother, and my Father was violent too. We never had food, in and out of foster care, didn't see my father for 8 years, had drunk people coming in and out of house. I know my childhood isn't as bad as some other people in the world, but it was hard for me. This song honestly saved me. Music is so strong in helping emotionally.
❤anyone who keeps trying wins in the end , be it in jobs kids partner drama. Kids grow up more jobs are there and you can reinvent yourself at any time. ❤
My husband lost his battle with himself and passed away 11 years ago. This song use to speak to him on so many lvls. I wish I could show him his beautiful daughter who is 16 now. I wish he could have seen her first dance and all the other things he missed because I know if he had held on N just kept trying for himself and his kids he truly would never be a bad man. So dont stop trying. Please.
Behind Blue Eyes is still one of our most favourite songs ever, so much so that we have just posted a cover of this over on our RUclips channel. We just hope we have done the song justice...
Wow i just went to your channel and checked out your Behind blue eyes cover... did not expect it to be that good at all. Your singer is incredible, I am sure Fred Durst would really dig this too.
This song was written and recorded by *The Who* in 1971, specifically by guitarist Pete Townshend. Limp Bizkit’s cover is amazing, but give credit where it’s due. 🫡✌🏼
Jfc all these "akshually this is the original" ppl are so annoying. "Give credit where it's due"??? Why should he? This person put Limp's version of the song, so he put Limp's name.
This beautiful song has so many meanings to so many individuals that are living day to day in their pain. I cry as far as my soul will allow me to go before I get too lost in my sorrow. This is the only song that allows me to do that.
Depression is a silent and effective assassin. Exposure is it's kryptonite, sadly like an abusive partner it holds its victims hostage through fear and shame. It even pits it's victims against those who could help by planting seeds of irrational resentment. If you are suffering please don't hold it in, tell somebody trustworthy what you are going through so you can get the help you so deserve. For the rest of us It's our job to stay vigilant and make sure we give our loved ones every opportunity to ask for help
+kutabarekid Holy shit, dude. Recently going through the loss of my wife who decided I am no longer worth her love, I didn't realize how much I've been bottling up my feelings, trying to remain "strong" until I just read your post. Hiding my feelings has not been easy, yet it's what's constantly encouraged to the point of ridiculousness. "Stay strong", and "You'll be OK" are the two most common comments I hear, constantly. Why do I have to stay strong? When am I going to be OK? I just lost the love of my life. I've never felt more weak and powerless in my entire life. I know I'll eventually recover, but why do I have to rush it, or try to ignore it? Why do I have to stay strong? Because I'm a man? I feel like I'm bottling up my feelings and staying "strong" so the people around me feel better. How is that helping me? All I'm doing is making their lives easier. Fuck them. I'm sad and miserable and I need to be! If they don't like it I'll just avoid them so they won't have to shed a tear for me. I don't need anyone's pity. I just need to let my feelings out. If I have to do it alone then so be it. Thank you for opening my eyes.
The Who version was a kind of theme song for me in high school, now Limp Bizkit has nailed it! These feelings that pour out from this song is universal and timeless. It is to be screamed, often whispered but always just behind the vail, or the fake smile. Scream it.
it's March 2021, and you are here again, congrats for making those good old songs alive :) Estamos em Março de 2021. e você está aqui de novo, obrigado por manter as musicas boas e velhas vivas. I dunno Spainish sorry ;-
I'm really curious as to why they cut out the best part of the song. "When my fist clenches, crack it open Before I use it and lose my cool When I smile, tell me some bad news Before I laugh and act like a fool And if I swallow anything evil Put your finger down my throat And if I shiver, please give me a blanket Keep me warm, let me wear your coat"
I think it's because it wouldn't fit the vibe they were going for as much. It's kinda hard for me to imagine that part in this cover. I'm not sure though
Every time I pick up my guitar, the first thing I play, now a days, is this song. I don't even remember learning it, but I love playing it so much I could never forget it. But the thing is, I have only dabbled in playing guitar a little... and yet this song always comes back to me. The amount of emotion in this song is unforgettable.
Hiding my depression throughout my entire teenage years.. I was the cool funny kid to the outside world, deep down I was dying. this song brings a lot of dark nostalgia. 💔
Same... This song feels like it was written specifically for me. I was hiding my depression and fears as a teenager by acting like a clown and playing the "cool" guy. Then one day it all caught up with me and I sank all the way down to the bottom of the barrel, didn't start resurfacing until I reached my 30s.
I still listen to this song 'till this day at least once a year. No matter what happes in my life. The lyrics are amazing, the delivery is surprizing for Limp Bizkit, but it all just works. I remember my little brother owned the CD this song was on, and despite owning many more CD's than my brother, I envied him for owning the CD this song was on.
That brought back so many memories, ironically, i was the youngest growing up and my older siblings always had more CD's then me, but my sister gave me a burned CD with this song and a mix of rob zombie, system of a down, beastie boys, slipknot, and a few mixed songs including this one. Best CD i ever had growing up!
Never wish for anyone else's life. No life is perfect. Always remember you are not alone in your suffering. Tough times don't last. Tough people do. Hold strong and be tough. We are strengthened through suffering.
To be perfectly clear depression and anxiety is not always a weakness. And it does not mean that one that suffers from it is weak or stupid. Some of the most talented and brilliant people in the world suffer from some sort of mental illness or depression. The gentlemen who said we should weed out the mentally ill i.e. the stupid and the weak is one of the most ignorant persons to exist. And note that I did not call him stupid. I called him ignorant. People who have depression or anxiety feels emotions more strongly than others and if harnessed correctly this can be an extraordinary gift. We should never put mental ill people into boxes and call them stupid because we are all unique individuals with a variety of special gifts. Oh and by the way I am mentally. Can u tell?
Laura Miller Depression and anxiety are NEVER weaknesses. They are illnesses in which those afflicted aren't at fault. The only lies in those who embrace the stigma and perpetuate it rather than embrace the ones struggling.
facepalm Not true. Depression, or any mental illness, for that matter, should never be considered a weakness. Can it weaken your health emotionally, physically and mentally? Absolutely. Many diseases weaken your health in similar ways. But they, too, are not weaknesses in one's character, mental strength, or abilities. To say otherwise is to perpetuate the stigma attached to mental illness that those afflicted are somehow less or "weaker" than others. Believe me, my own personal battle with mental illness has taught me that I'm so much stronger than I ever thought. Most people would not and could not handle what I face every single day. No exaggeration. Just the truth.
You have gazed the pit of darkness and came back, you and the guy who answered the same. I will not tell meaningless crap disguised with epic battle-like words. But I am "proud" of you, and not like a doctor would be. I am proud because you have the courage to open your eyes every morning facing the pain that you didn't choose, because you are still breathing in sorrow and panic while some parts of society even treats you like nothing at all. I am proud that you have the bravery to live because you truly know the pain and so, with this knowledge you truly can feel and give love and so you are no "evil" and you did not deserved this. I know, I am a meaningless guy, a random comment on the web and you don't know me or my face. But i wanted to say it because i feel it as a human not a friend , a relative or a kind of doctor. And i really hope that i gave you the smile you deserve.
While this is a cover, Limp gave us a version that is more rooted into a modern understanding of depression and loneliness. Something about that voice. It’s the voice the perfectly matches and that of the millions who feel that there is no point in being on this earth.
Best rendition of this song. it will never age. We are humans with real emotions. If this song doesn't make you feel something in your soul I'll pray for you blue eyes or not.

Sorry for your loss. Remember the good 16 n find a positive in the sadness of loss. Even if the only positive is he didn't suffer for years. Don't quit being the woman he loved either. He walks beside you differently now. Don't let the pain consume you. Smile your best smile. Watch for simple signs from him. Chin up, tits out, onward. If all you do is hold yourself together today. Gosto muitíssimo deste música, há algum tempo atrás, quebrei a cabeça para lembrar o nome de música. Está canção marcou uma parte de mi ha adolescência. Realmente, nostalgia pura.
This takes me back to college in 1973. I was so lonely and awkward --- trying to find out who was inside me. I was also just learning to play the guitar and I would play this song. And . . . I had blue eyes, literally and metaphorically. It was so appropriate.
If it was in 1973 that was only a couple years after the original came out by the who you probably heard that one I think you commented this on the wrong video lol
My baby girl and I love this song and many other songs from this band. Sadly we are not together anymore. I miss you so much. I will never stop loving you. I'm sorry I hurt you

was going through depression for the past week due to my studies, I just took a break from my studies and opened youtube and I Watched a video where this music was used.
🙏
Please stay safe and I hope you're able to leave that situation soon 💜
Damn. Your post made me shed a tear. I'm so sorry things turn out the way it does. I've never met my grandfather. You'll get out of it. I pray, right now in this reply, that you find rest in the Lord. May you find, in a near future, a life that does not lack support. Indeed, this situation will grant you strength.
hang in there man, lifes hard but it does get better
Like to recommend some early korn, self titled and life is peachy! Think you'll find something there

Been listening to this for years on and off. So many years have passed. This song still hits the heart as much as it did when I first heard it
This song reminds me of my dad who’s had a lot of struggles and still has many. He has blue eyes and everyone else in close family has brown ones. Including me. He’s the one who got me thru everything, he’s helped me when he has his own problems and mental struggles. He had a hard time growing up and yet somehow made it thru and be someone great. I can’t help but wonder what he sees, and how he gets thru life. he never seems happy, and yet he’s always there no matter what,
putting my family before himself. I hope one day I can understand him better and be someone he’s proud of.
You already get him because you watched him from afar and he is proud of you
This was my dad's favorite song. I used to think it was a cool rock song before but when i listened to it rn, it hits different. How I wish to be a child forever.

Well said! That’s what it’s like. I was born 1989. Very prevalent song.

/: fucking nailed it man. . .
Very. Well said
+De1ty77 I have to be pushed with mom
+kutabarekid poetic dude i think this is a very apt way to explain depression

"When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
And if I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And if I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat"

Can u tell?

Literally my first comment on RUclips. Seriously never even bother - but - well put Laura.

2024 and this song is every year a LEGEND THX THAT THIS SONG EXIST❤❤❤❤❤
This takes me back to college in 1973. I was so lonely and awkward --- trying to find out who was inside me. I was also just learning to play the guitar and I would play this song. And . . . I had blue eyes, literally and metaphorically. It was so appropriate.
🌌 good vibes for you, have a happy life 🔅🌞
We're fuckin gun runners, lets run some fuckin guns!! College Edu not needed

@@owenf2835 Back in the early 70's, was there any other version?
If it was in 1973 that was only a couple years after the original came out by the who you probably heard that one I think you commented this on the wrong video lol

This song makes me sad because many people are hiding what pains and how people treats them.
Sometimes we can't let it out... Once we do... We break.
My baby girl and I love this song and many other songs from this band. Sadly we are not together anymore. I miss you so much. I will never stop loving you. I'm sorry I hurt you
