I don't understand . The Mexican peso is weak relative USD right now. The exchange is around 18 pesos to the dollar now. In May 2024 it was around 16 pesos to the dollar. That means its a better deal for Americans to go to Mexico now. Of course prices have increased in Mexico, as they have in the USA , so this may wipe out any benefits in a better exchange. But I think you have everything backwards. Its currently a weak peso and a strong USD. The peso weakened exactly at the time of Claudia Sheinbaum's election victory. Probably over fears of her socialist agenda. In the USA rent has increased on average 40% since 2020.. You would a have seen a 20% increase between 2020 and 2024 in Mexican rent. You would be much better off renting in Mexico than the USA.
