I have a set of cheap plastic spatula which I use to lift the corners. They are much less likely to damage the fep then and can always get the resin sheet lifted after a little fiddling
@@greedy3d480 same here, i bought yesterday e spatula for this. already have 3 feps destroyed in 2 months.. but i used the black scraper instead of the iron one. now im trying to use a wet paper or alcohol for cleaning up the parts that are stuck. also i used too much alcohol once in the vat, which diluted my resin i poured in to short after. so yeah.. next time i buy some resin i probably will use the last bit to put it in the bottle with the old diluted resin and even if it breaks more easely when handled, i can still use it as a showcase model.
Generally if you place the piece of support at the corner of the vat when you do the tank clean feature is better, the support (being only half of it in the cured resin) has more leverage on the resin sheet and this drastically increase the chances of it peeling off nicely
New to this, so just asking from a newbie, is it just too much of a pain to empty the vat of the leftover resin and clean the tray off/out after each print rather than just leaving the leftover resin in the vat, which it appears can cause problems later?
there's no reason to. Why clean a vat after a successful print only to pour resin back in? If it were a successful print there shouldn't be any cured resin in the vat.
You did it wrong ;-) and NEVER use a sharp scraper near the fep. 1st pour most of the resin out through a filter. 2nd with just enough resin covering the fep place a piece of support in the corner 3rd run tank clean 2x 30 seconds. 4th Remove the vat 5th push slightly under the fep in the corner near the support to make the cured resin mat comes loose. 6th slowly peel the cured resin mat out from that loose corner. 7th clean with IPA and a piece of cloth if you feel the need.
@@greedy3d480 Just looking at 1:15 and it looks like your printer isnt level? Left side as you look at it seems higher and the resin is lower on the right ;-)
@@Optikification I'd spotted that too... It's being moved today to make room for the Saturn S that's replaced the deceased mono x... Thank you for the heads up though.. Appreciated 👍😁

Thank you.. Seems like a sensible approached 😁👍

um, he did
@@stringztooNo he didn't 🤔
This is so helpful, thank you so much!!!!
Glad you found it helpful thank you for the comment
I have a anycubic mono2 and I do a 30s tank clean and the cured resin peels itself of the FEP after a few minutes
Yep that's the way to do it...
. Not when it's on the LCD though 😉😁
Never use a metal scraper on your fep….. fast way to puncture or scratch. Use a plastic one or silicone
Schoolboy error 👍

You really don't need to it'll be fine to leave the resin in the vat.. I've left it for weeks and just carefully stirred it prior to use 👍

I just used a brand new vat an fresh resin and this still happened.
Very strange

Thank you... Great advice and why I love youtube so much... It's a learning game this 3d lark... 👍😁

video should be called "what you shouldn't do to clean a vat"
Cheeky lol
This video is *totally* wrong 🙄
Use a PLASTIC scraping to gently lift the cured resin sheet out..
I was testing you.. Well done 👍
